We were really hungry for steak but due to all the bikers every place had a wait and we just wanted to get in and eat.

      This place had decent food.

All the salads are served with cashew nuts, which I found odd, especially having a cashew allergy. Thankfully the waitress told us so we could skip the ER visit! The best was that the salad had real bacon crumbles and with the blue cheese dressing it really hit the spot!

      Decent service.

The steaks were what you would expect for not being aged etc... I had the 6oz filet mignon, it was not as tender as I like but it was good.

The baked potato was very good!!

The place had a great hometown family feeling.

I'm really surprised to see such a low rating on the Port Orange Steakhouse after our experience there this evening, Father's Day, 2019.

The story of how we found the place bears mentioning. Although we've lived in Port Orange for a while, we'd never heard of it until we were on a transatlantic cruise last fall and, during an excursion on Antigua, we were chatting with some fellow passengers, and we mentioned that we lived in Port Orange. One of the others, who wasn't from Port Orange but was familiar with it, asked if we'd ever been to the steakhouse and when we said "no," she said that we needed to eat there because the food was excellent.

So tonight was that night. It was pretty busy, being Father's Day, but we were seated immediately and our server, Michelle came over to introduce herself and get drinks orders. Throughout the meal and ordering process, Michelle was very attentive and helpful. Almost everything was homemade, from the salad dressings (an amazing bleu cheese dressing for my wings) to the appetizers (I ordered a five piece chicken wing app, and it was definitely not prepared from frozen) and the Alfredo sauce for their pastas was incredible (my wife asked about the pasta, and Michelle, after talking up the sauce, proceeded to bring out a small bowl of the sauce with two pieces of bread to sample.)

Main courses were beef, of course -- my wife had the prime rib (only available on Friday and Saturday, today was Sunday but they had it for Father's Day) and I had the Texas center cut sirloin with peppercorn sauce, mushrooms and onion crisps. Both were excellent, as were the sides (wife had a loaded baked potato that was almost as big as her head, I had the mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy.) Salads were very good and the dessert, carrot cake, was sublime.

If I had to ding the Port Orange Steakhouse for anything, the decor is rather dated, though I kind of liked it, reminiscent of the great steakhouses I used to go to up in Minnesota as a kid. Other than that, a five star restaurant, from beginning to end.

Top left to bottom right -- HUGE loaded baked potato, onion crisps, mashed potato with mushroom gravy, Texas center cut sirloin

This was my first time to experience the Port Orange Steakhouse I have been a frequent customer at their New Smyrna Beach location for a number of years and I wanted to see if there was any difference. Well my conclusion after eating here is, I'd say they are truly sister steakhouses. Immediately after entering I felt the ambiance was very familiar, it's a unique vibe not anything like the small economical steakhouse chains and certainly not like the higher end steakhouses, I think most are familiar enough with both types that there isn't any reason to mention any of those.

We arrived a little past 8 PM and with the exception of a few parties scattered throughout the restaurant it was relatively empty. We we seated immediately and our server took our drink orders and delivered some warm bread and whipped bitter to the table. After looking over the menu I decided on the 16 oz bone-in ribeye medium rare and she chose the filet cooked medium. We both ordered salads to start she chose the Caesar and I went with the Wedge both were disappointedly just okay nothing terrible by any means but just poorly put together and bland the restaurant wasn't busy as I stated earlier and it's as if the kitchen was closing up and they were forced to serve a few more meals, no other customers entered the restaurant after we were seated.

A few bites into the salads and out comes the food, again just a little odd I hate being rush and there is no need to apologize just don't do it. Her filet was perfect I substituted my bone-in ribeye for a plain boneless ribeye when I was made aware they were out of bone-in rib eyes after our server put the order in but what was served was a very dense New York Strip cooked medium to well. It's not hard to tell these cuts apart and I am sure I've eaten hundreds of both over time so I really had no doubt. I immediately brought this to the attention of our server and he told me he thought that was their ribeye no harm done he took it back and I decided to do without since her filet was getting colder by the minute and we came to eat as a couple not one at a time.

