What an awesome park. It has plenty of close parking, huge run area and a smaller section with obstacle course. Spring is here so the dirt is covered by grass. Do be careful as there are small holes from ground squirrels, but that's nature for you. Overall it's a great park, even when crowded due to the size. A dirt track goes around the larger area and many folks walk it as their dogs follow and play around them.

This is a nice dog park that is at the top of the hill. The dog park has a garbage can a picnic table and the bench. There are also a few trees that provide some shade. The park is fairly quiet and it has a view all the nearby heels and the freeway. I like the snow park because she's not many people here and it is very peaceful. you will need to park on the street. There is also some parking for people with disabilities and a ramp. The dog park is right next to a small city park that has a playground area.

Best dog park in Livermore. It has two play areas. The first is a large open field and the second is smaller with agility equipment. The dogs and owners that frequent the park are friendly. Behind the dog park is a creek of sorts that is perfect for your dog to swim and play in the water. I also recommend taking your dog on the walking trails in the park.

They just finished putting a fence up around this huge dog park, so the stars have been upped.
ETA: it really grinds my gears when people don't pick up after their dogs. I've seen quite a few people here watch their dog go to the bathroom and then completely ignore the clean up. It's not that difficult to do, they provide bags.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 4, 2012Previous reviewTook the pups here today for the first time and it was pretty nice. There isn't a fence which was fine since the chihuahua and German shepherd are fairly well trained, but it is right next to a parking lot. Only downside was no shady spots.
Probably my second fave spot after Bruno Canziani (sp?) dog park. - Tina P.Livermore, CA23739251May 23, 2011First to Review
WOW!!!!!
We have finally found the absolute best dog park in Livermore that meets our needs! Large space, green grass, and obedient dogs! The dog obedience of this park has to be high as their is no fences. Just some boundary signs.
This brand new off leash area is currently on a trial basis with the city and they have extended it's use for dogs till November of this year!
Our visit today was fantastic. There were probably 12 or so dogs there with plenty of space.
This part of town definitely needs this park! All the other parks are driving distance for anybody who lives in the south side.
There isn't any facilities yet as it isn't permanent. . So no bowls or bags yet. I did see a trashcan!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Diana Lyn Z.Danville, CA18724474Nov 20, 2011
If only our dog were more trained to return on command, I'd take her here more often! Since it's not enclosed, I worry about her running off.
The park is just a short walk from our place, this place afforded LOTS of grass and open area! The dogs when we came the one time were generally larger...but our dog still did well with them (we kept her on her leash).
I hope they make this a permanent dog park! That would be awesome...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kate L.Livermore, CA142104130Mar 10, 2014
Love this park. It's very convenient for us (we walk over.) it's a work in progress; looking forward to planned improvements. The one improvement I'd like to see is to separate the small dogs into a smaller area away from the big dogs & pit bulls.

Went by today, it was very nice, even though the large side was closed off for seeding, the small dog owners didn't mind anyone bringing their big dogs in. I rated it 4 stars solely on the small dog side, and will update when I get a chance to visit on the large side once it's reopened.
Pros:
-large plot, especially for just a small dog park.
-saw minimal dog business lying around, and for the parents that were there, they were very attentive when picking up after their little fidos.
-has a cute little bare patch surrounding the entire fence line, which is great for running some laps with your buds.
-great little creek on the premises (but not enclosed in the park, not sure why I thought it was when readying reviews and pictures, but was very disappointed when I arrived, and it wasn't. I've been to dog parks where the creek runs through the enclosed area, and boy is that great for the dogs! Especially on a warm day like today.)
-the dogs that were present, we're friendly, and no one seemed to have much of an issue with anyone. I was very hesitate to allow one of my guest dogs off the leash, as he is in tact. Sometimes, depending on the other dogs, that'll lead to some very stand offish behavior, or even some altercations. But we didn't have an issue with anyone, and we're able to play fetch perfectly fine.
Cons:
-there are two very large trees in the corner of the park, that provide great shade for warmer days, but that is the only shaded area. That tends to have the dogs and the parents pack together in that area. Which tends to get a little cramp, especially if you know anything about too many dogs gathering together in limited space. That makes the dogs pack together, and can cause for pack behavior to submerge, and no one wants that. Because that means, fights occur. Perhaps building a shaded area, or adding more trees (but they won't get nearly big enough in some or our guys lifetimes)
-there is absolutely zero seating area, unless you count the ONE plastic chair sitting in the middle of the field. It was a good thing we came on a Friday, because every other day I let the dogs play while I sit and do my homework. Otherwise we would have turned around, and went to our usual park once we saw no table.
- the surrounding fence is far to short, it's shorter than all the other dog parks we've gone to. We've been to about 4 of Livermore's dog parks (and plan on visiting all of them eventually), and this one has had the shortest fence by far. Even my little guest, Emma, could probably jump it if she really wanted to. This would NOT be somewhere I would take one of my big guests, like Pluto, or Sammie, as they could basically step over it.
-There isn't an actually water facility. There is a spicket that protrudes out of a dark and gleemy hole, but that's it. There are two metal buckets that someone so graciously donated to the park, but collective water tends to get nasty, and warm. I had to refill about three times while I was there, because my dogs would not drink it after how nasty it had gotten.
I think it's a great park, and has a lot of potential to be an amazing dog park! Great if you don't yet trust your fido off leash, but still need some great space to fetch, but we will stick to our local park :DHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Berissa C.Austin, TX1020349Sep 25, 2014
We live right behind Robertson park and I love it. Great for walks with the dog and afternoon runs

I liked that this park had separate areas for small and big dogs. The big dog side is mostly just dirt, small side was mostly grass. The first time we took our two small dogs to the appropriate side there was only one other dog in there with us. A sweet lab that paid no attention to my dogs because she was playing fetch. The second time we tried to visit there were twenty big dogs in the small side. Now, I love big dogs but sometimes they want to make a snack of my tiny pooches. We would have played in the big side but wouldn't risk a large dog entering that side and possibly hurting our dogs. I was disappointed because the owners didn't consider others when they occupied the wrong side. We didn't stay as long or socialize our dogs the way we would have hoped.
