Buying a home for the first time can be both an exciting and scary experience. Aside from the many headaches from dealing with various escrow deadlines & loan approvals, new homeowners can also get hit with another obstacle - finding out that your dream home is a complete money pit, a financial nightmare. No one wants to buy a seemingly perfect-looking house, only to discover that there's a lot of serious structural or hazardous issues, ain't nobody got time for that!

I knew right off that bat before I signed any contracts, that I needed my potential new home inspected. Like most, I struggled with the idea of hiring a home inspector because I knew it was going to run me at least $500 or $600+, a typical inner struggle when you're trying to cut any additional costs. I've planned on being on a stict ramen diet budget after buying this house, so I was really dreading the idea of spending additional money on an inspection.
But realistically, I knew it had to be done. I didn't want to get stuck with a house with many flaws and up end having to pay thousands of dollars to repair things.

Frank Dugger was introduced to us by our hard-working real estate agent, Mai Gregory. He has a reputation for being very thorough and very honest. He was friendly, professional and not intimidating at all. If all the real estate agents trust him, then I trust him.

For 4 hours, Frank did the entire home inspection all by himself. He inspected everything from the inner wirings of the house to the very details of a suspicious single roof tile.
His only assistant was this kick-ass drone that he used to inspect my roof and solar panels. Efficient and high-tech, love that!

Going over the inspection report was a breeze, we went over everything page by page on his laptop, all 72 pages.
- The very first page showed items highlighted in red, indicating potential hazardous items that he recommends to repair (or to ask the seller to repair prior to us signing the contracts).

I appreciated how every item listed came with pics to support his findings. This man did not miss a single thing. He even found a huge crack in the shower tile that we missed during our house tour. This would've caused huge leakage or mold problems in the future.

I paid on site $785, very reasonable and cheap for the thorough job that was done per my agent. I knew going in that this house was going to be a couple hundred over the usual fee because there were both a hot tub and pool to inspect in addition to the two-story. http://bit.ly/1OACYKs

Overall, I'm really satisfied and relieved that there was nothing serious with the house.

Frank was awesome. Great communication before, during, and after the inspection. I even had a follow up email or 2 with him and he was completely thorough. I was impressed with his presentation method and the attention to detail. As an orthodontist I can be difficult to please because my patients hold me to a standard measured by tenths of a millimeter. I'm certain Frank could make every one of my patients happy due to the care and detail he performs his work with.

Frank (owner) is the BEST. He inspected a house for me before purchase and ended up finding things that saved me thousands of dollars! He is incredibly professional and does a phenomenal and thorough job. I recommend him to anyone with inspection needs.

My wife and I are purchasing a condo on Oahu and decided to go with Frank due to the raving reviews we read on Yelp and other sources. Our decision turned out to be a good one. Frank was always prompt to respond and kept us informed on appointment scheduling and other status update.

The property we are buying is about 1,000 sq ft and it took about 2 hours to complete. Frank did a very thorough job inspecting pretty much every corner of the property, explaining to us what he was looking at and looking for as he went. He also identified some potential problem in the bathrooms and kitchen (using his infrared thermo technology) and gave us his analysis of potential cause. From the beginning to the end, he showed only interest in protecting me as the buyer. Frank even offered us some tips and advice on home renovations to help us to save money! He showed us the "draft report" on the spot and sent us the finalized report with tons of pictures the same evening.

All in all, it was a great experience to work with Frank and I'd highly recommend him to anyone that has property inspection need.

I've purchased 3 houses, and Frank was by far the best inspector I've ever used. I chose him because he has more certifications and experience than anyone else on island, and he uses the latest technology such as drones to inspect hard to see places, as well as infrared technology to evaluate invisible but important factors in the home. My very experienced real estate agent was blown away by his professionalism, his extensive 90+ page report with tons of photos, and his very reasonable recommendations. After it was all over my agent said he'd never seen anything like it, and asked if I'd please write a review for the Redfin real estate website as well, so future Redfin customers will know what an amazing job he did for us.

Frank provided education and sound advice as he went over the report, and even offered to come back free of charge to give us a second moisture reading under some windows that may or may not need to be replaced. His report was done and ready before he left for the day, which we really appreciated since we were trying to close on the house as soon as possible. I can't recommend him highly enough; he's the inspector you should use, and we'd definitely use him again if we buy another property here.

We are currently in Escrow and recently used Frank the owner of PREI. He was absolutely fantastic and without a doubt very thorough, knowledgeable and professional. This is our third property purchase and I could tell immediately that Frank was a class above the previous inspectors we used. His report was clear and detail oriented. I have no doubt that if I ever need another home inspector the first person I would turn to is this company! Give them a try, you will not regret it!
