Professional Drum Shop

Great store with a ton of history. The Drum Shop had a good selection of drum kits as well as accessories like cymbals and pedals at fairly competitive prices. The staff was friendly and helpful, did not bother you as you walk around (like some store do) but were there in case you needed anything or had any questions.

They also had what looked like a wall full of drumsticks to choose from, it was pretty awesome (had I known we would be stopping by I would have picked up sticks there instead of ordering them online). Lots of parking nearby as well as behind the store. As soon as we walked up we heard someone playing the saxophone at the near by repair shop. Just an overall really cool place and a must check out!

My husband and I are drummers and come here regularly to get their drums tuned. They really enjoy their experience being in the store. There are even drum classes that my son loves to watch when we go. Overall, reliable and fair experience.

What an absolutely incredible place. It's a history lesson. It's live narrative. It's every conceivable part you could want. It's 65 years of know how. If this isn't the best drum shop in the world.... I'd be surprised.

And best of all, the prices are fantastic!

This shop is a drummer's dream! I've loved coming to Pro Drum shop since I was a young teen. My amazing drum teacher Kay Carlson (who is so missed) first recommended it to me and I've been a customer ever since. They sell drums, cymbals, and accessories (vintage and new), and fix equipment. Incredibly knowledgeable staff and fantastic selection. Parking lot around the back. Stop by and support this legendary local shop!

This is a dream of what a drum shop can be: experienced knowledgeable staff, community and good humor. The name is fitting, it's where the pros go.

I moved to Los Angeles in February of 1988. The first piece of drum equipment I bought was a Ludwig Hammered Bronze 6.5" X 14" Snare Drum from Pro Drum Shop. Just today I took a broken DW 5000 drum pedal from Venice Church in Venice, CA to see if they had a screw that fit to keep the chain on the base and to pick up some drum sticks. I was hooked up in 15 minutes. While I was waiting I had the joy and opportunity to meet and talk with Marvin "Smitty" Smith who is a drummer's drummer and may be best known as the drummer from Jay Leno's Tonight Show. At the time I knew he looked familiar but wasn't quite sure from where until someone said his name. Then it clicked. I love drummers. There is no ego at this store. Everyone shares this passion and they are happy to share it with their customers. There are good people here selling great gear. Thanks guys!
