We had high hopes, but were disappointed. The service was good, however being the only two in the restaurant at the time, we were surprised that it took almost 30 minutes to receive our order.
With Cajun family members, we like to think we know Cajun food. The jambalaya tasted like tomato paste with chunks of overcooked chicken. We also had the (two) shrimp and plain grits with spicy "ketchup", gumbo, chicken fried chicken with gravy over mashed potatoes (which I ate hesitantly because it looked like slop on a plate). On a positive note, I will say that the actual flavor of the potatoes and gravy were good. Don't think we'll be going back. Also, at noon, there were only four customers in a location downtown near offices, which is also questionable...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joe H.Midland, TX11612Mar 30, 2017
This is a 2.4 rating (sorry, had to round down). Kind of surprised this joint is averaging 4. Granite, upon my visit it had rather recently opened, but there are many kinks to work out before I'll return. Please.
I was very excited for the dinner as I love a good Cajun meal. After asking our waitress for her favorite dish, she replied it was only her 3rd day and she had yet to eat there - not great start. I then walked to the bar to ask the same of the bartender and received no specific answer so... The three of us naturally ordered the "pick three" deal - I feel comfortable saying I tried a good portion of the menu. The etoufea tasted like tomato paste n rice, Sautéed vegetables like butter, jumbalaya like nothing. But I will say gumbo and mac n cheese was pretty darn good.
MGMT, If the poor quality of the food was solely due to the "pick 3", please remove it from your menu. I want to see a local Cajun joint be successful, I really do.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Fernanda B.Midland, TX311622Nov 11, 2016

Just tried out this restaurant since it was only 5 min walk from my workplace. The staff is friendly and attentive. We didn't really try seafood, just wanted appetizers. Ordered the crawfish hushpuppies, marscapone mac and cheese, and red beans and rice to share. The hushpuppies were good, but I didn't see any crawfish in there. It had good seasoning, but I couldn't find any crawfish meat in there. The mac and cheese was delicious, I wish it would have been more "hot" temperature wise. The red beans and rice, my friend said was good. It came with a salad. The prices are a little high, but I think it has potential since it is located downtown and it has a nice little bar for people to grab a drink after work. The table cloths on the table looked very cheap like one you would find at the dollar store. Overall, the food came out fast and service was friendly.

This building had housed what looked like a bar/nightclub for many years...I really don't drink so I never ventured in to it, About a year or so ago it changed to "Rue 432" and I thought it was another bar so I didn't think to try it.
A friend asked me to join him for lunch there so I did.
The atmosphere is classy...although it does feature a bar, it feels like a nice restaurant.
I got the Jambalaya with salad and macaroni and cheese. The salad greens were fresh with two tomatoes and a good Cajun salad dressing. I am no expert on Cajun food but the jambalaya tasted great to me and seemed made from scratch. Macaroni and cheese was creamy, had good flavor and was hot. I will definitely come back to try some of their other dishes.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joseph G.Odessa, TX71152152Jan 29, 2017
Maybe it's just because I had the 'chose 3' lunch special, but I wasn't impressed. The etouffee was rich and delicious, but had more of a taste of shrimp than actual shrimp in it. The portions are plenty, but for the price, I was expecting to be more impressed. Maybe I'll try something that isn't prepared ahead of time on my next visit.

What a cute little restaurant! Ate here with my 3 year old, 6 year old, husband and sister in law. Everything we ordered was great! The waitress Monica was really sweet to my kids and even hung up the picture my daughter drew :-) we will definitely be eating here again!

Best crawfish I've had in years! And the gumbo is amazing! Definitely a great place to eat, and the service was really good too.
