Updated review for the customer service I received from Amy. She was reachable for questions while we were abroad and addressed our poor experience immediately. Despite this previous trip experience I would use this agency again because of the amazing customer service.

It was daunting to plan an Italy trip on our own so my husband and I reached out to Planet Hoppers / Amy Tan. We had about 5-6 months' lead time before we wanted to travel on our first European vacation.

We appreciated Amy's quick responses throughout the planning process. Once we filled out the "interest form" on her website, we were quickly on a call to describe our inspiration, must-sees, likes, dislikes, and other pertinent information. Her love of travel was obvious in our conversation. She asked us the types of hotels we like (boutique, etc). She asked how we like to travel (we prefer one activity a day). For Amy to put together an itinerary after the initial call, there was an up-front charge which can be applied towards the trip if we chose to hire Amy and spend a certain amount of dollars. We liked Amy on the phone and decided to proceed.

Amy outlined an itinerary (cities, possible activities) for us based on the amount of travel time. From there, we communicated via her online travel platform/tool and email to say "yes" or "no" to activities / tours, hotel suggestions, airlines, and more. This process was straightforward. We went back and forth until we had an itinerary with hotels, transfers, activities, airlines, and more that suited us. Amy's experience with timing also was useful - how long it would take to transfer from hotel to airport, etc. One thing to note is that Amy doesn't book restaurant reservations, but that turned out OK for us to just book on our own based on TripAdvisor recommendations.

Amy provided tips on traveling internationally for us. She was quick to respond to our questions in the months leading up to the trip. When needed, she called or texted me. We knew we wanted travel insurance which Amy also recommended.

Her invoice system is good in that we can pay online with our credit card(s). There were some charges paid to Planet Hoppers, to Viator (tour companies aggregator), and to the airline.

We were all set for our trip, but had an unexpected family situation occur about two weeks prior. We explained the situation to Amy and with a few days before our trip, Amy helped us make adjustments to the itinerary. Amy made necessary adjustments to our air and cancellations. Amy came to the rescue when a rebooked connecting flight got cancelled the day before travel. I can't tell you how valuable it was not to worry about the details. Amazing service.

Leading up to and during our trip, Amy kept us updated when a tour operator changed plans. We also contacted Amy a few times during our trip to cancel a transfer, for example, because we decided to walk between our hotel and the train station instead. Done with ease!

After our trip, Amy provided all the information we needed to file a claim with the travel insurance because of our itinerary change (which was covered). So helpful.

I know that many people plan and book vacations on their own, but for us, having a knowledgeable and communicative travel specialist was key. Easy to talk with. Accommodating to our needs (unexpected ones too).

We definitely will contact Amy again in the future for vacations that are outside of our comfort zone to plan. Can't wait until next time!

Amy organized our recent trip to Argentina, Iguazu Falls and Brazil and she did an amazing job. We had to make quite a few changes due to unforseen health issues and Amy was extremely patient and understanding. The trip was very well put together and it was clear Amy understood our wants and needs. Thank you Amy! Looking forward to the next trip you put together for us later this year.

Amy did a fantastic job at planning our family trip to Italy and France. We had a solid trip with something planned everyday. The tours were the best of the best and all of our activities were amazing. The whole trip ran seamlessly from the plane ride, transportation, hotels, and tours. She was always readily available if we had any questions or concerns during our trip. Highly recommend Planet Hoppers and Amy herself. It's worth every penny! We had the best trip that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We will definitely use Planet Hoppers for future trips!

Amy recently planned a first time European family vacation for 8, ages from 6 to mid 60s. We went to 3 different countries and needed flights, tickets for tours, transportation, and hotels for each place we stayed at.

We needed hotels that would accommodate a bigger group, and Amy found great places for us. Most rooms were larger than what we were expecting (having heard that European hotels are much smaller than American hotels), and even the ones that were smaller had other benefits that we missed later on. Also, the areas around the hotels always felt safe, were close to public transportation, and had lots of food options within walking distance.

Amy was very accommodating and responsive. We heard back from her that same day that we put in our vacation request. We gave her a list of must do things, and she planned our trip around making those things happen. All of the tours she booked were great, especially the Colosseum/Roman Forum/Palatine Hill tour! That was a group favorite. (We also lucked out and had a really good tour guide!) And she booked us a guided WB Harry Potter Tour, which was very cool and very much appreciated.

She suggested booking rides to and from our hotels, which we never thought about but greatly appreciated when we were super jet lagged/exhausted and in foreign countries where we didn't speak the language, and had 8 luggages to drag around.

We ran into a couple of bumps that were beyond anyone's control, and even though it was 2am in the States, Amy responded quickly to our phone call and was very reassuring and helpful when we needed to change plans quickly.

We also ended up changing the itinerary to add an extra day here or there and Amy had great suggestions for day trips or other destinations to look into.

