I can totally understand why a guy would run screaming in the other direction from this place. The guy working behind the counter looked like he might've been chained to the desk.

It's a girlie place, hands down. I mean, I'm not even the girlie type and I was squealing nearly the whole time I was browsing the store. I thought it was an antique store when I walked by and I hate antiques, so I wasn't expecting to be so excited by everything.

Will is right when he says it's a hodgepodge. There really is no other way to explain it. It can't be classified at all. There are decorative items, cabinets and dressers, lamps, furniture and clothing. New clothing that looks vintage AND vintage clothing that looks, well, vintage. We're talking heavy fur coats and dresses, here. There are even pieces of vintage art and framed artwork (one of a monkey in a smoking jacket piqued my interest).

It's a fun time, people. Seriously. Take the mom. Take your girlfriend. But maybe leave the men outside. I don't think they'll appreciate the artichoke napkin holder.

I have to admit, Pom Pom looks like it'd be easy to hate. The owner (whose name escapes me) has honestly picked some dumb stuff to put in the windows, which made me vow to never ever enter her store. And seriously, the name. Pom Pom? Come on.

So after living down the block for about four months, I finally made my way into Pom Pom when the local chamber had a holiday night out (read = we were invited to hit up all the shops on my street for free wine and snacks). I was very pleasantly surprised. There's actually quite a selection of random old lady shit, with even some fun stuff.

And the basement! That's where the magic happens. The basement is a little larger than the main floor, and all the fun stuff is down there. I had no idea there could be such a hodgepodge of vintage clothing (especially wigs and fur) buried beneath my building.

Still, I mostly enjoyed Pom Pom just for looking around and drinking free wine, although I did end up buying some little knick-knack sparkly birds for my stepmom. If you happen to be walking down the street, though, I'd take a few minutes to duck in for a peek. I was glad I finally did.

I happened to be out with my two sisters browsing stores when I came across a strapless black vintage 1950's era red polka dot fish tail pin up type dress. I said we have to go there! So we went in and I tried on the dress, it didnt fit but my sister bought it because she could.
As I browsed the store I found it was very eclectic and had a variety of odds and ends that I wanted. I also found a vintage typewriter that I loved!

This store is ah mazing and hopefully I can find a prom dress there. P.S. The basement is amazing!!
