I had many problems with my heat pump installation by Residential and would not recommend them. First, when I was dissatisfied with one of the mini-splits (I wanted one that delivered colder air), Tyler refused to work with me on replacing that unit with a better model, even though I was willing to pay. I had to get the owner involved to do the exchange. Second, I found out after 4 mini-splits were installed that they had butchered my ceiling joists and did not frame them out properly. If left that way, my ceilings would have started sagging within a few years (according to the inspector that I asked to check it out). Finally, I lost count as to how many times they were late, or just flat out missed appointments, without ever calling. I've done a lot of remodeling, and Residential was by far the worst company I have ever dealt with.

I'll start by saying we deserve a poor review from this client.
Not every project goes as smoothly as we strive for and while the end result on this one was a well installed and superior performing high efficiency system, we fell far short of our goal of 100% customer satisfaction.
The project was installed in coordination with a remodel and there was a communication breakdown in reference to the delegation of the framing supports for our ductless ceiling cassettes to her contractor. It wasn't that the ceiling joists were butchered as the homeowner claims, it was that our ceiling cassettes weren't framed in around at all after installation at the owners desired location, which required cutting existing framing. We believed the necessary reframing was going to be performed by the owners contractor after we were no longer onsite. Ultimately the homeowner’s contractor performed the necessary reframing (which was the client's preference).
As for the one mini-split mentioned, our comfort advisor, Tyler, was not made aware of the desire for a 61° set point for cooling in one room until the installation was completed. The initial request for the space was for “extra cooling”. The system was sized to provide the volume of cooling needed to achieve the lowest cooling set point on the unit which was 65 degrees. The unit was selected by the homeowner for the most aesthetic finished appearance within the space. We ultimately changed the unit to a model that offered a 61 degree cooling set point at a discounted price, but the change required additional ceiling reframing.
I have the utmost confidence in our team’s ability to design and install a well performing, highly-efficient HVAC system that meets our customers’ expectations. Even when projects hit rough patches, we have the tenacity to stick with it to make sure our 100% customer satisfaction policy is adhered, too. We just finished our second project. They again did an absolutely wonderful job. Love them.
The project team, from Sabrina in the office to Abel and Noel in the field were awesome to work with. The project was on time, on budget. and exceeded out expectations.

Giving 1 star based on one of their employees driving wreckless in a company van on blossom hill in a company truck. Just not smart!
7am on 3/28 if a manager wants to check who had the van that early. Turned from Snell onto blossom hill Rd going about 55 then sped around 10 cars only to cut someone off getting onto the onramp to 85. In a company van!! People been getting hit on blossom hill... Thank you for the information. We have GPS in all our vehicles and have identified the individual responsible. He is currently being disciplined by senior management. There is never a reason to speed or drive wreckless. Our employees are constantly reminded that they represent the company at all times when in company vehicles or wearing company attire. Our apologies and it is being addressed as I respond to this review.

Tyler and his team installed a new electric heat pump at my house after my old gas furnace died. They completed the job on time and came back later to check on the system performance and add a few modifications. I was pleased with the service and plan to use them again for future projects.

For the quick response from management on the employee wreckless driver. Not trying to get anyone fired, just like people to think twice. I'm sure this company is great and don't want to damage their reputation as a heating and air business based on how one of their employees decided to drive this morning, Thanks for letting your employee know to slow down especially in a company van.

I submitted a new request via the website and received a voicemail the next day saying that we can "definitely can schedule a consultation". After I called Residential Heating and AC back I was informed that my address, which I had provided along with my phone number, was outside their service area. It would have been nice if this had been addressed prior to my calling back.

We used Residential Heating & Air Conditioning to replace our 50 year old gas furnace with a heat pump, so we can have safer & more efficient heating, and enjoy cooling in the summer as well.
This company's quote was competitive, and they were very easy to work with. Their crew (Abel, Ray, Nick, Noah, Tyler) always arrived within their promised time window, they kept our place clean, and they installed everything exactly as promised, with no surprise extra costs. Though I'm no HVAC expert, the quality of their installation seems to be very good, and we had no trouble with the city permit inspection. I also appreciate that they followed through to work out some small adjustments/kinks after the installation was complete.

I switched to Residential Heating & Air Conditioning 6+ years ago. They have been great to work with. Fantastic service and very professional. As an example, this morning prior to my appointment I got a text indicating the technician's name, history with the company and certifications. Jim did a fantastic job. He was polite, professional and went the extra mile to check a few things and explain them to me. A company that treats customers well and employees well is the kind of local companies we need to provide services in our community. Highly recommend them.

They did the install and explained at every step. Everyone I met during my renovation looked me in the eye and explained things clearly from planning to making it right. When there were some installation adjustments - they were right on it with fantastic customer service, no questions asked ! My GC loved working with the Residential Team the best sub by far - he said. My new A/C is so quiet (inside and outside) and efficient. If I am sitting in my backyard I can only hear my neighbors AC now. I can't recommend this local business enough.

We called Residential HVAC to come and check a possible gas leak from our furnace. Didn't call PG&E because if they found a leak they would shut off the whole gas line. Since it was cold we thought an HVAC company would fix the leak. They were quick to respond and made an appointment with Jim Stragalions. He was very through and did a great job inspecting and cleaning some corrosion. We were really happy with his work. We highly recommend this local company.
