I got married here and had a terrible experience - similar to the previous reviews.
I met with Deb and she was very nice a professional in our first consultation. We were blown away by the beautiful grounds and the charm of the property. Deb showed us cards of brides and grooms who had wonderful wedding experiences and I thought I found the perfect venue. Unfortunately, her professionalism literally ceased once we paid our deposit. She was unavailable, rude, and unorganized.
I worked with a wedding coordinator, Faith (I think that was her name), from the Queen Anne Victorian Mansion and she handled all of the day of details. She seemed nice but almost all of our phone calls involved her baby screaming and her stating that she needed to take breaks to check on her child. I never met my coordinator in person and we spoke only via phone. One week before the wedding my wedding coordinator called me and said she could no longer be my coordinator as she "had a party to attend" and assured me she would make sure another coordinator would handle my special day.
Deb charged my family an extra $200.00 because we showed up to the venue (the day of the wedding) 20 minutes earlier than our 5pm time slot on the day of the wedding. This charge was in addition to the $2000 we spent on this venue. The first thing Deb did when we showed on the day of my wedding was come up to my mother and I and rudely inform us that she would be adding $200.00 to our bill.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sal H.Scottsdale, AZ101413Oct 29, 2013
Queen Anne Victorian Mansion was the perfect place for our wedding - we wish we could do it all over again! The moment we saw Queen Anne, we knew it was the venue we wanted to get married at.
It was absolutely perfect with classy antique furniture inside and handsomely kept gardens. For those who haven't visited the mansion and seen it in person, it has three stories. The first level is has a nice entrance with a small living room, a kitchen and another entrance to the gardens. The second story has three rooms that have historical artifacts dating back as far that the late 1800's. The top story reminded me of a gentlemen's club with a pool table (something my groomsmen and I enjoyed very much the day of the wedding) listening to Frank Sinatra and having a little Johnny Black to calm the nerves. I can't say enough about how everyone fell in love with the vintage furniture and décor throughout the mansion.
Outside is well kept (something that was very important to us because we wanted to have an outdoor wedding). Being from Washington, we know sunny days are sometimes hard to come by in the Northwest, but the mansion has a large gazebo that gave us the feeling of an outdoor wedding without the worry of the weather.
The venue itself is reasonably priced but where they get you is in the cost of food and drinks and since you have to use their catering it gets pricy quickly. The food was amazing though and we still have people telling us how good the food was. We decided to go with Mediterranean since I am half Lebanese.
One thing we decided to do is hire a wedding coordinator. At our initial consultation we were told that the venue does provide a day of coordinator, but that it only covered standard things for the day of the wedding. A few coordinators were provided by Queen Anne, but decided to go with a family friend who came highly recommended.
There were definitely stressful times throughout this entire wedding planning process, but all in all, our wedding coordinator and the staff at Queen Anne made the day of perfect. We had our coordinator deal with Queen Anne throughout the planning and day of process and everything went smoothly. My wife and I didn't have to worry about a thing and we can honestly say that we wish we could re-live the day again and again.
The staff was very attentive and responsive to all emails and other communications and made the whole process seem easy and enjoyable. They answered all my questions and did a great job at offering accommodations and changes to make everything perfect.
Overall I could not recommend a better place to get married at... it is truly a was the perfect place to get married and you'll be thankful you did when you see the photos that capture settings you won 't find anywhere else. This venue has everything a wedding needs: elegancy, indoor/outdoor space, beautiful grounds, tons of parking, and great service. I'd highly recommend them for any wedding or special event.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Debra B.Oregon City, OR95226Aug 2, 2014
My husband and I got married here. Nice place, beautiful grounds and decor. However, the wedding coordinator that was provided was less than professional. She was dressed as if she was a stripper (low cut top & breasts hanging out). Not something you want to see on your wedding day.

As a self-identified "offbeat bride", I was looking for a true fit for our wedding venue. We needed an affordable price, charm, but most importantly- the "us" factor. We were searching for a place that felt like home. All it took was a step through the Queen Anne Mansion's gate and we knew we had found it.
My husband and I are still in awe with the experience that we had at the Queen Anne Victorian Mansion. From day one, Deborah was a perfect host. During the planning stages, we communicated honestly about our budget, but also discussed our needs and dreams for our wedding day. Deborah consistently worked hard to make sure we were having a good experience, from leaving the Portland wedding show early to give us a tour of the venue, to hosting us multiple times while planning the event, to the big day. We both felt that Deborah had listened to us and supported our needs all along the way.
The food was fantastic. The most common feedback that I received from my wedding guests was how they wanted Deborah's recipes for our wedding menu choices. We carefully selected just the right menu to compliment taste preferences, seasonal availability, and diet restrictions. We ended up combining some menu package options to personalize the perfect menu for us. Our guest enjoyed beverages and appetizers including chicken sausage-stuffed mushrooms and non-dairy stuffed vegetable boats during the social hour. Our dinner menu starred xOven-roasted chicken with spiced apple chutney, mushroom raviolis, seasonal rice pilaf (with butternut squash, pine nuts, onion, and parsley), green beans with bacon, and a lovely spring green salad with heirloom baby spinach, dried cranberries, gorgonzola cheese, and vinaigrette dressing. We opted out of a hosted bar and instead placed bottles of red and white wine at each table. Everyone seemed to LOVE the meal, and Deborah even made sure to pack us a picnic meal to go that we savored later that night.
One of the benefits of choosing the Queen Anne is that they have a day of coordinator available to help for planning the wedding day. Our coordinator's name was Laura, and she and Deborah worked with us on our projected timeline, practiced timing at our rehearsal, and overall made sure that there were no hiccups on our day. Laura was polite, respectful to our whole wedding party, and she kept things moving along without coming to myself or my husband with issues, per our request. She was there to allow us to really feel our wedding day, and we were so thankful for that.
Our wedding day was over four months ago. Since that time we have framed pictures, shared comments and stories with our families, and we even went back to the Queen Anne for their holiday open house. Honestly, we wanted an venue that understood us and would always remind us of our excitement and love that we shared on our wedding day. The Queen Anne Mansion will always be that magical place to us.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Annie G.Portland, OR161183Oct 18, 2014

We fell in love with this place as soon as we laid eyes on it. The historic home, the gardens, the gazeebo....incredible! We didn't want a stuffy, boring, generic hall. This place is really something special. Deb, the owner was so helpful and caring. Deb and her event coordinator Laura made our day amazing. You can tell that Deb has a passion for events and she wanted to make our day exactly what we wanted it to be. With Laura taking care of business the day of, I felt confident and at ease. Deb made herself available for us in the months leading up to the reception. She was flexible and patient when we had to change things last minute or had special requests. The QAVM staff were professional and our guests commented all night on the amazing venue!
