I hate to see a place go downhill like Rock Dog has, but it's my understanding that ownership had changed. I've seen a difference in the quality of service and noticed that the usual staff are no longer there, only two gentlemen who aren't very helpful or friendly. The last two times I went, they were out of my usual stuff so I had to go to another store to get it. From now on I'll just go down the street to Off The Leash (great selection and prices, helpful employees) or Urban Pet (closer to home).

Excellent Eagle Rock pet boutique with pricing that matches the big chain stores. The knowledgeable and friendly customer service keeps us coming back.

this place is the textbook example of an excellent neighborhood business that really cares about the community they serve. the customer service is exceptional, and you simply will never find this kind of attention at a big box pet store.

i pulled up the other day just after closing time because my dog was totally out of food. unfortunately they were already outside closing up for the day. they saw me and asked what I needed and when I explained that my dog was out of food, they literally reopened the store, turned off the alarm, booted up the computer, and sold me a bag of food. i was amazed by the customer service.

i can't recommend these guys enough.

I buy my dog expensive dog food here. It's expensive everywhere, though. The employees are friendly and it's right next door to a good poke place, which is an added bonus. I cannot attest to the merits of the nearby dentist or the massage parlour, though the latter has a nice pink glow that reminds me of something I can't quite put my finger on or in.

Rock Dog and Cat is a great neighborhood pet supply store. Super friendly and helpful staff with convenient curbside pickup. They are the Cheers of pet stores,
where everybody knows your name.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. There's a surprising about of stuff packed into this small space. It's organized but some is high up so you may need to ask for what you are looking for. They carry a number of the healthier dog food options. I buy the Canidae brand kibble here and the Evangers wet food. It's a little more pricey than a big box store but I prefer to support local businesses when I can. They have items for other animals but I haven't paid much attention to those. I usually leave in even a better mood than when I arrived because the people are kind but don't bother you if you're just looking around.

Rock is my go to place for advice and recommendations on my ever growing pack of animals. They've helped me prepare for newborn kittens, upset dog stomachs, summer fleas, etc. Peter and his staff are genuine animal lovers. Happy to support a mom and pop place over one of the big box pet stores!

Came in clutch with honest kitchen fruit and veggie mix, not avail at bigger stores but they had it! Definitely coming back here for my dog's pet food supplies!

This hole in the wall has a lot of product and knowledge! I walked in and was warmly greeted. I asked if they had the Fluff & Tuff toys, the reason I came in. Not only did they have them, they showed me where but they had a huge selection and had great advice for this non-dog owner as to what to get for different breeds of dogs I was buying for. I got the same great service as someone who will be buying their dog food regularly there. I will be back!
