Hi Alexandria, pretty much the entire menu is soy free with one exception our Dolmas. The grapevine leaves are preserved with traces of soy oil.

Much improvement over the last couple years. It's fast, good and convenient. The bowls are the perfect addition to the menu.

Flavor: 2.5/5 - Although the food wasn't outright bad, it lacked any noteworthy flavors. The lamb was very fatty and seemed to be accompanied by a bed of salad to enhance its volume, which felt a bit deceptive. However, the Baba Ghanoush stood out as tasty.
Price: 3/5 - The prices are fairly standard for a Mediterranean restaurant, but unfortunately, the quality didn't quite meet the typical Mediterranean standards.
Quality: 2/5 - The lamb had an unusual flavor that hinted at lower quality, and the salad contained several wilted leaves. Additionally, there was no indication that any ingredients were organic or ethically sourced and the cooking oil quality is unknown. However, it's worth noting that their homemade falafels seem to be a highlight.
Service: 3/5 - The service was good.
Ambiance: quick, cozy, and conveniently located.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 22, 2023
Two guys walk into Saca's Mediterranean cafe. It's a small cafe in Claremont downtown. They have a couple outside seatings. Free 3 parking is located to the back of store which is limited.
We order sandwich combos.
I ordered the Lamb shawerma sandwich, lamb is tender and flavorful, vegetables are fresh. The pickle I ate separately as it's more on the saltier side.
We shared a small bowl of lentil soup and 3 falafels which is the softest, yummy, and freshest I have ever tasted in Mediterranean food.
The combo comes with fountain drink which are craft sodas with five flavors, I tried all except for diet soda. I only like natural sugar.
We ordered at the front and food comes out quickly, staff is friendly.
Restroom is clean too.
Will be back for more after concerts!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 30, 2023
Vegan review: My friend Vallerie and I dropped in on 9/26 for a late lunch at Saca's. We are both vegan and were immediately pleased that the menu clearly indicated which items were vegan and which were vegetarian. There was no guesswork at all! I eat at Mediterranean restaurants fairly often and this spot has great pricing!
I got the Italian style falafel sandwich with lentil soup and she got the original falafel sandwich with fries. The Italian sandwich was perfect! It combined everything I like about Italian food and Mediterranean food. The pesto and sundried tomatoes were delicious. I don't even feel like trying other things off the menu, this was so good I'd order it every time. Val liked the original sandwich as well, especially the crisp pickled onions. The chunky fries were also a winner, but the lentil soup was just okay to me, so I would order a different side next time.
We also ordered a pistachio baklava and walnut baklava. They were both really sweet, but good. We agreed pistachio was the favorite. She has never had Mediterranean desserts and I haven't had them in years due to the non-vegan ingredient of honey usually being present in baklava, so we were really excited to try something new.
They have craft soda with some fun flavors like Shirley Temple, which was unexpected. I enjoyed every flavor I tried. but next time I will try the signature mint tea.
Val works in the area and will sometimes pick up lunch at a different Mediterranean restaurant closer to work, but said she'll be coming here instead from now on.
TLDR: Great spot, great prices, great vegan optionsHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 480170792Aug 1, 2023
I love their bowls! The chicken bowl is great with half salad and half rice and garlic dressing! They also have bowls that you can have with fries instead of rice which is another great option.
They also have a wide variety of desserts to choose from! I would definitely recommend ordering online and picking up later as it is easier than waiting in the restaurant if you do end up taking it Togo. You can also set up a time to pick up the food as well.
It's located in downtown claremont so there are places to sit outside and inside as well. The service here is always great and freshly made to orderHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nov 10, 2022
The bowls here are really good! They do pile it all on for you so you don't feel like you're not getting enough food. The bowl can barely contain itself to begin with! I always get the chicken here and the chicken has always been well flavored and juicy.
I love going here, especially for the prices!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 15, 2023
I love convenience! Not only do they have online ordering/payment, they also have easy curbside pickup!
I ordered online and the estimated pick up time was 6:13pm. I was a little skeptical as my order was rather large. I called to confirm the order and when arrived, was advised it would take longer. It only took another 10-15 mins. I didn't mind, but bear that in mind when you're placing a large order online.
We got the family meal for 6 and it was definitely enough food for 5 adults and 2 kids. loved the fact that the vegetables were a nice medley of squashes, tomatoes, onions, and eggplant! We got Baba ghanoush, hummus, and fries as sides. If there was one complaint, it would be that the beef was a little tough. We also got a whole rotisserie chicken. The skin was amazing, but the white meat was a little dry.
I really appreciate that they use eco friendly food packaging here. Everything was neatly and securely packed to go.
Overall I am a fan and looking forward to trying more items on the menu.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 5114193Apr 13, 2023
I came during my lunch break. My friend and I ordered online, our food was ready shortly after getting there and we were able to eat outside.
They have limited seating but there are tables and places to sit in Claremont Village. I ordered the Greek salad with chicken and my friend ordered roasted chicken. Portions were good, service was quick and staff were friendly. It wasn't busy when we went.
I can't wait to go back!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 27, 2023
I've only had a quick lunch here, so I can't give a thorough review. I can say that the spicy chicken was very tender and juicy. It was spicy, without overdone exotic flavors. All the elements in the pita were perfectly balanced. I'll have to come back and try some other things on the menu.

After spending a few hours wandering around the Claremont Colleges, we went looking for a late lunch. The village center of Claremont is right by the Pomona College campus (lucky kids), and there were many places to choose from. Since we're always partial to Middle Eastern flavors, this was our choice for today.
This is a casual restaurant in which you order at the counter before seating yourself. They had a variety of menu items from which to choose, all clearly labeled with regard to dietary preferences (e.g. vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, etc.). There platters, salads, bowls, and sandwiches. Kabobs are an option, but they caution you that it takes a little longer for these to be prepared. We asked for recommendations from the person at the counter and made our selections. We wanted to eat light since we still had dinner plans later in the evening.
Piperi chicken pita sandwich - nice seasoning (can't quite put my finger on the flavor profile, however), but the chicken was just a little dry. The sesame dressing was also good and wasn't present in an excessive quantity.
Beef kalamaki sandwich - tender chunks of lightly marinated meat wrapped in a pita with lettuce and onions. Very delicious.
Falafel sandwich - they actually have several different versions (e.g. Italian or Greek style) but I stuck with the traditional sandwich. The falafels were excellent but perhaps just a little sparse, because not every bite had falafel in it. I really liked the large chunks of pickled turnip, which provided just a bit of sweetness and acidity to the sandwich.
Prices were very reasonable, IMO - about $6.50 for the falafel sandwich and $8.00 for the meat sandwiches. A side order of fries, enough for 3 people to share, was just under $4.00. A great value for a filling but not too heavy meal.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1
