I tried this place because my kid needed a last minute haircut.

Although the pricing was moderate, and the cut was decent, when I got home there were multiple strands of long hair that were overlooked. And, it was in an area that I pointed out to the young lady who was cutting his hair (over his ears).

Although not unhappy - if I have to come home and trim up areas after a cut - it's probably not a place I'll be likely to return to.

I'm a guy, and I moved to OKC last Spring. The same girl had cut my hair in Tulsa for the previous 12 years, so obviously I had to find a new place to get my haircut in OKC. Even though my haircuts are not complicated, I don't like walk-in places where you get someone different each time. I've had bad luck with that in the past. It's a crap shoot more often than not. After visiting several barbers/salons (Salon 9309, Dragon Fly, etc) around the Northside of OKC over several months, I just didn't find a place/barber/stylist I could go back to over and over.

I finally made an appointment with Tina at Schardein's, who was selected for me by the receptionist. Of course I can't speak about women's hair, but Tina is the best barber/stylist for men's hair I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. She's extremely professional, has a great personality, and a NINJA with a straight razor that can only come from education and tons of practice. She doesn't use scissors at all to cut my hair, just the razor, and it results in the best haircuts I've ever had, BY FAR. Again, my hair's fairly easy. I keep it short and it's hard to mess up a haircut on me, but her technique doesn't leave the "fresh cut" look for a week after I leave. Perfect.

The inside of the salon is very elegant and classy, but not at all stuffy. There are clients of every demographic each time I visit including women and men. The prices can escalate for their expertise looking at their "menu" of available services, but in my experience, you definitely get what you pay for at Schardein's. Since my hair's easy, I pay $40 total, including a 35-40% tip, which is what I consider standard for a good barber/stylist. Very on point with the other top salons in Oklahoma price wise... and in my opinion, a STEAL since Tina's the best. I won't see anyone else going forward.

My daughter had her hair cut and blown out today. Erica was so kind and professional. We will definitely be back to see her. We had such a great experience here because of her. She is an asset to the salon. I secretly wondered if all the ladies there were as wonderful as her : )
      Thank you Erica!

I travel 300 days per year and I have gotten my hair done all over the country. I am also very picky about everything the stylist does to my hair. I have never left a place so happy about my hair as I did when I left Schardein and Company. Not only was the girl very knowledgeable and obviously more than qualified to do the job, she was friendly, and was great about making suggestions and didn't push products on me like most salons, I even ended up buying a product from her that I could not be more happy with.

I have been blond for my whole life but I'm no longer natural blond. A lot of places that have dyed my hair in the past have used obviously sub par products compared to Schardein and company because my hair would always get a brassy or orange tint to it after a few weeks. The products they used at Schardein and company were top notch, my hair color stayed looking good well beyond the time I was ready for a touch up. The salon is busy and the staff is all about making sure you are pampered. They offer wine, champagne, and soft drinks free of charge while you wait for your hair to set.

So after all the wonderful things I have had to say about this place you are wondering why only 4 stars? It was a little on the pricey side, I payed $200 (including tip) for highlights and a few low-lights. The outcome of the hair was so great the price would not stop me from returning. Also toward the end of my visit the stylist got pretty busy and had someone else, wash my hair, and style it and I did not see her the last hour that I was there. All in all this is a great place to get your hair done. I will most definitely be going back.

Got my hair done here in February at the New Talent Salon and it turned out not so great. Reese did my hair the first day, and again on the second day under supervision of Hector. I asked to have my hair lightened and cut. Cut was uneven. Highlights were uneven and varying in color. They offered to take me back the next day to fix the highlights which were pretty yellowy. They tried to correct the color and ended up going darker and orange. I wanted lighter ashy highlights and they kept telling me it wasn't possible, blah blah blah. I've had it done before and they couldn't do it here. In fact they lightened my hair more than it had ever been lightened before (so it was possible) it was just a terrible shade and uneven in color. And then they went ahead and reversed it all by making my hair one darker color.

They charged me on the second day for another color service which was supposed to even out the tone at the roots of my hair and down a couple inches, that it what ended up going through all of my hair down to the tips.

I called the salon several times over the last couple months because they were working on a "solution" for me. I was also in communication with a manager, Chris. He said they were looking at a convenient time in Hector and Reese's schedule. It's May now and I still haven't heard back about their solution or scheduling. I called a couple weeks ago asking for a refund and still am not hearing back.

I tried to check out a slightly cheaper solution to my normal stylist and ended up paying 50% more than what I would have. Also took twice as long. And it's still not right.

After a year of wearing my natural hair color, light brown, I needed highlights! So I went to one of the master stylists ... Steve Schardein. I had been to his former salon before, but never to Steve himself. He put two colors of highlights in my hair, and shaped my hair with a trim. It was fun and exciting, and resulted in beautiful hair. I love it. Thanks, Steve!

I liked the general atmosphere of this salon. It didn't feel too uptight like other ones that I've been to or the "fake niceness." I saw Logan and wasn't really sure what I wanted. I told him I wanted something low maintenance and some more definition to make my hair pop, on top of looking natural.

Logan is an insanely nice person and I'm so glad I booked with him! He told me about all the products he put in my hair and recommendations based on what I wanted to change (frizziness, manageability). My hair came out perfect.

I will definitely make this *the* salon I go to from now on.

All the "good" yelp reviews led me to this place. This salon looks like a decent upscale salon from inside and out, but the haircut I received tells a different story.
I called to make an appointment and the receptionist arranged me to Lauren. I asked the receptionist if Lauren is familiar with Asian hair and if she's able to do it. The receptionist assured me that Lauren has been working there for 7 years and she's capable of serving any ethnic groups. But after I met Lauren, she said she's only been working there for a year. I let her decide what kind of hair cut that will look good on me. Because often times it really depends on how skillful the hairstylist is and what kind of style the stylist is good at.
What she did was just using a trimmer with the same length to trim off the two sides and back, and cut short and thin out the top. There was no other techniques applied whatsoever. But my hair was cut unevenly. The top right and top left got different length. I pointed that out when I was there, but she didn't even try to compare them by looking at it from my right and left. Instead, she just trimmed the right part a bit, and now my hair looks ridiculous. Anyone without any training couldn't do a less better job than what she did.
After the haircut at the check-out, there was another gentleman who paid $5 more than me for a men's haircut by another stylist. So I assume Lauren must be a junior stylist there. I wouldn't mind paying triple to get a senior stylist to do my hair as long as they can do it right. What I received at Schardein's was definitely one of my worst haircut experience.
