I went in to get simple oil change and was told that my 4 cylinder car required 6 liters of synthetic oil. I was very surprised that my $25 oil change would now be $71. I had just reviewed the owners manual before I went in, so I know that this is completely false. My car only requires 5 quarts of synthetic blend oil. I am every disappointed and I will never go back to Sears.

Way below competent employees...made an appointment for an alignment that should take 90mins max. Dropped off car at 11am this morning call back at 1245 and the "manager" says they're pulling it in now..like what you mean? I dropped my car off almost 2 hours ago y hasn't it been started...I had an appointment wtf
I walk over from the mall to go watch them do the service since after 2 hours it wasn't done...sit outside for 15 minutes car didnt move
I go in to ask if my car is done because maybe the "manager" thought it was a different one so maybe it actually did get done..nope
Ok give me my keys I'm gonna go somewhere else and make sure no one I know ever goes there!!! Fuck SearsHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 13, 2016
The other reviews seem very strange to me, in comparison to my visit. I had made an appointment over the phone, for just the next day, for a basic oil change. I was so happy to be able to get my car in as soon as possible. I spoke with Andrea, who was beyond polite and patient with me over the phone, and I made the first apt of the day at 8am.
Upon getting there, I realized that the GPS for Sears Auto isn't in the correct place, so I had to drive around the mall to figure out where it was located. I got there a bit early, only to have beaten the employees, so I did have to wait outside for a bit, while they opened. I first noticed how incredibly clean the store and waiting area was, which is a first for any car place I have ever had any of my cars serviced at.They also have vending machines, a tv, and free coffee. Andrea handled my car and keys, told me exactly what the mechanics would do that day, and was just so polite.
I noticed that another person came in a few minutes after me, and said they had an apt at 8am too. I saw a board behind the desk that showed that they seem to double book one hour with two people. This makes perfect sense to me, seems to be a better system than one every half hour, so everyone acknowledges that you need to get there early. I was helped quickly and sat down.
Other customers seems to be agitated but I honestly think it's because they were being impatient. I think Andrea runs the ENTIRE front office area by HERSELF. She handles the phone, the customers, the mechanics coming in and out of the office, etc. I think she did an incredible job handling everyone. She always did customer first, and then phone, in reference to everyone writing about not getting their phone calls answered right away.
The entire visit took about 45 minutes, which is an exactly normal time to get an oil change. The service was incredible and the customer service was fabulous. I wasn't up-charged on anything, and I felt good about getting my car looked at.
Would recommend this service to everyone I know! ALSO they're always coupons on groupon or directly on their website!! Check it out!! :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lila R.Phelan, CA063Sep 13, 2016
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.... I came in in the am after working a long 12 hour shift. I originally came in for a oil change but turns out I was riding around with 2 sets of tires that were smaller then my other set this caused my wheel to shake. I came in very tired and stressed... ANDREA AND FRANK were so nice and made my experience quick and easy, I felt relieved coming here even though I had these issues with my car.... This is what I call true customer service they work hard and are very good at prioritizing to make all there customers HAPPY!
One happy customer ! :-)

Made An Appointment To Come In Later On After Work For An Oil Change & After Driving Over 45 Minutes To This Specific Location I Arrive To Only Get Told That He Cant Perform An Oil Change Because He Only Has One Mechanic ! What A Waste Of Time ! I Will NEVER RECOMMEND This Particular Location ! Poor Customer Service & Seems To Be Very Understaffed As Well

Brought in my car battery to get it checked. Employees were very nice and charged and checked condition of battery for free. They had a bbq for customer appreciatiom day so we ate burgers, chips, and had drinks while we waited.

Dropped my car off this morning at 9:45 for the road trip ready package(oil change, air filter, alignment, and tire rotation) guy said it would be 2-2&1/2 hours. Got a call from them around noon saying I needed a lug nut and some other things and said it was going to be another 1-1&1/2 hours. Said ok and went and had lunch. Showed up at 1:45 and they said another 30 minutes. 2:30 rolls around and they said another 30 minutes because they hadn't done the alignment yet. I said forget it I just want to leave. No one wanted to apologize or anything. I cashed out, they drove my car around, and left the hood open. Worst experience I have had in a long time. Rude and inconsiderate across the board. This is the only bad review I have written. Things have to be really bad for me to get this worked up. I recommend going anywhere but here.

do not go to this location. i am a sears employee who loves sears and everything they do.....i called today at around 1230 and spoke with andrea who had an attitude that of which someone has when they either hate their job or are busy!!! so hoping she was just busy i i offered for her to call me back she said ok and took my number. i had to call back 2 hours later and she again was very rude, actually screamed in the phone atleast twice by this time i couldn't wait for her to call back a second time i just needed the information on my tires......needless to say i will either forgoe my discount and go somewhere else besides sears or just head to the orlando location where service is always a pleasure!!!!!

