Wonderful historic landmark restaurant located downtown Worthington. I cannot believe I have not visited this restaurant in all the years I've lived here!
Back in the 1900's this restaurant was an inn as you can imagine where people would come and go as they please. Then as time evolved, a restaurant idea was replaced with the inn to make it more modern for the city of Worthington.
The restaurant is divided into several rooms where you can dine. We dined closest to the doorway facing downtown Worthington. The waitress dimed the lights, which was a nice touch.
My husband and I read through the menu and choose different entrees. He ordered the Beef Worthington which had au gratin potatoes, spinach and huge steak topped with blue cheese and sauce. My order was the beef tenderloin, medium well. My meal came with mashed potatoes and green beans and a special sauce for the steak, I believe it was hollandaise sauce.
I would recommend this restaurant 100%, if your looking for an original and historic landmark and dining spot in Worthington. Your experience will definitely be wonderful as you dine in this all American classic restaurant.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ken C.Roswell, GA62547354Jun 27, 2018

Right in the heart of Worthington's downtown, this building has a lot of history. The back of the menu highlights the changes the Inn has experienced since it was built in the 1800s. The owners have done a really nice job with the decor - balancing antiques and art to give you an unique atmosphere.
I used OpenTable to reserve a table for 5, and we were seated promptly upon arriving. The place wasn't too crowded and I couldn't help but notice the older demographic. That's likely a combination of the location and pricing.
The menu isn't huge, but it offers a nice variety including fish, steaks, chicken and vegetarian. They had a separate cocktail menu that I assume was pretty diverse (didn't look because we weren't drinking that night) given the size of the bar! Lots of tables were enjoying bottles of wine.
Despite the restaurant not being crowded, it took a really long time to get our food. Thankfully they offer complimentary bread, which was amazing - especially with the homemade butter!
I got the gnocchi and my husband got the filet. He really enjoyed his filet, and the gnocchi was pretty good. The chicken that came with the gnocchi was really tender and the veggies were nicely cooked. I wasn't a huge fan of the gnocchi by itself, but when you ate it as part of everything else in the dish, it was good. If we go back, I'll probably get the filet. Or the salmon looked good as well.
This was a nice place to take our parents, but not sure we would go back just the two of us because of the older atmosphere. Still really glad we checked it out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bill E.Lewisburg, PA1764921380Apr 9, 2017
It was March and time for me to schedule another brunch meetup for my meetup group- I've got 99 Problems, but a brunch aint one. I immediately thought of the Worthington Inn and called ten days before the date to make a reservation.
When all of us got at the restaurant we were seated promptly and in our own room with a dedicated server.
I ordered the bloody Mary and added on more than a few toppings including bacon, cheese, pickle and olives, it was a very good bloody Mary, not my favorite in Columbus, but definitely in my top 8.
After scouting out the menu online I knew I was going to order a Benedict, I mean whom doesn't love hollandaise (Vegans). The smoked salmon Benedict was my clear-cut choice, it was delicious, the hollandaise had good flavor, the smoked salmon very good flavor and the eggs perfectly poached and it was served with breakfast potatoes.
Everyone in my group really liked the Worthington Inn and decided it was a restaurant they will check out again.
A nice touch was when the GM stopped by the table and checked up on us and thanked us for coming in.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0 - Emily F.Columbus, OH3064882Apr 15, 2017
Downtown Worthington just got even more quant and charming after I dined at the Worthington Inn. I LOVE this historic landmark, and it is now one of my favorite places to dine in Columbus!
The Worthington Inn is the epitome of a Columbus Dine Original. For 25 years, the restaurant has been delivering a fine dining experience with its excellent customer service, attention to detail and carefully prepared dishes. Their chefs bake fresh bread daily, churn their own ice creams and sorbets and make homemade pickles, sauces and soups. The ingredients for each dish are locally sourced, and they support sustainable farming practices.
When I dined here, I ordered the Chopped Salad for my first course. The chopped salad was made up of romaine lettuce, beets, oven-dried tomatoes, cucumber, olives, red onion, aged cheddar and Dijon-herb vinaigrette. It was light and very tasty. For my entree I ordered the Ohio Rainbow Trout which came with haricot verts and basmati rice. The trout was fresh and prepared just right. For dessert, I ordered the Cappuccino Creme Brûlée. It was PHENOMENAL! One of the BEST Creme Brûlées I have ever eaten.
The Worthington Inn also offers private dining rooms, including a beautiful ballroom, for private events up to 100 guests. If you are looking for a more casual dining experience, they have a pub which offers its own menu of sandwiches and small plates.