One thing we really wanted was to go to the beach, and the location we chose was Sardinia. Amy found couple of hotel options and shared them with us. She told us that if she was taking her family on vacation to Sardinia, which was the place she would choose for her family. We decided to go there, and it was amazing. I can still hear the ocean waves and when I picture it in my mind it immediately brings back a peaceful feeling!

In the planning stages, Amy was very helpful streamlining our itinerary to be most cost effective as well. She was very professional, always courteous and accommodating, and responded quickly to emails, phone calls, and questions. And even though we planned our vacation months in advance, when something on one of the tours changed a week before we were supposed to leave and the tour company reached out to us, Amy reached out as well to make sure we were aware of the changes.

Writing this after the trip, I'm very grateful for all of Amy's expertise! I felt so overwhelmed just imagining that I had to plan this trip (which is why I didn't want to do it!). She helped deliver the vacation of a lifetime for us.

If I ever have another trip like this, I will for sure be using Planet Hoppers to make it happen!

It has been a few decades since I used a travel agent, and honestly I didn't know if they still existed. So thanks to online reviews like Yelp and Google, I was fortunate to find Amy Tan at Planet Hoppers. A few quick words to summarize Amy: organized, responsive, kind, caring, friendly, GREAT listening skills, accurate, knowledgeable and helpful.

My family just returned from the best trip that we have ever taken thanks to Amy. We traveled around France and Italy, and she arranged our lodgings, transfers and tours. I would not have known to do any of these particular tours without her guidance, and the tours were complete game changers in terms of making our vacation extra special and magical. The various tour guides were punctual, polite and informative. Amy selected top notch vendors that were all prompt, professional and reliable with friendly staff.

Working with Amy is delightful and put me at ease as she is dependable and very knowledgeable. First, she got to know my family by asking me questions about our travel goals and style, and she REALLY listened to me and understood what would make our vacation a success. Then she offered me many options for things to do and places to visit. Once I made my selections, Amy took care of all the travel, tours and lodging reservations including our transfers from airport to hotel to train station, etc. Having drivers waiting for us was such a nice perk as it took away any pressure or uncertainty on how to get from point A to point B as we went to new cities or countries.

I am truly grateful for her knowledge and direction. My husband was completely impressed by how seamless the trip was and by how much we were able to accomplish. I give Amy complete credit for making this all happen. She is very organized and provided me with all the travel documents and itineraries in a nice, neat package - that gave me peace of mind. She provided both a two page summary version, and also a longer, detailed version that included important links, phone numbers, and information like extra fees I would have to pay directly to the hotel or taxi service - so there were no surprises. I often referred to both my online itinerary that she set up in an online portal, as well as my binder I put together of all the print-outs I printed for everything (hotels, tours, transfers, etc). There were so many details to consider and keep track of, and Amy had it all covered.

Amy exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend her and her services without hesitation. I wish I could give her 10 stars. I feel so fortunate that I was able to work with her, as the itinerary she put together for my family was beyond anything I could have compiled myself. Thank you Amy for being instrumental in giving my family memories we will cherish forever!

My wife and I reached out to Planet Hoppers because we wanted some help planning our honeymoon in Europe. We are experienced at planning our own trips, but since we wanted to do something special for our honeymoon, we thought it would be a good idea to reach out to some travel agents. After some research and speaking with several different travel agents, we decided Amy from Planet Hoppers would be the best choice.

From our very first call, she had so much enthusiasm and you could feel her excitement and eagerness to plan our dream vacation. We had a discovery call where she asked questions to find out what would be our ideal trip, what places we wanted to see, how adventurous or relaxed, etc.

When she had a good idea of what we were looking for, she started creating proposals on possible locations; including a river cruise through Europe to see the Christmas markets. This was something we never even heard of and were excited to try. She was also quick to give us alternatives on places we said no to.

After destinations were decided, she quickly put together an itinerary including flights, trains, and hotels which she ran through with us several times to confirm this is what we wanted before finalizing the bookings.

One of the best parts is how organized she is, and putting together everything you need for your travel in one place. She gave us some final travel tips and best wishes and off we went.

Our honeymoon turned out wonderful, and a huge thanks to Amy for making it special and memorable. I would highly recommend her for any of your travel needs; big or small!

Amy was amazing! She helped us plan our honeymoon, and our first trip to Europe. We gave her a rough list of things we wanted to do, a budget, a deposit, and she did everything else! We got back a detailed itinerary, with transportation arranged, activities, and hotels with amazing views. She also informed each hotel and vendor that we were celebrating our honeymoon, so they helped us celebrate! Once we were in Greece, we were connected with a local representative on Whatsapp that answered all of our questions and helped calm our travel anxieties. Ever since we found Amy almost (literally) a decade ago, she has helped us with countless trips - international, domestic, AND cruises - with destinations ranging from UK, Iceland, and Alaska just to name a few. We had one new addition to our family 2 years ago and Amy was super helpful with our first babymoon to Hawaii & also a few trips we've taken with our son. We're now expecting our second baby in October and Amy came to the rescue again with our second babymoon.

We can't wait to take more trips as a family of 4 and see what else Amy has in store for us!
