Quiznos

Toasty, yes. Mm mm mm, not so much.

This Quizno's has a bunch of tables and a huge snaking line around 12:45 when all the suits come in for their double melt. I find the sandwiches to be a little soggy and generally feel pretty gross after ingesting a small.

Bonus? Free soda refills, yippie, but that doesn't fix this spongy-ass sandwich.

Some are better than others, and we just have to deal with it. Of course, the food still comes out the same as at any other Quiznos, and it's pretty darn good. It's the employees that tend to either screw up your experience or alternatively, make it delightful.

I'm eating my sandwich now thinking, boy this is good. I walked out of Quiznos about 20 minutes ago thinking, never again! First, the sandwich lady couldn't hear me... four times. I had to order (yell) four times, which is not embarrassing at all! Then when she finally heard me, she had no idea what sandwich I was talking about (it was the traditional... shouldn't that be one of the ones you should know?). I got my order and asked the soup lady about the soup sizes. Again, she didn't hear me. I started to wonder if it was me, but then was relieved when I looked down the line to someone else repeating their order to the very competent sandwich lady.

No soup for me... they were out of the kind they were promoting (I think no one ever made it, since it was only 12:30 on a Tuesday in midtown Manhattan!) and I'm pretty sure the guy at the cash register was some dude they picked up that morning to work for the day. I don't know what's going on at this place but if you have a little patience and a loud voice, maybe you can get over the fact that the employees here don't really care about their job and you can leave happily with a yummy sandwich. I'm really confused how they got the Zagat rating.
