Opened in 1936 with 697 seats this elegant theater is often seen in the backdrop of movie premieres taking place across the street at the Village Theater. Its wrap-around marquee can be seen from all four streets which intesect at the theater.

This movie theater has been here for decades! And the amazing thing is they still kept some of the old decors. It is also a BIG theater, like movie, theaters used to be.
Seats are OK, not as comfortable when compared to those in more modern venues. But there is a nostalgic ambience here -- some thing that reminds you of how going movie used to be years and years ago.
Parking in Westwood can be frustrating, however, if you're patient you just my find, a street parking spot, and there a few lots close by.
Many restaurants within walking distance, so this is a great place for a movie plus a meal type of outing .Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Came here with a group of friends to watch the Barbie movie. I've never been here before, it's just one theatre and it's pretty small but it's kinda cool to experience something different. I pass by all the movie premieres they do so it was nice to see the inside where all the celebs go. Theatre was very clean and staff was great. Popcorn was yummy. Icee was pretty much melted by the time I got to my seat. Not sure if it's just because it's so hot lately or if there was something wrong with the machine. A lot of people say the seats are comfy but I did not find them comfy at all!! Half of the group likes the seats the other half didn't so I guess it comes down to personal preference.

A Westwood staple, the Regency Bruin theater hosts any number of premieres and events. I've watched at least 12-15 different films there and it has always been a pleasure. The seating is old fashioned and but otherwise the anbiance and staff are amazing.

Another beatiful, historic theater in Westwood Village. I've been going to see movies at the Bruin for over 15 years!
Why do I like it? One big screen (more rare these days), beautiful architecture and nice decor inside, comfortable and comfy (one screen theater remind me of my childhood).
Decent sound and picture quality.
I love walking around the Village before and after the show, having a meal or at least a treat!
Little trivia- it is featured in Tarantino's "Once Upon a time in Hollywood". So yes, it is a filming location as well!Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0Business owner information

Cool theater! We saw Barbie here and it was fun. It is, of course, and older theater so definitely don't expect anything modern. But there is always plenty of seating. It's located in Westwood Village, which is also a cute little area. We just found street parking, but there's also a lot nearby. Would recommend coming here at least once, especially if you're into vintage-y theaters. ;)

I was pleasantly surprised to see a movie in this theatre. I've lived here for over 10 years and have never gone to this particular spot. I always thought it was just for premieres but I guess I was mistaken because they were showing all the new movies like Black Panther's Wakanda Forever which I was there to see. This theatre was packed with ucla students but there were also other adults who just wanted to see this amazing movie. The screen was big, they had all the concessions most theaters have. The popcorn was delicious! There were tons of people in the room where we watched Wakanda Forever in. Everyone was so into the movie that it made it really fun. I still wore my mask when I wasn't eating to stay safe.
I'm glad we went to this theatre because I normally go to Century city AMC which is $10 more along with more expensive food and drive time. Only thing that bothered me about this theatre is that I bought my tickets before hand online because I was afraid they would sell out. It was Veterans Day when we went but online didn't give me a military discount (my boyfriend is a vet who I went with) All day different stores and companies were thanking him for his service by giving free/discounted meals etc. So when we were at the theatre I asked the manager if they were having a Veterans Day discount and he said no only military discount if you buy right there at the box office. So it was too late since I purchased my tix online two days before. I wish they would have at least honored a popcorn discount or something. My boyfriend was Disappointed with that. But besides not getting the Veterans Day discount, everything was great! And this will now be my new go to movie spot!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Latest blockbuster sold out at the AMC and The Landmark? If it's playing at The Bruin, it will be no problem! This classic theater is much bigger than the multiplex theaters - so even though they don't reserve seats, it's so big that you should be able to find seats without problem.
We recently came here when Toy Story 4 was sold out, except for the first couple of rows, at our local multiplexes. We saw the first showing, a bargain matinee at $11 and were able to arrive right before the movie started, buy tix and find seats easily. There's not a very steep slope, but the theater is so large, that you can procure unobstructed views. The seats aren't as comfortable, but it's a small price to pay.
If you buy the collectible tub for $10, you can enjoy free refills for an entire year! We did not get popcorn so I can't vouch for whether it's with eating.
Sound in the theater is great with the stereo separation. Oh, and on our way out, they were actually offering mints (not that I took one, but still, it's a nice touch)
Free 2 hour parking in the Broxton garage if you arrive before 5pm, with $1.50 for every 20 minutes afterwards.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The Bruin Theatre is old-time and it's what going to the movies was like years ago.
A classic place with the original architecture both inside and out.
The experience alone of just being here is worth the price of admission.
Clean and a great staff.
A must for movie lovers.
