Terrible place. Not only I confirmed my appointment by calling them TWICE, but I get to the location and it looks like a jail cell. I had to be buzzed in. Once I entered suit A, the not-so-friendly staff member told me that I had to reschedule my appointment. Why? Because they scheduled me for something else than I wanted. I wanted a wellwoman exam, and they put it as a problem visit, and for that reason alone I couldn't see the doctor, because they couldn't figure out how much it was going to cost with my insurance. WTF? I even called them twice to tell them what I needed, and they, both times, agreed that my appointment is still good. I drove all the way from Norfolk to this location to be turned around. I will never, ever, go there again.

I am pro choice and had to make a difficult decision because I was so sick during pregnancy so I came to Planned Parenthood thinking that they would be able to help I opted to have the surgical aspiration thinking that that would be the quickest and easiest decision even though it was invasive it was incredibly painful but very quick the nurses were nice and kind but I ended up getting a horrible infection three days after the procedure I had to get antibiotics and I was warned that I could become septic and die. I already had to deal with the pain mentally and physically from the aspiration abortion but now I had to deal with my own life being at risk. After countless trips to the hospital in the emergency room I was told to not go back to Planned Parenthood because still after two weeks I still had so much blood and tissue in my uterus because the aspiration procedure was also not done correctly and was not completed leaving me still with tons of tissue and blood inside of my uterus. Please if you need to make a decision maybe opt for the medication and do not trust all medical professionals. I am here two weeks later still sicker than ever my life on hold my job on hold and mentally and physically still not able to get over this if I could go back in time I would 1 million times over.

I'm thinking about everybody that needs to make this decision and praying that they're able to make the right choice for their body and go with the least invasive and make sure to follow up and if something doesn't feel right go to the doctor call and call again or go to the emergency room and fight for your self and advocate for yourself

I don't have health insurance, and for a lot of people like myself (men, women and their children) who also cannot afford healthcare; Planned Parenthood is the perfect place.
Obviously, for Emergencies go to an Urgent Care or the Emergency Room at any hospital.
It disappoints me that people don't know Planned Parenthood is a doctors office. They're great for yearly checkups, children vaccines, cancer screenings, and so much more.
If you are reading this; be sure to educate yourself and all the people around you who think PP, is ONLY a clinic for when you had an accident. Sex Education isn't always taught at home or in schools. PP has patenting classes, an endless supply of legal help and suggestions. If you are alone, feeling sick, don't have Health Insurance, get yourself down to a Planned Parenthood Office near you, these doctors, Licensed practitioners specialize in EVERYTHING. When it comes to cost, no it is not free, BUT they do work with you on a sliding scale.
Sure, you can go to one of those big hospitals, wait in a filthy Emergency Room for hours, then have the bill sent to your house, and NEVER pay it. That's the sort of thing that's causing our country problems.BE APART OF THE SOLUTION, not part of the PROBLEM.

Clean building, very friendly staff, convenient placement (my apartment is less than ten minutes away so I can pop in after work) with lots of info you'd never find at a private clinic. First appointment they asked me if I feared my personal safety due to my partner. I was pleasantly shocked they ask that because I think more women need a safe place they can go for help. When I told the doctor I wasn't planning on ever having kids, she was supportive. My private doctor I went to before moving here actually tried to talk me into having kids before I was even 22.

What I hate is I have to drive past protesters who hang photos of dead babies to try and scare people. They are disgusting and honestly sad. It angers me I have to use two buzzers, walk past bulletproof glass, and fear for my safety just because I want birth control. The people who work here are saviors and the patients shouldn't be demonized for being women

Staff was comforting and professional. I needed assistance with my birth control and they sat me down and discussed the details with me. Very inclusive with pronouns and made everyone feel accepted. You might encounter ignorant protesters outside the building which is not PP's fault. Just ignore and you do you boo!!!

This location just opened up within the past year. Most of the press surrounding Planned Parenthood is focused on abortions, but what I think most people don't realize that it's actually an Ob/Gyn and sexual health clinic for both men and women. Planned Parenthood seeks to provided these health services to everyone regardless of whether you do or do not have health insurance. For this reason, many people come in for care whether it's for STI check, annual exam, reproductive treatment or procedures.

It always amazes me that protestors continue to stand outside the building and make it even harder for people to come in. It's already very difficult for the patients to come in let alone being hassled by people who don't know what they are talking about.

The staff here are really nice and quite accommodating of unusually circumstances. They are open minded and friendly. You do have to make an appointment here in advance.

Remember, this is a clinic for both women AND men so you will not get turned away if you are a guy coming in for an STI screen/treatment.

I am 100% for Planned Parenthood and their core beliefs and will support it forever; however, this particular Planned Parenthood was disappointing to me. I had been here before about a year ago and I didn't have a problem, so when I made another appointment I was hoping it would go as smooth as it did last time. I made my appointment about two weeks ahead of time and did all the paperwork online so I wouldn't have to do it the day of. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment, just how like it said so on the website, checked in, and then sat down to wait. Time passed and several patients went ahead of me and I just thought that they scheduled their appointments before mine. I waited over an HOUR! I finally got up to the front to ask them when the doctor would be able to see me and they said that they had marked me as a no show- as if that wasn't bad enough one of the ladies said that they called me to tell me my insurance was inactive, but I did not receive a phone call or voicemail. I still wanted to see the doctor today, but the lady told me that it was up to the doctor if they could fit me in or not and that the price would've been double the price I paid the first time (I would also like to note that I didn't use my insurance last time either)! I'm usually an understanding person, but I didn't even receive an apology before leaving. I'll be going to the PP in northern Virginia whenever I'm in the area rather than this one if I'm able to.

I had been going here for about 3 years they had the kindest, smartest doctor. He left and now the have someone that just graduated school. She doesn't are about me or listen and even worse doesn't seem to know what she's doing!

The wait wasn't too bad but the nurse who helped take my blood pressure and urine was very pushy and came off irritated and rude. Made me feel stupid when I asked questions and told her I was thinking about taking my IUD out. I've had previous bad experiences with Planned Parenthood before so this wasn't the worst.

The security measures can be a little intimidating, albeit necessary. I was a little nervous as it was my first time visiting, but the staff was friendly and put my mind at ease. There's nothing more than the normal amount of paperwork, and the staff helped answer all of my questions. The only reason I'm not rating 5 stars: the staff provided me my medical information over the phone without first asking for the password I declared during my initial visit. The whole point of the password was to allegedly prevent unauthorized persons from accessing my confidential medical information. Since I'd imagine confidentiality is very important to most patients at PP, this was a little concerning.

The buzzer outside might not work at first, but stand outside for a few minutes and someone will be sure to let ya in. Place is clean and the staff is nice. The procedure I had took less than 5 minutes, however I had to wait about 30 minutes in the room to be seen. Would have given 4 or 5 stars if the staff would keep their opinions to themselves. Getting off of your bc and going back to condoms? "We'll be seeing you soon!"