The manager did come out and explained that they hand cut each steak and the chef must of gotten confused and offered to cook another steak or remove the steak from the bill I choose the latter. So not the best experience but I'm sure I'll give them another try down the road I did see the effort there and the one meal that was correct was actually pretty good I did get a few bites of the filet.

My family was looking for a steakhouse coming into Daytona from the south and stumbled upon this place. It looks unsuspecting, being part of a strip mall, but we were all pleasantly surprised.

The service was on point. Our server was a delightful woman and she accommodated our every request. She never took too long to get to us even though the establishment was very busy.

The food was phenomenal. My entire family said that it was stellar; I ordered a salmon pasta with shrimp added on top by request, and it was, bar none, the best salmon and shrimp I'd ever had. It was a significant amount of food and a very reasonable price.

For dessert, they actually bring by a platter of plastic models showing exactly what you can get and how big it is. All the selections looked tasty; I got some kind of banana-chocolate cake, and it was excellent!

Highly recommend this place. If I were ever in the area again, I would return without hesitation.

My salmon pasta, with added shrimp.

I was looking for a steak house in Daytona Beach, decided on this place being that the other places didn't have great ratings. Glad we went, it's an older establishment but service and food was great. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. He had some great suggestions and he was very knowledgeable. Big portions and everything came out like we ordered. Highly recommend it, should have gone back Saturday night instead of the other place we went to.

Upon entering, the greeter was super nice. We opted to sit at the bar and the Bartender was great in recommending some drinks. I got the peach margarita and it was excellent. It wasn't tart like most margaritas. We ordered calamari and oh my goodness was it good. You can tell that it's fresh. The marinara was even better. I ordered the ribs with coleslaw and sweet potato fries and my husband ordered the ribeye steak with Caesar salad and baked potato. The ribs were charred the right amount with a slightly smoky flavor that made it taste excellent. The coleslaw was crunchy so it had to be made fresh. The fries were also good. The steak was cooked to perfection. We ordered the banana chocolate swirl cake and it was fantastic. The atmosphere of the place was like a family which I liked. I will definitely come back and bring friends and family here.

For my birthday, our family (6 people) decided to go to this restaurant. We had been there once, many years ago, and remembered it as having very good food. We were not disappointed. The service was terrific and prompt with a very nice and accommodating waitress. Five of us had the sirloin steak and one of the kids got the prime rib. It was all excellent. The steaks were cooked perfectly, medium for all, and came topped with a delicious mushroom sauce and onion rings. None of us walked away hungry.

I would recommend this restaurant highly.

This place has been around for years. I used to go quite a bit but now I am not in Port Orange that often. They are like any other "fast food" steak house.... Another chain that provides consistent average food. The steaks were ok. cooked correctly but nothing to brag about. Service was good. Overall just an average experience.

Lots of good food & at a great value. I went with a group of co-workers after work and we were seated immediately. The ale choices were good, top shelf drinks didn't disappoint.

I ordered a juicy filet steak, sweet potato fries, Amaretto apples, and Mac-n-Cheese. The only thing I could've skipped was the Mac-n-Cheese. I'm a southern gal who likes a gooey cheesy baked concoction with a lil kick. This one was ok. Other than that the ribs, pork chops, and salads were all very good (I got to taste everyone's plate!)

      I will be back!!

We were looking for a non-chain steakhouse, and found this one on Google. We went for a late lunch, around 3:30 on a Saturday. Since it was shift change, Chris got us started with our drinks, then Kim took over when she clocked in. Both servers were excellent. We both ordered filet cooked medium, baked potato and house salad. The filet was perfectly cooked. Melted in our mouths. It was delicious. The potato was loaded and also delicious. The house salad was a little different, having cashews and bacon on top. It was also tasty. Bread was warm and yummy. No room for dessert. We'll definitely be back!

Filet mignon, cooked medium. Special baked potato.
