I really wanted to like this place! First Uzbek restaurant I have gone to in California but unfortunately I can't say it's anything impressive I will be writing to my mom about.

Price is a bit much for the quantity and quality of food. We ordered the palaf which I heard good things about I give it a 3.5/5 the meat was a bit on the dry side, rice were flavorful!

Paid $4 for a side of salad which was really disappointing. I can't say I saw the retune in value for the quantity not the quality it was $4 for chopped up one peace of lettuce.

3 stars because I have hopes for this place for now and will return once more to make a final judgement. I have heard good things about the lamb chops and grilled meat options, which I have not tried yet. Also lets see if the pile of chairs are still there they have been there past 2 times I have been there in a period of a 6 weeks.

Post in your reviews if you see the chairs!

I and hubby came to Sacramento from San Francisco, and found on yelp this restaurant with real uzbek food, i felt like i was in one of restaurants in Samarkand, lamp soup was really good, we also ate lamp chops, tri-tip and ground beef kabobs tasted uzbekish :)
Will come back again with friends ,

OMG tri-tip kabobs are champ! We will try lamb chops next time!

We are very happy with the service.

Jimmy is picky especially with cultural food. He is very impressed.

We will be regulars there from now on.

      Everything tasted so good.

It's very nice to dinning here. It's delicious, fresh and very nice smells.
It's not fancy restaurant. It's family business and they cook everything fresh

I was in town on business and went because it was so well rated. When I entered, there were new, still wrapped banquet chairs stacked up near the front. The only employees in the store were two young girls. One was sitting in an office chair behind the counter with ear buds in, listening to music and eating sushi. The other was sitting in a booth at the back of the store, doing something on a laptop. There were at least two tables with dirty dishes on them.

That being said, I figured the food must be pretty good. I ordered the trip tip kabobs with a side of tzatziki. I got back to my hotel room to find that I didn't even get my tzatziki. The kabobs were very over cooked. They were dry and largely flavorless. The rice was oddly flavored and tasted like dirt. I ate a couple kabobs and threw the rest away. They won't see me again. Never trust your business to youngsters who care more about giggling and gossiping than your business.

Drove by this business before and today I decided to try their food (I'm a huge fan of kabob). I pretty much tried all the kabob places in Sacramento such as Iranian, Afghani, Armenian etc.
So I ordered a Chicken Kabob for $7.99 and it came with Rice, Grilled Tomato, pita bread, raw onions and dill herbs.
My favorite part was the chicken which was very tender, deliciously marinated with a hint of spice!
Pita bread was about 8" round and the whole meal was very fulfilling.
The nice young girl at the cashier was very kind and the service was great!
Will definitely go back and would like to try the lamb next time!

My lamb was disgusting. Tasted like chemicals. So gross.
Everyone else seems to love this place, I guess I'm just lucky

I was lucky last Friday when I happen to be in the 65th Street Parkway near Florin when I saw bellowing smoke from the parking lot of the Islamic Center. Apparently Samarkand sets up thier traveling BBQ between 12 and 4? BBQ Kaftka Kabobs for six bucks including a piece of pita and some onions. My beef kabob was light, juicy, and full of flavors. I can't wait until I try thier Lamb Kabobs and other offerings.
