This is BY FAR the most disgusting hotel I have ever stepped in. We are leaving two nights early even though they are non refundable nights. The front desk staff is unhelpful and clueless, the rooms are filthy and falling apart. The wireless internet doesn't work at all, the A/C units and refrigerators are unplugged and ALL rooms smell of smoke and mold. There were cigarette butts on the floor and stuck to the wall next to the "no smoking" sign, and the front desk said they would make note of it!! No offer to resolve the problem. The sheets were all stained and there was a USED DIRTY bar of soap in the shower. Also, the furniture is falling apart, and the toilet and a/c sound like the walls are going to fall apart. I am not a prissy person, and an avid hiker who is used to "roughing it" but this place makes my skin crawl! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Where should I start? How about the old chemical smell of the room? Or maybe the single light bulb that actually worked. How about the "pool" that's too green to see the bottom?
If you are looking for a courteous staff don't come here. If you seek basic hotel amenities you have come to the wrong place. This place should have been shut down years ago.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christopher B.Stone Mountain, GA1080Jan 24, 2015
When you give a place five stars, Yelp says that means "Woohoo! As good as it gets!"
Well, this place is about as good as it gets for a non-chain motel. We would never stay elsewhere while in Selma.
The sign out front says "Historic Selma Hotel." It actually is more hotel than motel in some ways. There's a free hot breakfast, for example. Not even the major hotel chains do that so much anymore.
My wife and I agreed that we have gotten some of the best sleep of our lives at the Selma Hotel--maybe because the AC unit hums so deeply all night, I don't know. We slept like logs every time.
You cannot beat this place locally.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ge'ylah J.Chicago, IL01Jul 16, 2014First to Review
Pros: 1) Very friendly, and helpful staff.
2) Was able to get four rooms at last minute for 4th of July, when all the other places were booked. 3) Continental Breakfast was decent. 4) Good price from bookings . com
Cons: 1) Could not bring breakfast back to room unless you are willing to pay 5.95.
2) On the 4th night of the trip, I saw 2 roaches in the room. They said they sprayed extra for the holidays so......that part could be a bit better. In as much I knew this wasn't a 5 star from the start.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pamela O.San Mateo, CA773482Jun 18, 2015
I booked and prepaid with Expedia. The address on the Expedia app was incorrect. They made me pay on site even though I had already paid. Very frustrating
