Once upon a time ago, probably long before the world totally fell apart, I tried Roosters Men's Grooming Center for the first time. I got a pretty great haircut. Now, as many exes over the years have told me, I'm one to philander and not simply settle down and commit.

This philandering has led to good haircuts, great haircuts, and some very mediocre haircuts. I don't feel like I've had a bad haircut recently. I probably would've had a bad haircut if I let the lady with the horrible attitude cut my hair at Boardroom for Men, but I decided to go visit ole reliable, Roosters Men's Grooming Center.

Roosters was able to see me same day. The receptionist booked me over the phone just in case. I arrived on time and was seen shortly thereafter. I gave the same instructions to my stylist that I gave at Boardroom earlier that morning. You know something absolutely crazy? She didn't argue with me. She simply made sure she understood and we proceeded.

I'm deeply grateful to Ms. Sherry for taking the full hour and really showing why a skin fade should rightfully be charged a little more than a typical cut. She did an excellent job with my hair.

Now, looking back, are there a few changes for next time? Sure. Everybody's hair behaves differently. I know she didn't necessarily believe how wavy/curly my hair can get until she saw it curl back up in real time.

I think I've found my barber until I remember that I'm not actually rich enough to live in Johns Creek/Alpharetta. Until then, I shall remain blissfully in bliss.

My cut was much much shorter than Jazmin and I discussed. During cutting, my hair was at shoulder length and I agreed to one inch up...she proceeded to cut it to the top of my ears. They need a ruler because that's over 5 inches. I am so tired of hair cutters just cutting everyone's hair the same. I thought this place would be different, but it's not. Save your money and go to Great Clips because this place is no better.

Was a great experience overall. First time going, no appointment but was taken in. Kayla did my hair and a great job indeed. She was so friendly and we had a great chat. I'll be back again.

Kayla gave me one of my best hair/beard styles I've ever had. She took the time to understand how I like my hair/beard trimmed and she hooked me up! You know if someone is trying to get it right while they're cutting your hair. Kayla did. Her cut/trim also felt great afterwards. Thank you Kayla!

I've tried a few Roosters since coming to Atlanta but it seems like, with this location, I found the one!

Trying new places is difficult with hair because you are so set in your ways and using the right person and one who you established a working relationship with who knows your hair makes it difficult to try someone else when they don't know your hair.

My previous barber raised his prices and then left so I couldn't schedule him anymore and needed to find a place bad. I tried a Roosters in the city since much of my time is spent there but wanted a place relatively closer to home and thankfully found this Roosters in Johns Creek which isn't too far from me.

As far as I'm concerned, this place won me over as I've tried one stylist here and she rocked it but are they consistent in terms of technique? Do they meet basic quality standards and are knowledgable and don't just pass off what you want and hope for the best and charge you an arm and leg for mediocre work? Some places in the city do. Drop $50 for a crappy barber and he doesn't even cut your hair and clean it up in a way that makes his work noticeable. One barber in Lindbergh I know didn't even cut my fringe in a way that is even and clean! It was shoddy work for a ridiculous price!!! So I had to know if one hair stylist here has good work but the other one doesn't... I needed to experiment.

So I scheduled Kristi. Long story short. I think I found my hair love! Kristi is amazing! Her attention to detail is spot on. Her calm demeanor is both inviting and her work is professional yet she works with you on ensuring your cut is how you want it. Like any obsessed artist, she'll make sure your cut is perfect.

I think I found the one for me now!!!

Ever get a haircut and say to yourself "yep I'm definitely coming back here" I've started coming to Roosters since COVID started in 2020. When they started to ease businesses back Roosters adapted to make a tough situation work. I always feel like I want to support local businesses and they really stood out in prioritizing customer safety and employee safety to make sure everyone enjoyed their haircut and felt safe and comfortable during rough times.

The mask mandate was one of the reasons I decided to be a repeat customer and have had multiple haircuts by the same stylist. Selfishly I will not disclose her name for fear of having her schedule booked up all the time.

The cashier at the front is also super friendly which makes the trip enjoyable

Pros:
COVID: They are the most careful about covid, ask you questions about it, take your temp.
Place: very nicely decorated, I really like it, might need a bit of pictures this and there but overall very nice.
Employees: Very friendly, really.
Haircut: nicely done, plus extra care with warm towels, quite comfortable.

Cons:
I wanted my moustache to be trimmed, it was pretty much shaved, she did not keep any volume to it. I could have done that myself.
She was very nice but not always very smooth, pinching hair until I ask her to be more careful, burning me occasionally with the heater.

So, the biggy is my moustache, something I tried to grow during the covid time and unsuccessfully trim so I was hoping they could do it. But I could have explained better what I was expected I guess so this is not all on them.

What an OUTSTANDING experience!!!
The young lady welcoming customers was very sweet... Then I met my barber, who does an OUTSTANDING job cutting African American hair. Her name is Quebec and she gave me a Philly fade that was second to none and some awesome extra care. SHE IS NOW MY "GO TO" barber. This place is AWESOME! Come on Brothas, they roll out the Red Carpet!!!

I have been going to Rooster's for the last couple of months. Vanessa is the best! Would recommend highly. Always a great experience!
