I stopped by here on a Saturday evening last month with my wife and her parents for dinner. We were looking for a pizza place to eat dinner whenever we found Red Rosa Napoli Pizza on Yelp. It is located in a strip mall right on S Western Ave and was pretty easy to find. Red Rosa is the type of restaurant where you walk in, place your order and then take your number to your table and wait for your food. As such it has a large version of the menu on the wall whenever you walk in so that you can place your order. Beyond that there was also a display case with a number of gelatos in it and you could see the area where they were making the pizzas as well as the pizza oven itself.
For dinner on this evening my wife and I decided to split an appetizer and a salad while each ordering our own pizza. So we started out with the Brussels Modena for the app and then the walnut Gorgonzola for our salad. Pizza wise my wife went with the pesto while I went with the carne robusto. As you would expect, our app came out first. The menu described it as brussel sprouts with golden balsamic, Gorgonzola and crispy prosciutto. I thought all of the ingredients tasted pretty good, especially the prosciutto and gorgonzola. However, the brussel sprouts were a letdown for me as they were cooked to the point of being somewhat mushy. While I don't want my sprouts raw, I would like some bite to them. After that our salad came out which the menu described as mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and a walnut Gorgonzola dressing. Both my wife and I really enjoyed this salad as the greens felt healthy and the dressing had a good flavor to it. Last but certainly not least were the pizzas. The menu described the pesto as basil pesto sauce, Parmesan and smoked mozzarella while the carne robusto was described as tomato sauce, Italian sausage, capicola, pepperoni, spicy salami, basil, fresh mozzarella and Parmesan. Both pizzas ended up being really good. The crust on both of them was cooked to a nice golden color on the edges and had a nice crispness to it. On the pesto pizza the pesto sauce was clearly the star and gave a great basil flavor which was lovely. Then on the carne robusto it was the meats that were the star. They gave a nice salty and spicy flavor which I really enjoyed. The basil was a nice addition here too as it added some freshness while the tomato sauce was needed to cut the saltiness of the meats. By the time I was done eating there was nothing left on my plate nor my wife's.
The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. All of the food here was good and I thought that it was reasonably priced as well.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Katie H.Harrisburg, SD512811Aug 6, 2019
We LOVE Red Rossa. This is one of our favorite spots for carry-out in Sioux Falls. My personal favorites are the Almond Chicken salad and the quatro formaggio pizza. (I sub out Gorgonzola on both because its not my flavor of choice and they are super accommodating.)
When we have friends and family over and want something quick but not greasy - this is our #1 choice. We are lucky to have Red Rossa in Sioux Falls. Highly recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ryan P.Sioux Falls, SD05542May 16, 2019Updated review
Hello all of us still wondering about the guy flipping an 18 inch pizza for you to receive a 4 inch pie.
It's been a year and I still have not heard back from management on my last review. They stated they wanted to reach out so I happily reached out. Provided all my contact information, not once, not twice but multiple times over the course of 2 months. You would think that I would be shocked about this, but in reality their Management must be just as big a mirage as the pizza flipper.
Honestly after living in Sioux Falls for a little over a year now, the only half way decent pizza is at Mackenzie River. Don't waste your $16 to leave hungry. Go spend $12 at Mackenzie River and leave happy, or so like we did and just move out of Sioux Falls.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

