Located at the end of a small strip mall just before you get to the WalMart parking lot, parking is plentiful. There are shared handicapped spaces along the store front, or lots of regular spaces across two traffic lanes.
Walking in, the hostess station is to your left and we were greeted right away. Seating is a mix of booths and tables. It can get crowded if you are in the middle, so select your location accordingly. On this visit we ordered take out.
All food was well packaged and made the short trip home easily, although no napkins or utensils were included. The garlic knots were smaller than expected, but there were a lot of them. Garlic flavor was noticeable, but not as strong as I have had at other places. The bread was doughy and pretty filling. The meatball parmesan was decent. The pasta was cooked properly, but the meatballs did not have a lot of flavor. Most distracting was the very sweet marinara sauce. Overall flavor was minimal, but the sweet marinara made it cloying. The accompanying garlic bread slice was good and moist with nice garlic flavor.
The Italian nachos were very good. These could easily be a meal by themselves. The chicken was a little dry, but everything else was cooked and assembled properly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katie C.Washington, DC06Dec 28, 2022
Great place. The food is always out quick and delicious, and served by people who are friendly. I always stop by when I'm in town.

Quantity over quality atmosphere. People packed in too tightly.
Quantity over quality meals. Too much food that does not resemble Italian at all. The chicken alfredo tastes more like chicken and dumplings. The meat lasagne is indescribable unfortunately not a good indescribable. Sodas were served watered down. We were asked by server if we wanted refills then she let us know they were out of the soda. In the middle of lunch. Why not let us know that to begin with instead of putting a little soda in glass then topping it off with water?
I don't like to leave bad reviews. I simply choose to not leave anything if I have had a bad experience. However, the food was that bad. The service was good with the exception of our server inserting herself in my husband's and my conversation. Thought that was strange and uncomfortable.
We left without eating, paying too much money, and asked if we wanted to leave a tip. Strange and uncomfortable again....
Maybe we are food snobs and expect too much.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Zaha M.Tyler, TX72918Nov 11, 2020
Came for lunch and service was good and quick! We tried the house salads (highly recommend the Greek dressing), eggplant parmigiana sub with fries, and meatball sub with onion rings. Everything was fresh and hot and we loved the onion rings and marinara sauce (house made). Huge portions, could only eat half our subs, wish they had 1/2 portion with salad option for lunch but everything was great.
If you're looking for something lighter, they have great salad options that are generously portioned!

Great food for a great price. I had the meatball sub with onion rings. The onion rings are great and the sub is huge I only ate half of it and was full saving the other half for dinner. Definitely a great place while in Unicoi. Here for work and will be going back on my lunch breaks the service was fast enough to dine in on a lunch break!

Great waitress, great salad. Food comes out fast.
I ordered the Chicken primavera. The dish came out looking beautiful ‼The chicken was sliced lunch meat. NO flavor ‼ Didn't seem to have any garlic or olive oil. Too many carrots ( they were the little ones that come in a snack package).
The garlic bread had NO garlic flavor at all !!
But like I said it was beautiful ‼ Just work on the flavor. Thanks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ricky L.Erwin, TN915Aug 5, 2021
On 4 August 2021, during Tennessee's tax holiday on all food products (groceries, prepared foods, restaurants, etc.) my girlfriend and I visited Primo's in Unicoi. Upon receiving our bill for the evening, I noticed tax had incorrectly been added to the ticket. I mentioned this to the cashier, who holds no fault and had no ability to correct the problem, when checking out and was told she had thought the same thing (that tax shouldn't be applied) but had been informed by the owner "[the tax holiday] is optional and we're not participating". Not only is this incorrect, but it is in violation of state law. The taxes collected at this establishment during the tax holiday will not be going to the state, but will only serve to pad the owner's bottom line. All else about the visit aside, this blatant disregard for state law alone is an insult to customers and Primo's in Unicoi deserves no business from the people of Tennessee.

We have eaten at Primo's several times and get take out about once a month. Food is always wonderful. Plus the owner is very generous with fundraisers. The garlic cheese knots are delicious, no matter what we order knots are a must.
