Small family owned business, warm hearted son representing the restraunt front, and parents cooking in the back. Great food, great hospitality.

A hoke in the wall worth getting off the highway.. Really good food, fresh pico and excellent friendly service. Pollo street tacos were packed with nice tender chunks of chicken. Partner ordered carnitas plate and gave thumbs up. Kind of glad we hadn't heard that HWY 1 S had reopened today since 101 brought us past here. Glad we didn't wait until Paso Robles to eat. We would come back if we travel by again.

What an absolute pleasant surprise. We didn't have many option's between towns, so we found ourselves in this small town. The food was amazing. Everyone in the fam ordered something different and everyone loved their meals. If you are driving past, do yourself a favor and stop in. I had the Ranchero Style Beef and loved it. #DukeOfEats

A hidden Gem in San Ardo.
Their Burrito was so tasty and enough for a hungry teenager.
The staff was friendly and the service was excellent.
I'll try their tacos next time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 25, 2022
I found this place because we were driving up from SoCal. We thought to stop bc my dad's name is Ardo and we wanted merch. The town is super small. The same family owns this place and the gas station/convenience store across the street. We met the son that owns the area. He is suuuuper nice and welcoming! He told us a little history about the town. We went to the gas station bc the cafe was closed. He walked us across the street to open up the cafe so we can buy merch which was really nice of him. He said his wife makes the merch and little trinkets there to help her with her law school costs. As a lawyer, I appreciated the hustle so I bought I few things.
If you ever pass by San Ardo, PLEASE support this business! I highly recommend this place. We try to stop by every time we drive up or down California.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Matt H.Dublin, CA1063414Mar 24, 2023
Had to pull off highway for screaming baby. There weren't many exits or options for food and just happened to stumble upon San Ardo Cafe. George is super nice and had plates of tacos and pinnapple agua fresca out to the table in no time at all. Birria tacos were awesome and just what we needed to get back on the road. Great hidden spot to stop for lunch between SF and LA.

As the other review mentioned, definitely a hidden gem. Excellent food and very friendly service/owner. I had tacos pastor and wife had a club sandwich. She commented on how fresh the produce was on her sandwich. My tacos were killer and his orange salsa was spicy and hella good! Stop by and give them some biz!

Birria is the best! Hope it becomes a new menu item.

Delicious tacos and excellent service. Very nice people. Delicious fresh meat and veggies. Kids loved their carnitas tacos and burrito. Parents loved their pastor and carne asada tacos. Surprising given the location but trust me. There is boba and some cute stickers and pencils that I typically see in the Asian stores. Very random but gives you a sense of the place and how sweet the people are. There is a gas station across the street and that's about it! You won't be disappointed.
