Yikes! Yelp has mistakenly tagged Dr. Peter Scholl as closed. He operated on my ear yesterday (myringotomy). AND once again, he is profiled in Austin Top Doctors. He has two offices: Austin-near Seton & Round Rock-near hospital.

Dr. Scholl has been my ENT for five years. He was recommended to me by the CEO of of one of the largest hospital chains in the country. By the time I came to him in the summer of 2011, I hadn't nose breathed in two decades. I thought my sinus problems were just something I had to live with. After a thorough intake and examination, Dr. Scholl sent me for CT scans. As he suspected, my sinuses were completely blocked by polyps, deviated septum, and other abnormalities. He performed the necessary surgery soon after. As he is big on aftercare (and prevention), he thoroughly prepared me for the "maintenance routine" that I have followed since the surgery.
It's very common for people to have recurring sinus surgeries every 3-10 years because the initial issues redevelop. Dr. Scholl's instruction on prevention and maintenance has kept my sinuses open and healthy without any relapse or recurrence for five years, and I believe there's a good chance that I won't need further sinus surgery for many years, if ever.
I still get a nasty sinus infections now and then. When I do, it's always easy for me to get an appointment with Dr. Scholl. It helps that I'm willing to drive to either location. He splits his office time between the Austin and Round Rock locations. His nurses at both locations are truly top notch. Joan is hands down the best nurse I've ever encountered at any doctor's office. Although they are an extremely busy practice, I always get a call back within an hour or two when I have a question about my treatment or medication. They've gone out of their way to call in prescriptions when I'm in another city.
Overall, my experience with Dr. Scholl has been stellar. As another reviewer wrote, he is the very best ENT in Austin, maybe in Texas. He has tremendously improved the quality of my life.
Lastly, he is super nice and funny. His bedside manner parallels his surgery skills.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
