Reading through the reviews here, I notice a kind of consensus -- great food, lousy service. Well, I've eaten at Pulcinella about six or eight times, and I'd have to say 1) the food is great, and 2) the service is (often, not always) lousy. So, trust your Yelp.
You won't find tastier pizza -- it's just tops. (Personal favourite : Diavolo -- WAY spicy, and oh so good.) The baked lasagna is wonderful, the salads are terrific (try the Pulcinella salad), the wine list is interesting and reasonably priced -- although they no longer seem to have half-price Sundays, which is disappointing. In fact, everything I've eaten at Pulcinella has been not just above average, but really terrific.
On the other hand, the variety of terrible service stories is really impressive. One time we waited to have someone take our order for half an hour, and then they forgot to bring the appetizer until after the entrees. Another time, three of our party got our meals, and the fourth didn't -- the waiter hadn't heard her order her dinner, and misunderstood and said "yes" when we asked (as the others ate) if her food was coming. (Really, I'm not kidding.) But sometimes the service is just fine; you take your chances. (We took a big party in on Christmas eve, and there was NOTHING to complain about.)
The food, though, makes it worth it, and I keep going back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jason S.Littleton, CO10516931Mar 13, 2010First to Review
Molto deliziosa!!! The pizza here is off the hook!! My wife and I have been dying to try this place since their opening! We finally made it in, and I must say the pizza was fabulous.
We tried the Capricciosa. It came out fast and fresh. The ingredients were covering the whole pie and tasted awesome. The (I'm assuming) owner was very Italian and the staff in general was super friendly and accommodating. The have a great wine selection and lots of other things to choose from besides pizza.
In Englewood there are a number of local, awesome pizza places. Pulcinella's is definitely going in the rotation! I can't wait to come back and try some more. They were out of the Tiramisu, I'm guessing because it's so good. I hope this place does awesome here. Go there and see what you think.....Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jennifer B.Denver, CO107413392124Sep 6, 2011
Recommendation by the same friend for some great food. We were having the munchies and needed some lunch.
We stopped in and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the interior - very nice! They have a beautiful bar with a great wine selection. We were there a little early in the day for wine. I now it's 5 o clock some where but 11:30 was pushing it for me.
My friend raved about the calzones but as it happened they had written down their panini specials and the first one on the board caught both of our eyes. I forget the name at this time but it had capicola, salami, ham, prosciutto, red onions, tomato's, lettuce, and red vinegar/balsamic. Anyway, doesn't that sound amazing?!
It arrived shortly after we ordered it with an apology from the cook. "I'm sorry it took so long, I was making you fresh bread." Are you kidding me?? We may have waited 12 minutes maybe 15 tops and it wasn't noticeable, plus my bread was freshly baked - no apology needed!!
We decided to split the panini after talking to our waitress and I have to say that was a genius idea! A half a panini was ginormous and totally enough for one person. It was fresh, warm, toasty, crisp, and totally yummy.
Not that the panini wasn't enough but they sold us both on homemade tiramisu! Our fave dessert! We had to order one, and there is no other word to say but WOW!!
I want to go back here every day and try more of the menu. Hands down a great pizzeria with other menu options that are equally as fabulous.
Did I mention this place is also attached to a wine store - BONUS!
Thumbs up to our waitress, she was great as well.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 22, 2010
Great pizza. Order the Italian sausage and you get sliced sausage not ground which is a treat!!
We ordered for carry out, and live literally 2 minutes away. Our pizza was cold like it had been sitting out for 1/2 hour.
Maybe this is the kind of pie you should only enjoy as dine in :(Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mai Linh N.Denver, CO28441Jun 25, 2010
First and for-most, Let me start off by saying that the pizza makers here are very good looking. ;) ...which is always a bonus.
They were also very kind and helpful with letting us know what was good here.
We had the medium Diavola pizza. It was off the chain. It had some spice to it which added a little kick. The crust was actually my favorite part.
Mmmmm.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - B. K.Denver, CO44Jul 6, 2011
Don't get me wrong- I love pizza. My boyfriend from NY, however, is completely IN LOVE with pizza. (It's okay. I'm willing to be second fiddle to the delicious stuff.) That being said, I've been dragged throughout the streets of Manhattan and beyond in search of 'the best' pizza available. We'd finally found a place we could deem as being the 'best', only to move out to CO shortly thereafter. Hence, the search resumed...
Then we stumbled upon Pulcinella. This stuff is legit. The Neapolitan owner has not only brought his Italian expertise, but he is regularly there making the pizza's himself! I like things on the spicy side, so the Diavola is definitely my favorite, but it's really hard to go wrong. And even though they specialize in pizza, their salads are decent and the owner imports his own wine, so you're getting a really great value.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kent T.Denver, CO2017615May 4, 2011
Soon to be adding a full wine store, Pulcinella fills that niche between "upscale" and "regular pizza joints". Like the Yelp "ambience" selection buttons say-- this place is both classy and hipster. They have several styles of pizza, with their "King" being my favorite. The salads aren't too shabby, either. One salad could be an entire meal, if you're into greens.
They feature late night beer and pizza specials (currently two gourmet slices and a PBR for five bucks). Rotating wine specials as well. In short, this a good place to go for a quick date where BOTH the guy and the girl will enjoy it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kelly N.Denver, CO83637Jun 25, 2010
What a great place!
My cousins and I stopped in for an afternoon bite after a long day at work because we were craving pizza. The environment is very inviting with a great wine bar and many mouth watering desserts available (mmm tiramisu!). We shared a medium Diavola pie (spicy, yet delicious) and it really hit the spot. The crust is cooked to perfection and the toppings are fresh and pristine. The staff was amazing and very accommodating - definitely good people.
I'd definitely recommend Pulcinella Pizzeria!

And yet another great pizza restaurant!
This place opened a month ago, in February 2010. I discovered it by accident and decided to go in and ask for a take out menu. About a week later, I ordered a pizza from them. I tried the Campagnola, their version of the meat lovers. The pizza crust is thin and tastes great. Toppings were delicious, specially the sausage. Right amount of cheese.
They offer calzones, baked pasta and salads too. As well as the Sicilian (or Pan style) pizza. Prices are reasonable, it isn't expensive.
The restaurant is located in tiny strip of shops. Service was very friendly. They have 2 locations in Fort Collins and one in Lafayette.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
