I cannot say enough about how much I love how Kate has transformed my hair! I realized that the Denise W review is referencing my hair! Thin, it was greying, I was coloring it myself. Kate worked with me to transform my hair to a blonde/grey combo that completely hides my grey. But I can now go 3 months without coloring, and it still looks good then! Baby highlights to blend with my grey. Coloring less and changing up my shampoo/conditioner routine and my hair is also healthier now! I would like to add that I never leave reviews, but want people to know about Kate! She is the grey whisper (how I found her on a FB group).

Stephanie is AMAZING!! I look forward to every appointment! She is phenomenal and all the women in the salon are just lovely. I always leave feeling beautiful and refreshed! Can't live without her and absolutely love the salon.

I went to see Kate at Primp after I saw what an amazing job she did for my friend who needed a transition from years of home coloring. Kate immediately knew how cut my very fine thin hair and colored my slightly graying hair so well that my hair now perfectly blends when it starts growing out. The salon itself is clean and light and everyone there has been very friendly.

Just the best service from friendly stylists!!! The best by far in the East Bay. Very modern and clean interior. Several accomplished stylists to choose from.

Terrible customer service!

I had my hair cut at the end of last year by Alyssa (Hair by Alyssa) and the cut was fine.
I scheduled a follow up appointment for today, February 9. Three weeks ago I broke my arm with a serious fracture & have several serious complications requiring multiple hospital visits, emergency care, etc. The last thing on my mind was a hair appointment.
I did call Alyssa yesterday to cancel, explained my situation & apologized for the late cancellation.
I received a text from Alyssa this morning she was going to charge me a cancellation fee despite my injury & ongoing situation.
I texted her back & asked for her consideration to waive the fee in light of the circumstances. She declined, cited her policy, then sent me an invoice for the FULL AMOUNT of the appointment.
She showed no understanding or empathy - didn't offer to reschedule me next month when I would be healthy enough to come in - nothing!
I'm still astounded at being treated so badly.

Stylish salon with friendly folks. Owner Steph is the best - she has great taste, is so kind and relaxed, and consistently does quality work. Convenient off street parking. Steph is also very professional - can't say enough good things about her and the business she's built!

I was getting my hair done at Caroline Salon and I was happy with them .
I had a hair stylish name KATE FROST , and she moved to " primp salon in Lafayette "
so I follow her and things went from bad to worse ,
she used scolding, hot water to rinse my hair ,
She starts off with warm and everything is OK and then he gets a little hotter and then suddenly SHE BURN MY HEAD ,
She burned me like four different visits , She seems like a nice person so I kept saying well maybe that was just a one time when my hair is falling out big time , I have bald spots on my head , and no matter how I part my hair it shows spots , so I mean it takes me three months to grow my hair some and I was lucky that my hair grow back but it right on the very top of my head where she mainly burns me all the time , my hair did NOT grow back as much , everywhere else has gray hair and this top of my head hardly had any hair growing because of the gray hair went back to her and she burned me again and then Lots of bald spots but she acts like it's no big deal. You know she just keeps doing it. My hear fell out again bigger areas. then going back to her thinking it was not gonna happen again and they happen over and over again so I said enough , the last time she burned me. She was doing it and I put my head away and she's said
!!! oh is too hot , It's too hot !!!
Strange is that at the same time other hair hair styler washing somebody's hair and she wasn't burning her clients head .
she said she claims is the washing machine is on and then it goes off and then then I get the hot water , that was the case, when the other hairstyler be burning, her clients head too ? even though I keep asking her " use cooler water use cooler water, "
I keep asking her to
feel it on your arm or hand before you put it on my head , so she said to me
" well, I like it hot"

I told her my head is not going to be able to handle that hot water that's a conversation we had in the visit before this last one, and she burned me again.
Be very careful , I don't even know if my hair is gonna grow back again, so ! I'm not going back enough is enough !
She acts as like it's no big deal.
she should not be working on peoples hair .!
My head still burning since March, 20 2023 when she burn my head , 6 days ago , hurts when I style my hair.I

I've been dying to try this place since I live so close, but I've called consistently 3 days in a row to get just a blow out, left multiple messages, and never got a call back. How does anyone make a reservation here??

I'm disappointed that you're not able to sign up online for a service, and that no one answers or responds to their phone calls. Their spot is so cute and I would have loved to try it!

I love Tara! She is not only just the sweetest person, but she gave me an AMAZING haircut. I went in needing her to help me- the last stylist I went to gave me a really uneven cut and I had some bleach damage. She was able to even me out, without taking off too much length, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I'm excited to go back to her for color. She was very thorough and really went over every spot to make sure it was even and to my liking. And she is a total sweetheart:)

Tara is one of those rarities among stylists who excels at both coloring and cutting hair. She's a perfectionist with her coloring who also cares about the health and quality of her customers' hair once they leave her chair--not something you find often among colorists. Yet, even when she was caring for my hair, which went through three epic sheds from COVID, surgery, and an auto-immune flare, the color was still fantastic, an outcome I never had before, even my color was tended to by an international educator for Paul Mitchell colorists.

She also gave me the best haircut I've ever had in my life to help my hair look decent despite a considerable loss in volume. I've reaped compliments on my cut in the weeks since she gave it to me, and I don't need to touch my hair to style it.

You'll never see talent, care, or personal warmth like this from another stylist.
