Shara Makeup Studio

I learned so much during my makeup consultation with Maggie! I appreciated her honesty and teaching style. She even helped clean up my brows during the consultation

I went to Shara makeup studio for a lesson and have returned for applications several times with one of my favorite Makeup artist there, Maggie! Maggie always greets me with a great big smile and the experience is always pleasant. I've had my makeup done so many times by Maggie because she is the only person who has ever gotten it right. I always feel well taken care of and pampered whenever I visit her. She is a great teacher because I`ve learnt new makeup techniques every time I visit. She is so attentive to my needs and gets me in and out in a flash which is much appreciated with my busy schedule.

I was in town for an event and had made an appointment for an early morning makeup session. I arrived , right on time , at 9:30. When the studio was closed and no one was there to open I dialed the number for Shara studio and Shara , herself, answered. She immediately apologized and told me she was nearby and would be right over. The makeup artist I had booked had a transportation issue and wouldn't be able to make it.
Well it must have been my lucky day , because Shara is amazing . With an incredible background of theater and voice, this artist is the consummate professional , as well as kind , adorable and an amazing makeup artist. In a blink of an eye, I was on my way with a great face that lasted until the wee hours ! Can't wait to get back for my next event in the city :)

Shara is simply the best. She has an incomparable professionalism and really makes you shine for whatever event you are going to. She has worked with me for photo shoots, film premieres, and more.

Additionally, she is a wonderful resource for tips on better skin. I had been experiencing mild acne and even the dermatologist didn't seem to have a reason for why it was happening. Shara not only diagnosed which product I was using to cause the acne, but offered solutions that have really changed the quality of my skin to be 100% clear and healthy looking.

If you have a big day approaching, I give her the highest recommendation! You will be so so happy with h

The Best: Anytime I am in NYC and need my makeup done, I reach out to Shara. She has a team of truly talented makeup artists, (Jennifer, Frances and Maggie are super talented and full of knowledge you can apply to your daily makeup routine). I don't wear a lot of makeup but whether I have an event or just a dinner party, (bold/heavy or light makeup) my makeup looks natural. Not typically a complainer, but even when I ask for a tweak, they gracefully fix and its never a problem (like some places).

I love her makeup line. My two favorite products are the slip primer and tinted primer, which for me is light enough to be a moisturizer with enough coverage for everyday use and they feel weightless both separate or combined together.

I was a client over a year ago and every day when I wake up and put on my face I praise the work of Shara!! I don't ever shop for makeup anymore and waste my money, I love how my color palette she chose works with everything - I love knowing how to take a day look and make it a bit more special for evening ! The colors, textures products are fantastic and very reasonable !!!!!! I will also add with aging skin each year gets harder but not with this brilliant makeup artist!!!!!! You changed my life ! My routine is simple and full proof. Thank you

Today my mom and I went for make up lessons with Maggie. She was extremely friendly and patient! She took the time to explain everything to us. We brought our own brushes with us so she could let us know which ones were for what & was able to supply us with what we were missing. She did not push the products on us at all but we were so impressed we ended up almost buying everything! Most importantly, we walked out looking beautiful! We had such a fun girls day and would definitely go back!

I just had to write this review of Maggie Esmond for private makeup lesson. She is super professional and picked the right shade for my skin tone. She knew exactly what foundation to use for my oily face, what eye shadow will pop my eye and she picked the right lipstick to give me a glam look. I was so satisfied with her make up that I have returned couple of times for additional sessions. She also gave me helpful tips for everyday look, apparently I was doing it all wrong. With Maggie's tips and Shara's product, I look fab everyday. I was wasting so much money on make up products, now I only use Shara's product which feels so natural and my face is never cakey.

I decided to buy the Groupon deal after reading the reviews on here. I would have to say that I completely agree with them. I arrived late because of train issues but I didn't feel like Danielle rushed or short cut me in any way. I got the 90 minute make up lesson so she walked me through the day look and night look. I was afraid that with the stuff she was piling on my face, that I would be sold the items which would quickly add up. Danielle was encouraging and answered questions along the way. I am glad that she didn't try to sell me on anything. I think because of that, I actually do want to buy some of the products, especially that liner pen!

The only complaint I have is that the place is hard to find. Shara is in a salon and the salon is in a hotel. Plus, there is no cell reception down in the salon. When I arrived, there was no one at the reception area. After waiting a while, I wandered to where some of the people were and then they went to get Danielle in a discreet room by the reception area. Apparently Danielle did call me when I was late, but I didn't get the message until well after the appointment was over because I didn't have reception. If anyone would like to learn some good make up techniques, I would highly recommend Shara Makeup and Danielle.

Great Job Jennifer! I am a very tough customer when it comes to make-up application as I am pretty good at it myself.

Jennifer asked me all the right questions about my skincare and made great suggestions. We talked about every product she used and asked me my preferences.

The end result was lovely. It also lasted to the end of the night with no fallout. I already booked my next appointment.
