Is the Hagerstown practice friendly to larger people. Specifically, do you have any armless chairs or benches/loveseats? Than you for your response, stating that you still have people wait in their cars. Would be better if you added some benches.

I was looking around for a dentist this past week because I had a serious tooth abscess and it was making my life miserable. I called Robinwood and despite the fact this is considered an emergency, they told me they had to wait to schedule me in. I got aggravated with them and finally just told them what they can do to themselves. They are no different than Aspen Dental, and it has led me to the conclusion that corporate medicine needs to be outlawed - medical and dental practices should be private, nonprofit, or government/military and not run by greedy corporations. Corporations do not care about patients, but rather dollars. Never would use Robinwood, nor will I recommend it - I care for people too much to put them in the hands of such evil, greedy, and nasty companies. - I did hear back from Robinwood in response to the Google review I left, and basically what they said was that current patients are priority and that new patients do not matter. If they keep that attitude, they will go out of business quickly. I noted other complaints left by people too - they treat patients in an assembly line fashion, they don't have patience with children, and they seem to botch a lot of procedures. My problem though is if an emergency happens, it should be taken care of ASAP and not scheduled around "vacancies." So, I am not going to tolerate lectures anymore about why I cannot get to a dentist sooner - Robinwood is the explanation for that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We’re sorry you have such a poor opinion of our office, but we hope our Google 5 star average with 575 reviews speaks for itself. We prioritize quality dental work - and over booking our schedule with dental emergencies does not lead to good patient care. We wish you the best.
So the users of Yelp! can read our response to the Google review this user is referring to, we’ve copied it below.
Google response: We truly wish we could help everyone - particularly someone like yourself who is suffering with a dental emergency. However, as an established practice of almost 20 years, we have a large patient population and therefore our office is only capable of accepting new patients on a limited basis. We feel we owe it to our current patients to make sure we can care for their needs in a timely manner, and at this time we have been inundated with emergencies amongst our own current patient population. We are not corporately owned, and place a very high value on making sure we take the best possible care of our patients. We try our hardest to help all patients - new and old - however all we can offer new patients with an emergency are openings in the schedule in the next 1-2 business days. Anyone with a dental emergency who is new to the office is kept on record and called back if an opening becomes available within 48 hours of their call. Every visit feels personalized and thorough. All of the doctors, hygienists, receptionists, etc. are exceedingly friendly. They make it super easy to book and manage upcoming appointments. Never any waiting time. Overall a friendly and positive experience on every visit.

I took my kids to this practice and our appointments were never on time. We waited in the waiting room forever and then once they took us to a room, we waited again. I scheduled an appointment with them for myself as due to extreme dental anxiety, I had not been to the dentist since Dr. Knight retired. All the normal waiting was still in place and then they wanted to clean my teeth in like 4 different appointments to do a deep scale cleaning. Okay, though it would be a pain, I knew I had not been to the dentist in a few years, so I went through with it. When I went in for my next routine cleaning, they wanted to do the same thing, though I just had it done 6 months prior (and I am a religious brusher and flosser). When I said I wanted to refuse that, they said if I did they would refuse me as a patient. Have not been back since.

We are so sorry you had a negative experience at our office! That certainly is not our goal. We try very hard to stay on schedule and respect our patient's time. I've trusted Robinwood to take care of my entire family for over 15 years. It's always been a pleasure to go to this dental practice, not something most people would say. In addition to our regular dental care, two of us just finished our Invisalign treatments and couldn't be happier with the results. Highly recommended!

Done with you. Won't return my calls. Even after I lost a tooth and now another one cracked and a piece is hanging in my gums. Your business has really gone down hill. Very shitty customer service. Goodbye. You won't ever see me again. I guess if you're not willing to spend thousands of dollars then you don't want to help me after being your patient for several years. No excuse for this kind of treatment. People please avoid this place.

Wonderful place, have been going here for almost 9 years. I have always had a wonderful experience with everyone and it's weird that others haven't had the same. Only one dentist was ever a bit rude but they apologized for it and haven't been that way since. Sometimes the wait here can be a bit long but they are always very apologetic and explain why they are running behind.

Stay away from Dr. Appleton and the rest of those inexperienced dentist. I cracked my tooth. He sealed it up and I ended up getting a root canal under it. He figured I would but wanted to see if the tooth would heal itself... wth?! Ended up going back in for the root canal and I had to get a crown put on. The crown was THE WORST my new dentist has ever seen. The contact between the teeth gave me pain for years. Do not go here. Go to a nice dentist office.

Everyone is very friendly and professional. I don't ever remember waiting more than maybe 30 minutes. Highly recommend.
