I had a really short time in between my last meeting and needing to catch my train, so I stopped in here. I got a slice of buffalo and a slice of BBQ pizza (I wanted a chicken parm roll/strombolo, but they were out).
Both slices were fine, and I think the BBQ was better. The buffalo had some sort of onion or something on it that tasted off.
This did the trick or keeping me from being hungry on the way home, but I am not going out of my way to go to Rose's.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 31, 2019Updated review
Here we are again on my own..... just missed my 7:08 so waiting for the next. Just you and me Rosie. Oh how I missed you.
Stop in here on lost commuting days for a snack.
Today I was a bit early for my train so ended up grabbing an irresistible square of pepperoni cup pizza. It was way over pepped but pretty good.
They could have heated it up more, but I didn't ask.
The popcorn is very good for a grab and go.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Apr 3, 2019Previous reviewStop in here on longer commuting days for a snack.

Pros: large slices of pizza, speedy service, conveniently located in Penn station, open until around 1am most days, has beer for purchase- bottled and draft, free refills on soda, very spacious and clean.
Cons: the pizzas are actually quite pricey. I paid approximately $5.00 for 1 slice of margarita pizza. The beer was $6.00. I've had better tasting/ hotter pizza at a regular hole in the wall $1.75 a slice pizza joint.
Would I return here? Probably. Since it's 1 of the only places that stay open a bit later in penn station.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4373116039Nov 19, 2017
I've never seen so many pizza choices!
My Yelp bud JessicaRabbit introduced me to Rose's Pizza one year as we made our way to the Yelp cruise and I thought, "these New Yorkers and their love for pizza, SMH. I hope I never get caught up in food like that".
Boyyyy! That hope flew out the door after the first bite of my first Rose's slice! I'm actually amazed that I haven't written a review before now. Thanks Yelp for those reminders **gentle pokes**
Whenever I'm in the ever exciting Penn station, hungry or not, I stop for a slice here at Rose's. I'm also a "people watcher" so there's that added bonus of eating here.
Ample seating is available. The problem is, walk with your hand sanitizer as I cannot in good conscience suggest to use the restroom facility here. I used it one visit and I wish someone was kind enough to warn me.
The dudes serving the pizza are quick! Don't get on queue if you're not sure what you want.
Beer and pizza, pizza and beer. Win!
The End.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Dec 26, 2019
Really good pizza for being in Penn Station. Heats up well when you get home (aka if you have the willpower to not eat your slice on the train). I highly recommend if you want some NYC pizza on your way home.

Pizza is Fair; It truly is was it is. If you are looking for Quality Pizza - Exit Penn Station and find one of the many great places out there "on the surface". - Nonetheless, this place serves many people who "just need a slice" - They have been around as long as I can remember. I remember eating there when I used to sneak into the City as a kid.

It's easy to say that all pizza in New York is fantastic. That doesn't make it true, but it is easy to say. Mainly because New York boasts the best pizza in America. Sorry Chicago. Roses pizza, nestled in bustling Penn station, is always a solid pizzeria. Every slice I have gotten has been fantastic. You guys know me by now, I am a traditionalist. I like a simple cheese slice. But sometimes, I'll get the Sicilian or a white or a pepperoni.
It's always great. Most of the time, these guys are super busy. There is no time for chitchat, you are in and out. If you want to take it to go to sit on the train, it goes in a nice greasy paper bag. If you want to eat on the premises, there's a fairly dirty room in the back that you can share the space with a bunch of other people. It's creepy.
It's not cheap, but it's great.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 333881281Jun 19, 2020
Pizza pizza pizza! I rarely EVER get a chance to eat pizza but when I was in New York, I had to make it happen! New York pizza is hand tossed and is topped with a dry mozzarella cheese instead of the stringy kind. Since our trip was so packed, we only ended up going for pizza on our last day at Penn Station at Rose's pizza. We heard great things about the long standing shop so we were more than happy that it was at such a convenient location for us!
Rose's pizza has HUGE pizza slices! They also offered a large variety of pizzas to choose from. I was so overwhelmed when I walked into their store because there were pizzas everywhere! The only downside is that nothing was labeled so you really had to look and figure out what was what.
While I was gazing into the pizza display window, I noticed that they also had rectangular pizza aka. Sicilian pizza. I've never been to Italy so I didn't know what made it different other than the fact that it was rectangular shaped. So, I decided to get one of those to try as well.
I randomly chose the New York style pizza. It turned out to be one with tomato, chicken, cheese, and bbq sauce on it. The crust was very thin so you were able to taste each topping on the pizza. Mother deer liked that it was a thinner crust because it meant you didn't get full off eating just the crust.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
