Our sister Cathy Sessums Marshall passed away on May 1st. Our hearts are broken and the world will never be the same place without her. She was kind, funny and the most giving person we've ever known. Cathy love the community and all of the people in Escalon and made friends with anyone she met at Planet Video. She adored her son Jesse Rudin and would do anything for him. She will be missed by her family and friends and the community of Escalon.

We are working on her funeral arrangements and will keep everyone posted as the details become available.

We have decided to close the store and liquidate all the inventory with all proceeds going to her son. There will be a benefit for Cathy Sessums Marshall on 5/20-5/21 and we plan to open the store and sell everything. In addition to the Videos we will have may other items for sale. (Details coming soon) Please help us spread the word to anyone who knew and loved Cathy.

If anyone has connections to the We Love Escalon Facebook page/person, or any other local connections where we can post her funeral arrangements and information about the benefit, we would appreciate it.

They had really old movies and I was surprised they had it! Thank You, Planet Video!!!

Their phone is disconnected. Is it still open or not. It's frustrating when the information on these sites are not updated.

Now that Hollywood video has closed its doors & Blockbuster is one of the last brick 'n mortar rental locations still chugging away...... I like the idea of a "mom 'n pop" video store still in business.

I used to actually rent from here years ago when I lived in Oakdale. Its a small, small location but for the size of it...they do carry some of the recent releases.

Only downfall? Now this was years ago- but I remember being asked for my social security # when filling out the 1 page of paperwork. So.... that was intimidating due to a lack of trust & identity theft in consumerism these days. But I never had any issues with any charges or other matters so I recommend this as a local video rental for those that live nearby.

This is an small town blu ray , dvd rental store. The owners are kind and helpful, the employees go out of their way to help. It reminds me of the old video stores. Highly recommended

This is my go-to movie place. I love that It is locally owned. Kathy, the owner, is always so personable and friendly. She is always willing to answer any questions I might have and offers her recommendations on new series' I may like. She is just a genuinely nice person! In addition, my pups always like to go get movies because they get scratches and treats! The puppy picture wall (of pups that come into the store) is always fun to look at, as well. Always a great experience at Planet Video!

Kathy is awesome, I just called her to check on a movie and she'll answer your questions. I love all the pictures of the puppies on their wall, they got my puppy Kane up there too, soon I'll bring Iana in there too to be added to the wall.

We all know that there's other ways to get movies. But it is always a pleasure to go in and see a smiling face. The movie deals you can get on the previously rented dvd's are a great offer! And now there's text message offers on weekly specials. Sodas and snacks, video games and TV series sets, DVD cleaning and pics of doggies and other pets on the wall. Keep it up, Kathy! You're the best!!!

Gets props just for still existing! I love browsing and renting while waiting on my food from Wongs next door.

We are newer to the Escalon area. This video store is absolutely a gem! My son discovered it and they even encourage pets to visit. They take pictures of your pets and make you feel at home; exactly what you would hope for in a small town video store! This business is what businesses used to be and still should be, but so often aren't. We feel very fortunate to have this comfortable place to rent our movies from and what a great selection they have! Great staff! Great experience all the way around! They make you feel like family and our pup, Lily, has her picture on the wall and looks forward to treats from the awesome owner and staff!