May 13, 2018Previous reviewSo we decided to take the family here for Mother's Day as it was my wife's choice for dinner this evening.
It was quite busy given that it was a Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. central standard time on Mother's Day. We decided to go with some simple selections just the Wisconsin Mac and cheese couple pizzas margherita style of course Some cheesy bread and a 1/2 Caesar salad.
So given the fact that the westconsin macaroni and cheese was the most disgusting thing I've ever put my mouth on my entire life family including my wife and 4 children all agreed we will start off with that. The thing is how could you possibly screw up macaroni and cheese well Red Rosa does just that. I got more flavor from a Box of instant Kraft macaroni and cheese that you throw in a microwave than I did at this suppos'd homemade on the spot macaroni and Cheese westconsin style from red Rosa. The noodles although Al dente were fine the texture was OK the part that became disturbing was the fact that the cheese had no flavor when have you ever had a macaroni and cheese and it had no flavor my eldest son kept stuffing it in his mouth hoping for some type of flavor to finally explode and yet it never did he stopped eating after 3 bites because he just felt sick. Needless to say 2 bowls of macaroni and cheese minus a few bites here and there were left at the table just disgusting.
All right now let's start talking about the pizza so we ordered 3 large cheese pizzas now of course at most pizzerias when you ask for a cheese pizza they give you a pizza with cheese on it there must be some type of language barrier at red rossa as we asked for 3 cheese pizzas and what we got were 3 pizzas the size of a plate with sauce and two globs of mozzarella cheese now they call these Margarita pizzas but I do believe that when I 1st started speaking to the gentleman at the counter ordering the food I said cheese pizzas meaning I'd like to have cheese on my pizza needless to say none of us really cared for the pizza it was actually very bland again the sauce had no flavor the cheese was not there it was not even relevant there was no cheese at all there wasn't even enough cheese to say that I tasted the cheese so once again it sat there with the macaroni and cheese to delectable cheese foods that tasted horrible I'm flabbergasted at the fact that this place has 4 stars I don't understand it and completely oblivious to the taste of people here in Sioux Falls I'm just shocked.
As for the half Caesar salad that my wife order for Mother's Day when we walked into a restaurant and they know it's Mother's Day you think that they would go above and beyond in ensuring that the salad is spectacular knowing that it is for a mother we brought in are for children it was very apparent it was a Mother's Day and she was a mother as she is a beautiful mother the salad was only decent nothing above and beyond nothing extraordinary nothing that made you blow up in your mouth nothing like that but the topping on the Caesar salad was the wonderful hairs that she found that's deliciousness in a bowl.
Also I would like to know what the deal is with the guy at the front counter flipping the pizza dough in the air to make it look like you get an 18" pizza butWhen you receive your pizza it's barely 7" I mean what is the whole point of him standing there flipping pizzas in the air is it a trick is it their way of deception how many people ask what is this was the receive their pizza I mean really if you step back and think about it that's almost false advertisment to see a guy flipping a pizza that looks almost 18" large and then he received a 7" pizza deceiving and disgusting.
We all did agree though that the 2 best things that were there was the water and the cheesy bread that they gave you which is really nothing more than a cheese pizza without the sauce I mean maybe next time wait let me rephrase that because we will never visit there again but if you happen to visit their just ask for cheesy bread and you might actually get a cheese pizza don't be shocked and don't be afraid that's just the way it's made. - Heather W.Sioux Falls, SD03Jul 7, 2019
Stopped in because we had a big Soo coupon for buy 2 pizzas get 1 up to $10.50 free. We wanted to order 2 regular pizzas and get a kids meal pizza that had a value of $4.75 free. The cashier was unsure if she could and asked Zach the manager who just shook his head like we were trying to pull something, it actually would have saved the business some money since it was cheaper then anything on the menu. Didn't even come over so we could talk with him about it.
We ended up ordering 3 pizzas and all 3 were delicious but the attitude of the manager was surprising since the gal up front was apologetic and did her best to make sure we were happy so shout out to her for being so positive!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 7, 2012
Been visiting Sioux Falls for many years now, and frankly am a bit ticked that no one has led me here before now! All four of us ordered different pizzas. Two of us had wine. Wine was a good price, but too hot...should be kept a bit colder, however didn't stop me from drinking it. :) (okay, nothing does).
Pizzas came out at different times, and one was completely wrong, but the attitude was so RIGHT. They cared that it was not right, and fixed it immediately.
Quality ingredients, and very delicious!
If you're in Sioux Falls and craving pizza, this is sooooo where you need to go!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jonathan A.Fort Meade, MD686643Oct 25, 2020
I visit here once a year when I'm in town and was disappointed it was closed when I was back. Although slightly overpriced, the unique selections of pizza and soda make this a stop every year. Don't pass up this place, it's great!

Visiting with family and had a great dinner here last night. The pizza was delicious and had a authentic Italian flare. This is certainly not your average cheap delivery pizza. It's slightly more expensive than that average crappy delivery pizza, but it's definitely worth it.
P.S. - The gellato was amazing and was a welcome after-dinner treat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julie N.Lincoln, NE13269116Aug 27, 2018
Good grill fired pizza that is fresh because they make it while you wait. I'm spoiled with my own pizza oven at home.

Prices seem high for the mediocre experience. Used to look cool but now it seems slightly dated. The food itself is satisfactory but nothing special.
I would suggest PizzaRev instead if you want a better pizza and atmosphere for the price.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ed S.San Francisco, CA01Nov 8, 2020