Next time you are in the Worthington area, you have to check out The Worthington Inn to receive the ultimate dining experience. This historical site will leave you yearning to return.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jul 20, 2017
Met old friends for brunch. Went on a Saturday so it was busy downtown with the market. Just valet! (Complimentary when you eat) Not busy on the inside because it was such a beautiful day. Fortunately we were able to sit on the porch. I had the breakfast sandwich, another the special, another the salmon Benedict. Sandwich was delicious and much bigger than I thought. It came with breakfast potatoes that were perfectly crisp on outside and mushy inside. Also- try the limosa! Yes a mimosa with limoncello. Some take home boxes were necessary.

I HADN'T BEEN IN THE WORTHINGTON INN IN YEARS.
We were walking around Old Worthington one evening, got hungry, and decided to stop in for dinner. The chef has changed several times since I was last here.
Guess what...? It was good. Actually really good.
The interior hasn't changed - still a little dated and old-school, still multiple small, quiet, separate rooms for intimate dining. Still a very comfortable space.
Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Food was really good - everything we ate was good enough that we'd order it again.
Prices were about 20% higher on everything than I would expect, which is the only reason for my 4 star rating instead of 5 stars.
Good place.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jennifer H.Westerville, OH14727865Mar 20, 2017
Stopped in here for a drink before we had dinner reservations across the street. The bar is small but cozy, and wasn't overly crowded at about 6:30pm. Was waited on very promptly, and the martini I ordered was very good. Not sure if they had any beer on tap (that would be one thing that I think they should think about adding if they don't) but my husband was able to get a bottle of Guinness, so he was happy.
Knocked my drink over when it was about half way finished (no I hadn't been drinking before that....and it was totally embarrassing). The bar tender cleaned it up and brought me a glass of water. I think that the bigger issue was that 4 of us were trying to squeeze into a spot where only 2 chairs were....
I would certainly come back for a quick drink, but forget about fitting a group of folks in here for any sort of get together. It was pretty cramped, but then again....it is an old building and I wasn't expecting an expansive bar. Hoping to get here for dinner one of these days too.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 18, 2012
This is it, I have found my favorite restaurant in Columbus, actually I prefer it over most restaurant I have been to all over the world.
It was a beautiful saturday afternoon and they have a gorgeous front porch and patio to sit at, which of course was full but this way I got to check out the inside.
3 dining rooms, very old school, kind of stuffy, but like being in someones home with great servers and a simply elegant atmosphere with paintings of old Worthington on the walls.
This is the orginal to what steakhouses like Mortons, Shulas or J. Gilberts strive to be and I love Orginals.
It already started of fabulous by one of the best bread baskets ever!
Hot and fresh french bread, crispy browned with a garlicy seat salt crust, not your average bread and served with their housemade aoli, also the best I have ever tasted, needless to say we asked for a second serving!
I had been dying to go here for lunch as I heard the burger was great and its one of the few that make their own veggie burger.
I was considering the Nicoise but told myself that would be next time, I need to try this burger so I had the Santa Fe Burger with Black bean, mushroom and Himalayan red rice with pepper jack cheese, arugula and tomatillo-avacado salsa along witha side of smokey brussel sprouts.
Words can't explain the delight I experienced during this meal, every part of the burger from the toasted sesame bun, the housemade aioli, the avocado salsa, arugula always a winner and then a veggie burger bursting with complex flavors, no mush, meat is not missed or wanted here.
This, I could eat every day and be a happy happy woman.
The brussel sprouts fresh with a bit of crunch roasted in bacon fat, also top notch and beats the fries which my husband had and though hot fresh and crispy, a bit too salty.
He had the lights out burger with Grilled grass-fed Ohio beef served with BBQ
sauce, cheddar cheese, apple-wood bacon, tobacco onions, arugula, and tomato.
Huge and cooked to perfection, a beautiful presentation for any carnivore.
Excellent service and the nicest meal I have had to date, I already told my husband we are coming back next saturday for the Nicoise, though I can already see myself ordering the exact same thing again in fear of missing out!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Tyler S.Columbus, OH20169120Jun 10, 2018
This is one of the most unique buildings in old Worthington, with a lot of charm and history. Check out the back of the lunch or dinner menu to get a one pager of how the inn has come to be what it is today. The food is good, the prices are alright but it's more about the experience of being there, enjoying the patio on a nice day. It isn't my favorite place to eat without a block or two, but, it's a fantastic patio and a gorgeous building that is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. I've experimented with their scrambled eggs, bowls, and breakfast sandwiches but honestly I'd play it safe and just get a burger or homemade black bean burger.
