River View Wine & Spirits

Think of River View as your friendly neighborhood wine store. Place is decently sized with a skew more towards wine than liquor. It's also catty-corner from a parking lot which is damned convenient. My favorite part about it is the owner; he's always there, knows his stuff, and is a genuinely nice guy; if I had a nickel for every rude person working in a liquor store, I'd have a fuck of a lot of nickels. Prices are very reasonable too, especially for a place paying rent on Main St.

Main drawback here is that the selection could be a bit better. They are more focused on curating a good list of alcohol options than a large list of alcohol options. If you come here expecting a massive selection you'll be disappointed, however if you just come with a general idea of what you want/asking for a recommendation, you will be happy.

River View offers a well-curated collection in the heart of Tarrytown's downtown. While I've purchased wine here with good results, my expertise is mainly in spirits.

The selection of spirits is concise but well-chosen across all price points. Bourbon, for example, ranges from Evan Williams all the way up to high-end regional distilleries like Hillrock. And while the inventory is not as comprehensive as at other local stores, there are a couple of unusual and delightful finds on the shelves. They also carry an excellent selection of bitters, which I appreciate.

The spirits I looked at were consistently tagged at fair market price. While I didn't spot any outrageous deals, I also didn't see anything marked up.

I'm perfectly content with my experiences here, and I'm rating it at four stars only because there are other local shops with similar pricing and wider selection. If you happen to be downtown and need to pick up a bottle on the way home, it's a lovely place to stop in.

We love this place. My partner and I come here almost every weekend for some wine. They have a nice, fairly global selection. And also a good selection of spirits. Some unique! The best part, because it's locally owned, if you don't see what you want they can order it for you!

They have a great selection of wines. Always feels like he has something new for us to try. He also keeps my favorite whiskey in stock. Super friendly and welcoming.

The owner (Will, we've come to find out after many visits) is super nice and helpful. Always in a great mood, and very knowledgeable of the wine they carry. When we're lazy, he always has several suggestions. And we're never disappointed! Overall, great selection, great service and great hours.

Small shop with a good selection of wine and spirits (no beer). High-end whiskeys and premium vodkas are available. Not a place to go for a handle of well vodka.

Although they don't have the largest selection of wine the store is well edited and organized. Owner Will is always eager to provide assistance if time is short and you need to get back to the party. They offer a wide price range so whatever your budget you should have no problem finding a nice bottle.

Poor staff that was unfriendly and Small selection. I've been to the other liquor store on Broadway, grape expectations and it is better by every measurement.
