The Portage River Paddling Company is your premier outdoor water recreation & adventure destination. We are family owned and operated. Our mission is to get families outdoors to spend quality time together and help them create memories that will last a lifetime! Come enjoy the scenic Portage River! Spend an hour or the day with us enjoying the eagles, heron, turtles, and other abundant wildlife! Take a trip down the river or rent by the hour from either of our locations. Pan for gem stones in Port Clinton or take a pedal boat out of Oak Harbor. We are located just minutes from downtown Port Clinton and in downtown Oak Harbor. Come solo or bring the whole family! With options for single kayaks, double kayaks, canoes, pedal boats (Oak Harbor only) and stand-up paddleboards we have something for everyone. Open daily from 10 am to 8 pm and sometimes later. Just stop in, message us on Facebook, or give us a call to make a reservation (not required).

We had the best time paddling down the river. It was super easy to make reservations over the phone the day before. The workers were knowledgeable and friendly, make sure you bring cash to tip.
Our trip was during an overcast day with calm waters and it took us about two hours on the dot with a child and an adult in each kayak.
Make sure you wear sunscreen, bring a bottle of water, and your sunglasses or a hat. I wore my bathing suit with a cotton dress on top, best idea ever (your butt gets pretty soaked)
All in all, a great way to start the day.
I'll be back to ride with the goats!!
