DO NOT GO HERE. It's been two months of stress and going to be financially hard to recover after Ray Varner messed up my truck.
I brought it in to quick lane on 1/22/24. Got an oil change. That was $90. Truck was running but not great. I could drive it. They set me up with a service advisor Mike. I made an appointment with Mike for the following week. I brought it in to Mike. Waited 45mins to an hour. Mike tells me it's the timing chain. He has to order parts and it'll be a week. After a week I start calling to check in. Mike says waiting on one last part for my timing chain. Call him again and then find out he retired and I'm put on to a new guy. Tell him the same thing Mike told me. I needed a new timing chain. (Even though they did replace mine 3 years ago). I spend a month calling where are the parts etc. FINALLY get it in. Turns out it's not the timing chain it's my turbo. I end up getting a turbo replaced and the other turbo that they had replaced 6 months ago. THEN I'm told I need a whole new engine. So I spend $3500 on a new turbo for a truck that doesn't even work. It's ran decent before I took it in and now it doesn't even work. And while all this is going on I'm renting a truck daily.
After calling around to other Ford dealerships and techs. Turns out this is not normal. Before putting in the turbo they should have known it wasn't going to fix. It. Never mind I have been bringing my truck here and only here. Thought I was building a trustworthy relationship. Turn out they don't care about the customer at all.
Truck also came back without my bug guard. So disappointed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dianne G.Blaine, TN0823Dec 29, 2021
I cannot say enough about Scott in service here at Ray Varner Ford. I was really fretting after not being able to find any dealerships who could look at my transmission issues. I was truly afraid I was going to be stranded with my 2020 Explorer. Scott set me up with the 1st available appt and then immediately when my car started to leak fluid. After only a couple of hours I was headed home with my car worry free of transmission issues. I cannot be more grateful for treatment and attention given to my car at Ray Varner Ford after countless phone calls seeking for help all over Knoxville. This is a great group!!

Service on my F350 today was quick and the manager was great! I drove from KY where there are several
Ford dealerships that are closer. I came here based off of Yelp and I am glad that I did! I'll come back here for all service in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John J.Knoxville, TN69288341Mar 10, 2019
I generally do not visit my selling dealer for 'normal' maintenance items. If I can throw my dollars toward a small, indy shop that provides quality service, I will always do so.
However, this week held the arrival of a factory recall, my first. With frequent trips to W Texas, one needs a dependable set of wheels under the seat - where exits can be 100 miles apart, and often no services at those scarce 'ranch' exits.
So, off to Ray Varners. A quick verify that "Yes, lets look at it! Let's take care of that!" Sure, it's a gov-mandated recall. But, the friendly hospitality Puppo & I encountered wasn't gov-mandated. Sure, one expects sales people to be friendly. But, accounting and parts delivery employees? Never encountered THAT before. They made certain that Puppo and I were aware of coffee and snacks, and even produced 'pup-friendly' snackage items for his enjoyment. I've a sneaking suspicion that several lunches were a bit lighter by the time our recall was complete!
Plus, the shop area WAS almost surgery level clean! My White Mule was returned 'government-ready' in less than 20 minutes! NO recall hassle, here!
Should I ever be in the market for another vehicle, I will certainly be leaning towards Ray Varner as my vendor source.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ronnie R.Sunbright, TN094Mar 8, 2019
I am usually the person that makes everyone angry including myself when it comes to buying vehicles. I HATE CAR SHOPPING. Ray Varner is different!
I just Purchased two used cars from them. I could not have had a better experience. The salesman "Robert" was helpful and I never felt pressured. One of the deals Ray Varner himself came in to settle. I would recommend anyone going here to buy new or used vehicles! GOOD PEOPLE-GREAT EXPERIENCE!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Average Joe ..Jacksboro, TN7501459May 8, 2019
I live just North of Clinton and there is a Ford dealership in my small town. I have been happy at times as well as unsatisfied with the service provided at that location over the years. I had to bring my vehicle in for a recall and it would have been almost a month out at my local Ford Dealer. I called Ray Varner and JP was able to get me in in just a few days. There were actually 2 recalls on my vehicle and it was estimated to take close to 2 hrs to take care of. I showed up just after 8:00 am and met with JP. How great was it that the guy I spoke with on the phone was there to meet me at my appointment? JP knew who I was and what I needed. JP also knew that I was going to wait. I dreaded the possibility of 2 hrs in the waiting area but it is what it is. At 8:45 JP walked in, handed me my keys, and thanked me for my business. Holy Sh**! Less than an hour!?! I want to give my thanks to JP and his crew of technicians for a job well done. Like I said, this is my first dealing with Ray Varner but it totally justifies another attempt next time I need service. I hope to receive the same service and attention.

Great dealership, not one of those high pressure places. Ask for Mike Cox! He was great to work with and is responsive via phone or email! No genetic auto-sent emails from him. He'll take the time to respond personally. Great place. (if you want popcorn on a day other than Friday, ask the manager when you get there.)
