Royal Chinese BBQ

Went here last night when it was cold and rainy, my friend and I were the only ones here. Unassuming exterior, beautiful interior-just how I like it. The food was delicious and it was the first time I had ever tried Peking Duck! The buns were super soft and the duck was cooked to perfection--it was enough for both of us with lots of leftover. The stir fried green beans were crunchy and lovely. Our server was bemused as I couldn't stop raving about the duck and that it was my first time ever trying it. Will return.

Excellent duck, BBQ pork and they did well with my request for baby bock choy with additional garlic and ginger. The owner seems gruff but means well.

The food is good, though expensive. Service is variable. The dining area is pleasant and spacious.

Yes why I went back after we were treated so badly? I am so wrong just because my co worker wanted some roasted duck....price is high because it is almost monopoly in stl.....I ordered a whole duck and I asked if I can get a extra box for me ( I didn't even ask her to separate half duck in two boxes for me. Just an extra box) She replied then I will have to charge you two half duck instead of one whole duck ( about 10 dollar difference?)

I got my whole duck and will never be the patron for this questionable establishment for tax write off solely again.

We had our Christmas Eve meal here and everything was awesome. We loved the honey bbq pork and the kids enjoyed the chicken chow fun and shrimp lo mein. Service was excellent too.

We had Royal Chinese BBQ place on our list for a while as we make our way trying the restaurants on Olive.

We ordered a variety of items: The Honey BBQ Roasted Pork, Beef and Broccoli, the Hong Kong style Pork ribs, and the Potstickers. The Honey BBQ Roasted pork was okay. We really didn't feel like it had a lot of flavor to it. It was dry and not the best - a 2/5. The ribs were also not the best. We have tried these type elsewhere and have definitely experienced better! Another 2/5. As far as the Potstickers, it said pan-fried on the menu but they ended up looking like they were fried. The dough was thicker but not necessarily bad - 3/5.

The best items was the Beef and Broccoli - I would rate a 4/5 The beef was tender and it had the best flavors out of the three dishes. I would not rate it as one of the best we have ever had when it comes to beef and broccoli.

Another downside is that it was a bit pricey for the quality and quantity. At some point, I may try more here but will probably continue down our list first.

Great food and ambiance. One of the best dining areas of all the Chinese restaurants on Olive. The duck is to die for. Service is a bit inconsistent, but good overall.

I've been here several times many years ago but came in a night and it was absolutely spectacular



Everything from the Peking duck to the garlic green beans and the sliced pork I could go forever highly recommended Hong Kong style food. The waitress was very nice

Ordered whole Peking Duck, did not get the whole duck. They definitely short you heavy on portions for takeout orders.

service was terrible, food was overpriced and they automatically added an 18% tip to my meal without telling me on a meal for two.
