Robert's Place

Roberts place is definitely a scene. The inside was a very loud bar which can be really fun at times the outside tables for fall and the service was really great.

It's basically bar food including a lot of seafood. Our lobster mac & cheese bites didn't taste anything other than the fried. And my husband's wings for OK.

This is probably just not the place for us, as we're not seafood lovers.

However, everybody else loves it.

Let's not bury the lede, Robert's is a total dive bar; it's also the perfect down the shore restaurant, located a block away from the beach. My favorite part of this place is the daily lunch and dinner specials every single day. They have their standard menu as well, but every single day they put out new offerings, and every single one sounds, and tastes, really good.

The Black and Blue Ribeye, and the Chirper Blackened Chicken are two of my favorites. The quality is there, it's a nice portion size, and reasonably priced considering the area.

Food is great, staff is very nice, fast and friendly. I love the picture throughout the bar. It is a perfect neighborhood bar. A great place in Margate NJ.

This is our go-to place for a quick snack and a beer when we're in the area. Enjoyable!

After a beautiful mid September beach day and shower I used Yelp to find the nearest bar and off we walked to Robert's Place. This is as close as one will get to a neighborhood bar by the ocean with a good bit of locals as clientele.

We walked inside and asked if we could sit outside as the weather was beautiful. The bartender was very friendly and instructed us to sit wherever we would like. After a few minutes a very nice server took our order. It was about 5:30 PM and at first we were the only patrons outside. Inside was at least two thirds full.

Robert's has a small selection of beer, nothing too exotic or many craft beer. We chose the seasonal selection which was Samuel Adams Octoberfest. While waiting for our wives we had another round and by this time the outdoor seating was filling up and food was being served. The food menu was fairly standard bar fare with some seafood items. The food I saw coming out looked good.

I liked Robert's and I would most likely stop by for a beer the next time I am in Margate on a warm sunny day. I did not like two things about Robert's. First it is cash only, I hate that and come one man. Second, if a patron wants water (which we did not) the only option is to pay for bottled water. Is it that expensive or that much trouble to fill a glass with ice and water? On the plus side my wife tells me they serve fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning. Not so easy to find these days.

My husband and I had a terrible meal here. We ordered the ribs. Ive never had ribs this bad. They were loaded with pure fat. They were rubbery and downright disgusting. The drinks were weak, mine was served in a dirty looking cup. This place is gross, and dingy looking. It doesn't belong in Margate. Sooo many better places to go even for a casual bar night. Never ever again. So gross

awful service , rude, caters to college kids . food was fair at best and expensive . so many other choices that are so much better for this type of money I am atmosphere. Was so disappointed as I heard so much about it. The waitress was very rude and so was the actual manager. They do not care about their customers all they care about is making a quick buck.

Rude and unprepared service. Very unprofessional. Tables were dirty. Food was not good. We had been many times I the past, but this place seriously went down hill.

Best local place on the island. The first time we went we felt like we belonged. Friendly. Comfortable atmosphere where you can be yourself. I found out I worked with a family member of the owner and treatment remained constant except now people remember me and I'm officially a local. Don't get me wrong, outsiders are welcome. Great bar food with awesome pub dishes usually on specials. All beer is bottled of can. Sorry no draft. Come see the new outside summer place in the back. A nice touch for a place that's becoming so popular it created more seats. See you there !

My husband and I brought a friend here for a drink and a bite to eat . This place had been recommended so we thought that we would give a try .
I had mussels with white sauce (tasteless). Our friend got 4 shrimp and mozzarella sticks . My husband got the King Crab legs at market price . They where so soggy you could bend them . We tried the cracking tool but it just mashed the legs. So he had to cut them open with a knife just to get to the soggy crab . We complained and the chef says that is how they served. I am guessing boiling them for God knows how long instead of steaming them . Market price was $50 for 3 legs ! Ridiculous! Will not ever go back or recommend it ANYONE.
