Does anyone know if the restaurant plans to begin showing Chicago Cubs baseball games on the television in the bar area, as they have done in the past?

Have always loved eating here. Real Chicago.
Not anymore. Service was horrible. Appetizers cold.
Pizza was even colder. And no manager came to apologize.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 25, 2024Updated review
Four of us dined here around 8:30 Friday night. We went upstairs and the dining room was busy but not packed. Our server was right with us for our drink order and checked in often.
We started with the mushrooms and the rib tips. We really weren't sure what the rib tips would be, thinking they might be more like burnt ends. They were literal rib tips and the meat was tender and falling off the bones. Good flavor and an interesting appetizer for a pizza place. We also ordered the mushrooms and they were average.
We again went with the Sears Tower. Our server told us the wait wouldn't be as long for this behemoth because the kitchen wasn't too busy. We weren't in a hurry anyway. It came out in about thirty minutes. The pie is always good and I like the sauce on top with just a little sweetness. I mentioned to our group that this pizza would be better without all the cheese. I was met with evil looks. (It does have a lot of cheese on it IMHO).
Would return.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 26, 2023Previous reviewIt had been a very long time since we visited Savastano's but we wanted pizza and we really didn't want to take a chance on a new place. Plus we wanted deep-dish.
We sat in the downstairs bar area and I would probably go upstairs on the next visit. Servers were also serving as bartenders and seemed a bit taxed at times.
We tried the mushrooms (average but OK) and the Sears Tower. (Note that it will take about 30 minutes for this behemoth to cook.) We ordered a medium and took over half of it home. It's huge and heavy with a lot of cheese. The Hubs adored it. I thought the flavors were good but I would have cut back on the cheese. It's cool to see all the Chicago memorabilia. - Apr 7, 2024Updated review
Chicago-style deep dish pizza was a true taste of the Windy City flavor. The thick, buttery crust, perfectly folded over the toppings. Lots of gooey cheese, house-made sausage, and topped with tomato sauce left me wanting another slice... only I was too full. We decided an full adult would eat 1-2 slices on average

It was always packed in there was hardly any seating. When they move to their new location which is more than three times bigger, it lost a bit of it's charm. Also it's tucked back by the Spiritbank building and does not have great access. The last few times we've gone it's been very slow in there.
We still enjoy the pizza but the atmosphere is nothing like the old, packed, family location. Don't forget to use your yelp check in free cheese bread and ask about daily specials. - Theresa C.OK, OK011Apr 21, 2024
Food was a surprise !
Service was a bit "new"
And the restaurant was what can be expected for a pizza / sandwich experience.
We were looking for a deep dish akin to NY style - this restaurant is it !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 24, 2024Updated review
I really love Savastano's. I usually go for CONRAD HILTON HOTEL specialty pizza. The small goes for $14.
The Crust. Perfectly cooked with that little hint of yeast and pizza dough taste we all love.
The Sauce. Very tasty. Perfect pizza sauce. I've only had the marinara, but I'm curious to try their white sauce.
The Toppings. This great combination of Canadian bacon and pineapple tidbits is very tasty.
The Cheese. Stringing, warm and melty mozzarella! One of my favorite pizza cheeses out there in Oklahoma.
Next time I go I'll for sure get a pic. and fear not.... Because there will definitely be a next time.
Thought I'd mention... Monday nights they have a medium 1 topping pizza for $10
They also offer military discount.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Dec 4, 2023Previous reviewOur favorite pizza so far in Oklahoma! Nice atmosphere, great service! Monday nights it's $10 for a large carry out 1 topping. This is usually my pit stop after work. Nice hot pizza? No cooking for me! YES please!!

There is always room for pizza!
Deep dish may be polarizing for some, but our family loves it. We've been many times, and are always glad when we visit.
This pizza is best enjoyed right out of the oven, at the restaurant. The flavor is great, and these pies are not small. Don't let the diameter fool you, after a few slices, you're gonna get full!
The salad bar is great (they bring it to you) and don't forget to check out their lunch specials!
My kids love the Sears Tower (pepperoni and cheese) but I prefer the Landfill (combination). They are all fantastic!
The ambience at Savastano's is excellent! Chicago skyline, Windy City paraphernalia all around, and they love decorating for all the different holidays. The staff is great as well. Very friendly.
It take a little longer to prepare and cook a deep dish, so bring an extra helping of patience, but it's well worth the wait.
Highly recommended!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Spyro L.Bixby, OK022Apr 16, 2024
Not good... too much tasteless cheese and not enough flavor. When you take a slice from a pizza you don't expect the cheese on the rest of the pizza to flow back to fill the void... But that's what it did. I suppose some people like eating melted cheese, I prefer enough crust, sauce and toppings that I don't feel like I was just eating a pile of warm cheese.
Not that a pizza should 't have lots of cheese... but it needs to have cheese with some flavor... It shouldn't feel like you are just mainlining gobs of cheap mozzarella which is often one of the most tasteless cheeses known to man.
The service was fine. Not super fast, but given the time it did take I would have expected the pizza to be cooked a little bit more. Call me crazy but getting the right amount of browning on the cheese can make an otherwise tasteless pizza taste good... they appear to be going for more of the if its melted its done mentality which was a bit of the problem.
Save yourself the time and just stop at the Hideway and don't go back to Savastano's... Hideway is much better.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - D J.Shawnee, OK0413Apr 16, 2024
My wife and I ended our Weekend excited about Chicago deep dish and fried mushrooms. We ordered around noon on Monday. Something tasted way off on the mushrooms. We both suffered extreme diarrhea and meat vomiting the entire evening and morning. I called and emailed the restaurant to alert them so others won't get sick and to give them an opportunity to check their stock for food spoilage. No response yet.
