This was my first time at this restaurant. It's on the 5th floor of the 900 n Michigan building. A pretty quiet building. There is construction in the building so I assume that's why there wasn't much foot traffic. Our server was excellent. She was there every time we needed her.

We ordered two of the daily specials. One was noodles with fresh corn and shrimp. The 2nd was salmon with spinach. We split both entrees and cleaned our plates. Very yummy!

I usually don't get dessert but we could not resist the warm cookie with vanilla gelato. Also delicious.

      I'll definitely return.

Frankie's is a hidden gem in the Gold Coast. My husband and I recently had our wedding here, and we could not have been happier. Allison, our coordinator was a joy to work with and made our special day even better with how well she took care of everything and listened to our requests.

The food at our wedding: nothing short of AMAZING! Out of 143 guests, not one had a complaint about any of the options or the food. In fact, out of any wedding I've been to, I've never had that much delicious food; three appetizers, a salad, pasta , two entrees and two desserts. What's even better is the cost. For six hours open bar and all the above food, we got an amazing deal.

Thank you Frankie's for making our special day the greatest day of our lives without having to break the bank.

I don't often review a restaurant the same night I eat there, and almost never when I'm out of town, but my experience at Frankie's Scaloppine is compelling me to make an exception.

The only reason I even went to Frankie's was because it was conveniently located in an urban mall connected to my conference hotel. After spending all day in a suit and tie, I had happily changed into a T-shirt and shorts and flip flops and did not feel like getting dressed up again and stepping outdoors into the Chicago chill.

When I got there, the first thing that caught my eye was the wood stone oven - what a magnificent piece of work that was! I hung around the area while they readied my window table, pestering the staff with questions and impertinently taking pictures (as any self respecting Yelper would!), but not once did they display any irritation even though I was clearly in the way.

My waiter had that first-week-on-the-job look about him, and admitted as much, so I asked him whether he had been sampling the menu and what he liked. The "veal meatball appetizer" he said without any hesitation! So I immediately placed that order, and then ignoring his second suggestion of the gnocchi entree, settled on the chicken Limone scaloppine (I can't go to a restaurant with scaloppine in its name and not order one!).

The veal meatballs arrived, and it was love at first bite! The meat was tender and juicy and perfectly cooked, with just a tiny bit of crisp on the surface. And the marinara sauce was so fresh and flavorful it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

The chicken Limone scaloppine was good, but it paled in comparison to the veal meatballs. So much so that after a couple of bites, I asked them to pack the rest of it "to-go" and went back to my veal, savoring every last morsel.

I now have a favorite restaurant in Chicago, and I can't wait to go back for that veal!

Truly a hidden gem! I attended Frankie's with a large group of friends and we were able to indulge in some of their best cocktails and dishes. Inside of the 900 North building, parking was provided at $6 which made this evening even better! Upon walking in, I had a little mix-up trying to find the actual place and just followed other people! :-)

The drinks were great. I was able to go through an Italian Margherita, Bellini, Long Island, Mai Tai, Makers Sour and a Cosmo. The bartenders/waitresses were so efficient and fast. I remember how demanding it got and they were somehow able to keep up with everything. I didnt eat anything but the dishes that I saw being brought out looked and smelled amazing! Everyone was almost licking their plates clean! Totally loved the place - ambiance and all!

I came here for appetizers and drinks with my sisters after shopping. Our server was very friendly and we are so glad she recommended the kale, tomato salad. The salad also had golden raisins, tiny pieces of cauliflower, capers, shaved Parmesan cheese, and a light delicious dressing. The tomatoes were so sweet even though they are not in season; we were really shocked at how much we liked this salad. We also got the calamari which was yummy and not too greasy.

I can't speak for their entrees as we only got appetizer/salad and drinks. But I would come back based on what we ate, the good service and reasonable prices.

Not bad but has lost some of its early sharpness. We had the pepperoni pizza which was ok, but not above average. I had the whole wheat capellini in an average tomato based sauce. The capellini broke into small pieces when trying to twirl on a fork.
The location is convenient in the 900 N Michigan building and it's nice to sit in the quiet mall eating area.

Thanks for the feedback John. I will look into the cooking procedure of the capellini and review the pizza with my cooks. I am glad you enjoy the ambiance..

This was my first time at this restaurant. Since the is an LEYE restaurant, I knew it would be good. I was not disappointed!

Friend and I were seated right away. The dining room was airy and noise level was not loud - PLUS.

Staff members (busser, server and food runner) were excellent. Everyone had smiles on their face. They looked like they really enjoyed working there. The chef, "Big Frankie" was mingling with patrons and really knew the regular guests - HUGE PLUS.

I had the Chicken Limon and my friend had the Chicken Milanesse and of course, we had to try couple of the desserts. - OMG PLUS

I am ready to go back to try more food!

We came in earlier than our reserved time and had specifically requested for a seat with a view online but when we got there, host told us the seats are still occupied. She asked us politely and we were seated inside instead.

Food - ordered fettuccine Alfredo and pizza margherita. Liked the pasta a lot, it was very creamy and had a good serving size! Pizza was just okay. Could've given 5 stars if not for the corn meal they've used at the bottom of the pizza crust. They also gave us bread with a really crunchy crust before serving all of our other food and we really liked but we wondered why they didn't give us some Parmesan cheese to go with the olive oil that they served with our bread. Hmmm... We've forgotten about the no-Parmesan olive oil when we got our fried calamari which the other reviews were spot on! It really melts in your mouth and not chewy at all!

Service - good and the server always had a smile in her face. She's also alert for when we needed a refill for our soda! Saw the chef talk to other guests and didn't even say Hi to us when he passed by. Maybe he talked with friends or relatives.

Price - not bad compared to other authentic Italian restaurants we've dined in before.

Parking - after 5pm (M-F) they validate so we just paid $5 for the indoor covered self parking spot at the back of their building. This is one great discovery during our date night!

Overall, We're lettuce entertain you members so we will definitely come back and try their other pastas and entrees! This will definitely be one of our go to Italian dinner places downtown Chicago.

Frankie's Fifth Floor pizzeria is a " lettuce entertain you" restaurant. This place is set up like a fast food eatery. It's good thin crust pizza. The pizza crust it's like a soft thin french bread. The sauce is tasty,a little tangy and the cheese is nice. It's not super cheesy layered pizza. I have come to terms with that thin crust pizza is a novelty food in Chicago. Chicago's idea of thin crust is pricey gourmet food I suppose.

A slice of thin crust pizza is $3.99 and I believe the sausage was $4.99. The pizza was good and I don't mind a treat of good thin crust pizza and there. If you want a whole pizza it is $25 for about 6 large slices. I'd recommend this pizza to anyone who is looking for some good thin crust pizza.

We came here after some shopping. We ordered a few cocktails and an appetizer. I ordered a manhattan that had the perfect combination of ingredients. For an appetizer, we had proscuitto & brufala. The appetizer came with basil, crostini, and bufala cheese. The crostini is the bread that came toasted. The proscuitto came and was delicious along with the bufala cheese. They were ridiculously tight with the crostini bread. The dish came with barely any bread and we asked for more bread to finish the app and they brought one piece of bread.
