Great portion sizes and very attentive staff. Food was really good. Great ambiance feeling not too bright in the table service area.

Based on our experience, I have to give the Salty Dog five stars. We had a few hours to take in Boston and after taking a tour and getting some shopping in, we happened to be walking by the Salty Dog looked like a great place to take a break and have a drink and afternoon snack.

We were greeted by a very nice young lady and seated outside right away. I think they mentioned that only outdoor seating was open because the weather was so nice.

I ordered the patriots punch and my husband had a beer. My drink was beautiful, fun, and delicious! A perfect drink for people watching in a busy tourist area. The calamari was very well done, crispy and light on the outside and tender inside. We both enjoyed it thoroughly.

If you're walking through Boston and looking for a nice place to snack and people watch, stop by the Salty Dog!

Service is always good, I like the ambiance a lot, love the location.

I had a good experience here a few months ago, decided to come back because we were craving fried seafood. Unfortunately, unlike the first time, everything was super overcooked. From the calamari to my fried shrimp, to my three family members' fried plates, everything was way past golden brown and many of the shrimp were dry enough that they were hard to swallow.

On the plus side, the fries and cole slaw were very nice.

I don't like to complain on family outings and we were too hungry for a redo, plus the fry cook had already fried the living soul out of 5 separate dishes so I didn't have any hope, but it was a bummer, especially for the price, and we're unlikely to return now.

If you're there and craving fried seafood, it is very fresh and can be tasty.

Absolute worst customer service I've had. Took almost 30 min to get a food order going from the bar outside. Rude bartender. If I can give less than 1 star for this place I would. Run and take your money somewhere else because this place is not it.

It was a beautiful day out so nice to have a meal outside, except there where bees everywhere. The waitress just brushed it off saying well it gets sticky out here, and eventually moved our table.
I was looking forward to having a lobster roll that sounded good on the menu. It had no flavor at all. It was cold unflavored lobster an a dry crispy roll. It was edible but nothing great and not worth the price at all. I also found a shell in my sandwich which wasn't appetizing. There are better options out there.

Well to start, Faneuil/Quincy Hall was packed. We decided to eat here because of the location. I saw only 3 stars on Yelp, so my expectations were low. We were greeted with a nice girl, outdoor seating only. We started with a cold beverage, salty dog draft, came nice and cold. We had a cup of chowder. It was okay but not very hot. The lobster "roll came with slaw and fries. The bottom of the hamburger bun was so wet, I could squeeze excess water from it. I just ate the lobster from the bun. The bill came and they charged $37 for this pitiful roll. The fries were the best on the plate. I would Not recommend this place ! Go to Boston sail for the best chowder and roll. Don't waste your money. BTW, the "nice waitress " was rushed and impersonal.

Definitely touristy spot but the people working here really want you to have a good visit and are really pretty awesome employees. We stopped in and had some draft beers and the custom cocktails and then decided to go for some of the fresh shucked oysters and we were not disappointed at all.

Look this is definitely in a touristy spot but it's still a great place to hang out, get some drinks and food, and chat with friends and new acquaintances.

The lobster roll is good - ask for the salad separately. The salad dressing made the bread mushy and wet. The lobster itself was good. I also had the clam chowder; it was great. For customer service, this place is 7/10. For ambiance, it's an 8/10.

Brittney was our server, and she was awesome! The nine of us ordered lunch and beer, which were great. I had the Paul Revere Seafood Medly Appetizer as my lunch, and the batter was light and crispy. We sat in the lower dining room and felt like we were in a boat's cabin. I highly recommend this cool restaurant & bar that has been around for fifty years!!!
