This is a restaurant and Biergarten located next to the palace in Nymphenburg. It's located to the right hand side a bit further up when you get out of the castle after your visit. I have walked past this place a few times but never tried it until today.

The menu is a classic Bavarian fare and they have a daily specials list. They serve beer from Hofbraühaus here and it's quite ok. Not my personal favourite but ok. Prices are a bit more on the expensive side but quality is quite ok.

I had the fleischpflanzerl for main which came with a potato salad and it was quite ok. There was a thick gravy served with it and it was ok. This is not a dish that blew me away but it was nice. The Flammkuchen was also ok and the tomato / bread salad was ok.

All in all an ok experience. The Biergarten is gorgeous and I would come here just to sit under the chestnut trees and enjoy a drink. Staff are friendly and quick. A nice place for a meal if you happen to be around this area.

We had toured the castle and walked the grounds for hours and really needed some food! We are vegan and thought we'd at least find a salad here - we were so pleasantly surprised that they have a vegan option!! There's a separate vegan/vegetarian list on the menu - we shared a salad and the vegan dish (vegetables and basmati rice in a coconut curry sauce). Happy tourists!!

I've been in Germany for over a week...best Food yet! Everything I tried was excellently prepared (also, recommend ordering half portions).

Great meal with great service. English menus and English speaking waiter that went to high school in the States really helped out.

The food was excellent. The waiter recommended the Beef Roulade for my wife. Amazing!

A decent bavarian restaurant, the Schwaige is located in a side building of the Nymphenburger Schloß.

The interior is reasonably nice and classic wooden bavarian design, outside it has a nice serviced beergarden area in a courtyard. The outside area is quiet (maybe apart from kids playing on the small playground at the far end).

We were here on a very busy sunday, it was almost completely full - but the service was still reasonably quick and friendly (albeit being a bit stressed).

The food is good and ok for the price, not the best bavarian place in town but if you are around the area a good place to stop. The new chef also tries to establish some more gourmet-type menu dinners, but I can't comment on those since I haven't tried any.

Our waitress was shockingly cruel to the children in our group (the two girls were quietly drawing so I have no idea what set her off). The waitress also neglected to bring a drink and a side salad that were ordered. Later our friends pointed out to her that they were charged for their missing salad. She remedied this by taking it off of their ticket and putting it on ours, probably thinking we wouldn't notice, with our developing German skills. She then said it was too late for her to fix it and if we didn't pay it, she would have to pay it out of her tip purse. Why is that our problem? This woman really tried to scam us and then guilt us into accepting her fraud! Awful, awful service. Too bad - the setting was lovely and the food was nice.

Located in the castle itself, this is a fun little restaurant serving traditional Bavarian food. While not the cheapest location for a bite to eat, it has a very homey decor and the servers are very welcoming. Go for the traditional dishes and you won't be disappointed. We were also there at the time when the white asparagus was in season, and that was great as well.
