Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital

This sweet cat was found wandering on Portola Avenue. With the help of the nice people at Seven Hills Veterinary who scanned for a chip and he had one(!), we were able to reunite him with his owner. (He snuck out when no one was looking)
We all cheered to find out his name and that his owner was a responsible pet owner by getting him chipped and maintaining his chip information. Happy day!!

Dr. Yu is INCREDIBLE. She goes above & beyond and illustrates incredible compassion. In general, Seven Hills is a really reliable and trustworthy vet.

I brought Kitaro & Kiku, my FELV+ cats to see Dr. Hong for a baseline checkup.

They allowed me in (masked) with my two kitties for the exam and annual injections. Dr. Hong and his assistant were lovely, positive, knowledgeable and very kind. They also clipped Kiku's long nails for me and answered all of my questions.

Dr. Hong also invited me to reach out by email or phone if there's other questions (FELV + kitties can get sick easily, so I'm a bit of a helicopter cat guardian.)

Dr. Yu was thorough in Kirby's check up... finding an issue with his knees that I had suspected and worried about...
I was comforted and given options on how to proceed..
After an injection and a lesson on (administering) Adequan; Kirby was up and about without the obvious limp we had all struggled and worried about

I had asked the reception desk if there was a way to give feedback directly, and was pointed to leave that feedback on yelp, so here it is.

I brought my dog in to Seven Hills back in October for an annual physical and to get familiar with a vet in SF as we just moved here. Although it was a long wait for an original visit, the initial visit was really pleasant. However, while trying to refill heartworm medicine through 1800PetMeds, SevenHills just denied the request as they needed to do a heartworm test (their rule requires this annually before filling any prescriptions which I was not aware of). To do that, I would need to come in again and go through another physical. When I mentioned I was just in 7 months ago and there is nothing wrong with my dog, the initial receptionist was defensive and said that's just policy, nothing they could do, he would need to come in if more heartworm medicine was needed.

After arriving to the vet today, I mentioned again, there are no issues, and he doesn't need another check up, I just need a prescription to continue heartworm. The vet, although pleasant, reconfirmed policy requires they charge for the "annual visit" and they will still check him out regardless of him looking good.

I will acknowledge he was up for his lepto vaccine in May, but this is something that I feel also could have been discussed with the vet originally. My previous vet would help plan out when my dog would need to be seen by a vet versus just coming in and being handled by a vet tech, which saved me some cash.

The issues I have here:

-Total lack of consideration of upcoming needs. I expect a vet to be able to plan out the next year for me with the needs of my dog. If they weren't going to prescribe additional heartworm medicine a good 5 months shy of my dog's next annual physical, give me that heads up. To just deny my claim, then expect me to have the time to bring him in AND $175 ($90 for exam, $85 for heartworm test) in my pocket for redundant charges is unacceptable.

- I was not debriefed after my dog was brought out to me. Instead, they handed him back, was asked for my credit card, and got an email saying his heartworm was negative.... a result I expected as there was nothing wrong with him in the first place.

I can't say enough great things about Seven Hills.
My 15-year-old cat has hyperthyroidism. I have been having a heck of a time trying to give her meds. Every time I call they are so nice, compassionate
and patient with us calling to try different options.
Angela has been so sweet and kind every time I call and is never rushed to get off the phone.
I work for a concierge company and have sent a few clients to Seven Hills and they were very happy as well.
I will continue to send clients there and I'm so happy I found them!!

If we could give 100 STARS we would...."Seven Hills" and their WONDERFUL GROUP of individuals are AMAZING !!!! I would recommend them to EVERYONE !!

My husband and I recently added to our family, a Miniature Schnauzer....the LOVE our lives...which is where "Seven Hills" comes into play !

We've shopped at Diamond Hts. businesses for years...passed by "SH" and always saw happy animals and owners, so when it came time to get vets for our puppy...where else could we go !! We took the opportunity to speak with clients on various occasions.....and EVERYONE we spoke with had positive and GLOWING reviews ! Needless to say....everyone was more than correct !!

The care we've received since DAY 1, has been beyond belief !! It makes taking our pup in for a visit " a treat, not a treatment" !! We ALL look forward to seeing everyone at Seven Hills !! Before, during and after visit care is unparalleled....phone calls, emails, etc....running into one of the many care-givers...everyone checks in with us ! It's like being one BIG family !!!
