Randy and the other super tall guy were very helpful. They took the time to go over all the stuff I needed and wanted. And helped me find a great bike with a removeable child seat carrier. I highly recommend. They are very friendly and I fully support small businesses as often as I can especially with excellent customer service, I will return again for future purchases and all my "other" bike needs. Now off to the trails.........
P.S. Super awesome regular customer/guy that helped me put on the Thule bike rack on my SUV in the parking lot. Friendly people are awesome!!! I greatly appreciate it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 22, 2015
The Staff at RC&F are outstanding! I have been very impressed with there knowledge of anything cycling. The Trek I purchased has been excellent. The Staff are very helpful but don't pressure you to purchase things you don't really need. Totally professional!
I also enjoy riding in their Reno Cycle Club.
Thank You for ALL your Help...

Checking in again. Just got my road bike in and out on same day service. Admittedly I couldn't get my brakes dialed in, but they did!
I feel welcome when I'm here. Thanks again Reno Cycling!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 27, 2013Previous reviewI usually do my own cycle maintenance yet I got in over my head when I went to replace my front fork.
Not being interested in beating the living hell out of my crown race in the upstairs apartment and irritating my downstairs neighbors I gave Reno Cycling a call and requested an appointment.
My bike is my only source of transportation and accordingly I needed service done while I waited, and I got exactly that. Total service time was less then half an hour and the mechanics were sensitive to my needs. They brought out and sized the fork length with me prior to making the cut.
I was treated exceptionally well and am completely pleased! - Jim B.Reno, NV06May 27, 2016
I purchased a bike there and have had a few service needs. Nice store but overall, I am not pleased with the value received with them The last service was performed and I was "talked into" re-doing my flawless tubeless tire set up. It was a $75.00 up-charge. The next day without riding, my tire was flat and I had to take it to another shop that informed me the installation of the tubeless was wrong. I'll not go there again.

After experiencing the worst customer service from Reno cycle and fitness I called Trek customer service. Talk to a awesome gentleman and told him all the problems I had with my purchase at Reno Cycle and Fitness. Trek told me they would call me back after they contacted Reno cycle and fitness. Trek called me the next day and had solution to the problems with my bike. Trek customer service was very disappointed in Reno cycle and fitness and told me I should go over to Scheels to get my repairs done. Trek gets five stars on service for replacing my back part of my frame and giving another chain. Scheels also did all service for free. Scheels also gets five stars. If I could give Reno Cycle and Fitness zero stars I would. Just beware of this local retailer. Go to Scheels because you can get the same bike $200 less and they have great customer service.

The manager is rude and can't even fix my EX 7 that is brand new that I bought for $2800. My rear skew was broken and he just used grease to make it look like it was replaced. The other manager said he must have over looked the broken piece, but I handed him the skew and the broken pieces. The chain on my EX 7 goes between my sprocket and frame. Now on a new bike I have weld that is getting eaten away on an thin aluminum tube that will not last for very long. The original chain broke because of this reason. All he did was put paint over scratch and not one person could tell what kind of work he did on my bike. Everyone in the bike shop just told me, " I didn't do any of the work on your bike." My bike sat at the store for a whole week when they order the bike and I did not even get a call my bike has arrived. I had to go into the store to ask if my bike has arrived. I was told by a sales associate that they had no payments and interest for a year and all the manager had to say about that is, "Obama passed some law." Also, I had a cable that the factory did not install correctly and I was charged by Reno Cycle and Fitness. If any of their buddy's come into store they will stop assisting you and hold long conversations with their friends. Just beware of this bike shop and you will have nothing but headaches from the poor management.

To say we are novices when it comes to cycling would be an understatement. Our experience has been limited to childhood playtime and the old standby beach cruiser as we have gotten older. We have decided to explore cycling a little more seriously with a mix of 80/20 road and hardpack. We talked to Sean who was super chill and completely understood where we were coming from and what our intentions would be and set us up with the perfect bike for our needs, the Trek Neko S. He didn't pressure us to buy anything high dollar or low dollar, only what would be the best fit for us. Sean spent about 20 minutes with us going over the adjustments, getting the bike setup, and normal maintenance items.
Honestly, I felt a little naive when asking some questions which he probably felt were very elementary but he still answered every question in basic layman's terms. Oh, and don't think that because they are a strictly a bike shop that they more expensive than any of the big box sporting goods stores, they're not; as a matter of fact they came in lower on the same models we had seen elsewhere. All in all - great experience, thanks Sean!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Debra K.Reno, NV08Jun 13, 2014
The guys at this bike shop are fantastic!
They put my aero bars on my bike for me tonight even though they were near closing for the night and there were some snags because I didn't know that the brakes on my upper handlebars would make it more difficult. They really came through for me and I'll definitely be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex L.Reno, NV45132May 5, 2016
I had a great experience at Reno Cycling several weeks ago when I purchased my Trek 520. They helped match me up with the perfect bike to ride around town with, and with a lot of discounts to boot. I've already put 400 miles on the bike in the short time I've had it, and I'm loving my intro bike!

I initially purchased two new TREK's through a young man there who typically works in service not sales. He was very customer friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. The bike's I chose with his help worked out wonderful my daughter and I am enjoying them very much.
The problem and reason I gave this company 1 star is because of another gentleman who's name I also cannot remember. I brought in a old TREK after my purchases to file a claim through TREK as it's frame was cracked; TREK has a lifetime warranty (supposedly) against defects in their frames. I submitted the claim though this tall lanky man, who struts around like a disgruntled manager. He was very smug and barely helpful. The entire time you talk to him you feel as if you are wasting his time (does not belong in customer service). I digress, the claim was filed to TREK trough this company, after several weeks of waiting for a response, I went in to check its status. Initially the same helpful young man I initially did business with preceded to tell me that a TREK representative came to look at my bike and determined the crack was due to environmental failure rather than a manufacturing defect, therefore they will not be repair/replace the frame. I immediately thought to myself two things: The rep may be experienced, but is he a metallurgist or something? How is he sure the crack was caused by a freeze/thaw cycle within the bike frame. Secondly, this "environmental frame crack" response is very convenient as TREK has a warranty reputation to uphold.
After not being satisfied by the rep's response given, I asked the young man If I could contact the TREK rep. He went to check for the "ok" and here comes "Mr. Smug", who tells me I cannot contact the TREK rep as he does not speak to customers, they are only allowed to talk to him (What is this? Mob tactics?). I said well I am not satisfied with his decision, and want to speak with him further about it.... So apparently, this mysterious man who may, or may not exist...; his word is law and is not to be questioned. His word is final and I may not talk to him... That makes me even more suspicious.
-Be wary of "Mr. Smug" and separately, TREK as they could be running a scheme on their warranted products! My opinion, go to a brand a little less shady with their tactics. TREK lost a customer for life, not because of them not honoring their contract, but by the way they went about it, I will forever have questions lingering that will not be answered, poor business strategy if you ask me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

To be fair, we did our best to resolve this situation. The "crack" in the frame was a result of the bike being left outside and water freezing in the frame and fracturing it from the inside out. We initially cautioned that this type of damage may not be covered under warranty but that we would submit it and see what happened. Trek decided this damage was not a result of a manufacturing defect and we did our best to communicate this. We appreciate the feedback and will get together with Trek to see how we could better handle this type of situation in the future.
