Winner winner - chicken dinner!!
Yep - that old expression pretty much sums up my Roli Roti experience. I most recently purchased half a bird from them at San Rafael Farmer's Market. Even with all the masks/gloves/6-foot distance, folks were waiting in a long line to purchase their chicken & potatoes (Coronavirus be damned!).
Sure, you can pick up a rotisserie chicken from your local supermarket for $6 - $10). And many of those are quite delicious and filling. But the chicken that Roli Roti is serving up takes rotisserie chicken to a whole new level. The birds are plump; perfectly cooked; succulent; huge; and last for days. I normally order half a chicken ($7.99) + small roasted potatoes ($4), and this is easily enough food for two hungry people.
When it comes to healthy food truck food that the whole family will love... you'd be hard-pressed to find a better to-go option than Roli Roti. This business is truly poultry in motion (pun intended)!Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Thalia F.CA, CA2073823Sep 22, 2016
I've wondered about this food truck at the Fairfax farmer's market, mainly because of people queueing up-must be great, right? I ordered a whole chicken (the menu seems slimmer than the Ferry building Roli Roti from what I see online) and it was amazingly tender and juicy-like fall off the bone tender. Yum!
The brussel sprouts tasted a bit burnt and they were super tough. I got out my paring knife and cut the tough, unchewable ends off of each and every brussel sprout, but even the outer leaves were so tough that I ended up spitting those out which made for a messy pull-leaves-out-of-your-mouth experience. The flavor was not great which is usual for me since I am usually a big brussel sprout fan.
As for service, maybe the guy was having a bad day and it was way too much energy/effort for him to smile, give more than one word answers, not mutter under his breath about his "partner" not doing his share of the work, and to not behave like we paying customers were putting him out. Yes, I know people in Marin can be a tad entitled and demanding, but we waited patiently and quietly in line and from what I saw, the people ahead of me were polite and yet... the Roli Roti guy let it be known that he was PUT OUT.
So, chicken 5/5, sprouts 1/5, service 2/5, average about 2.5 and I rounded up because the chicken is pretty darn good!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sean M.Minneapolis, MN03Aug 4, 2016
We decided to grab a whole chicken and potatoes to go. Wow, it was good! The chicken was cooked just right and is a great addition to a farmer's market homemade salad. The potatoes are catching any chicken droppings plus have a crust of salt on them. They also have a hint of lemon and rosemary. Wish we had one in Minneapolis.

Love it! Great chicken and potatoes. Tasty!
I wish they were easier to get to during farmers market season.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Craig R.Fairfax, CA50112May 20, 2012First to Review
The chicken is perfect everytime I go. Potatoes are awesome, get there early as they run out towards the end of the market. The 1/4 chicken with potatoes is perfect for one at $7.00 it's a great deal.