To whom this may concern:
My Husband and I have taken our Nissan Altima to the Sears Auto Center on numerous occasions and have been pleased with the service for the most part. On a few occasions we walked in for a simple oil change on a Saturday afternoon and have been turned away due to the usual heavy load on Saturdays. On Saturday, November 19th at 2:18 pm my Husband dropped off our Nissan Altima for an oil change. The gentleman (#738351 as noted on our invoice) that check the car in quoted him a 3-hour wait but said it could be "sooner than that". My Husband mentioned to #738351 that he was attending a Orlando Magic game that evening and wanted to be sure the car would be completed in the time that was verbally quoted. He also mentioned to #738351 that we would be traveling to Miami the following day to embark on a cruise. My Husband ok'd the service and proceeded to head to Altamonte Mall as he waited for the service to be completed. My Husband returned to the Auto Center about 5:30 pm and was told the car was not finished and there were still 2 cars ahead of him. My Husband called me at 5:44 pm and told me the same info. I asked why he was still there and he stated the guy was checking to see "what he can do". My Husband did not get out of there until 7:08 pm (invoice printed at 7:12 pm). When my Husband received the final invoice he noticed the time promise was 7:00 pm. My Husband would have never left the car there had he initially seen this time especially since he was attending an Orlando Magic game that began at 7:00 pm. He left the car there based on the verbal conversation he had with #738351. Needless to say my Husband never made it to the game that night and (2) extra hours were wasted waiting on a simple oil change. A (5) hour oil change is absolutely absurd!!! I don't know if #738351 had some sort of quota to meet but if he couldn't promise the car back to us within the (3) hours he quoted then he shouldn't have mentioned that in the first place. He should've turned us away as they have done so in the past! My Husband is a very patient person and gives people many chances but I think continuing to have our car serviced at Sears Auto Center in Altamonte Springs has gone on for far too long now. We are ready to walk away from this business permanently!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mark R.Houston, TX05529Oct 28, 2014Updated review
The customer service reps answer the phone with "How may I earn your business today." In reality they're behavior communicates "How may I loose your business today."
There prices and mechanics win customers, but their customer service or lack there of looses customers. The customer service reps are pleasant enough but either the reps and/or the systems are incompetent and/or there is inadequate training.
Checking my cars in and out has consistently been such a long painstaking process that I'm surprised there are no chairs in the lobby. I call this morning at 8:02 am for an appointment and am ask if I would like a call back or be put on hold. Request a call back. 1 hour and 20 minutes later, still no call back, so I call back. Rep says I just got here, it was so and so and puts me on hold for so and so, rather than apologize and attempt to help. I hang up after 4 minutes, call back and try to make an appointment with whoever answers the phone. Put on brief hold for a minute or so and then told there are no available appointments for today, only tomorrow afternoon. Make the appointment, but advise I'll probably take somewhere else if they can fit me in sooner. He missed the perfect opening to say "sir, we have no appointments but if you can leave your car with us for the day, we'll get to it today." I'm sure most of their business is walk-ins, just like everybody else.
Despite your good prices and mechanics, you are making it too difficult for me to do business with you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 23, 2014Previous reviewBeen going to Tires Plus in Orlando for 8 years and the one in Apopka for an additional 7 years. They do good work, but usually have high priced quotes that I get reduced once I shop around and they price match. Lately, Tires Plus initial quotes have been outrageously high, especially on the parts.
So on 10/4/13 after getting a quote of $1061 from Tires Plus to replace front struts, I decided to give Sears a try for the first time. The quote from Pep Boys was ~$661 and Sears was a winning $461.
Picked up my car and so far I'm happy with the job and the customer service. Will definitely make them my shop from now on.
*******
Been back a few times with my families other vehicles since October 2013 and the pricing and work continue to be 5*, however, they loose a star for very slow processing. Checking in and checking out may take what seems like forever, if there are people ahead of you. Definitely worth the wait on expensive jobs, but such a pity they mess up in an area that should be the easiest to get right. Not sure if I will use them for regular oil changes, etc., until they fix their slow check in and check out process.
