The location on east capital is always very clean and the staff is very friendly!! I especially love the water massage chair

Bottom line up front: I recommend this location and the black card PF membership as it gives the most bang for your buck compared to the local competitors.

Pros: overall friendly staff, good range of equipment all well maintained and functional, layout of gym is sensible, facility is extremely clean, and staff is overall friendly. Free Wi-Fi is available in club though it is not password protected. Bathrooms are always kept well stocked, have lockable lockers, and showers.

Cons: it's not a 24/7 Planet Fitness- which is not always communicated as it should be aside from the regular staff hours being posted, but that's it- those are the hours. The 50% off drinks for members is limited to Powerade and water.

After my first week, 6 out of 7 days, that's my unbiased review.

The gym is well equipped and clean. The primary reason I joined is because of customer service provided by the club Manager (Leslie). She went 110% above and beyond my expectations. If she is the face of the company and what can be expected from their staff count me in. I am visiting from Texas and will be working in the area for a few weeks so I wanted to join a gym in the Slidell area. If all of the Planet Fitness Managers were like Leslie and provided that level of customer service Planet Fitness would dominate the market. I belong to both 24 Hour Fitness and Golds Gym in Texas and the customer service and attention to detail Leslie provided blows them away. Thank you Leslie!

As far as planet fitnesses go, this is a good one! It's usually not too crowded. It's kept pretty clean. There are pleeenty of cardio machines if you're into that. And because of covid, every other machine is taped off. In the free weights and smith machine area, it is kind of a free for all. Planet fitness claims to "enforce masks" but unfortunately no one really wears them.

Overall though...for the price you're really getting a great deal. Other than a free barbell, this gym has everything you will need for your workout routine. There are showers, massage beds, all of that good stuff. And the staff seem very friendly. If living in Slidell on a budget, I would highly recommend this gym.

Only reason I give it 4/5 stars is due to the lack of barbell (although there are 4 to 5 smith machines) although I do believe this is standard for planet fitnesses. And also I wish people would wipe down their equipment more. xoxo

signed up for a 24 hour gym it hasn't been that in years now. they said if was too maintain cleanliness and operations... but the place isn't really clean. often times you'll see the same handprint on a mirror for several days.

I work crazy hours the times make it hard to get in 7 pm on weekends when I could get there wish they would go back to 24 hours I might have to cancel and go to anytime fitness because of the hours but over all not bad gym

So before June 15th, the gym was good enough for what it was. They took Covid serious enough, and the staff has always been cordial/very-friendly with me. But after June 15th, they had an equipment upgrade... not just a few new machines, but almost an entire gym upgrade. The machines & weights are very modern, well maintained, and able to provide for a full body workout -- I don't care if you're some Gym Level Over9000, you'll find all you need and more at this location. And they have both the stand up and lay in tanning beds, and the Red Light therapy. 5 stars for the overhaul guys.

This is a really nice gym. If you're hardcore, it's probably not for you, but for the rest of us, it's an awesome place to get a great workout. Plenty of equipment and it's always open! Staff is so friendly. Place is clean.
Only complaint is the tanning beds. Bought the higher membership so I could tan. They are 10 minute beds. I have been going to full 10 minutes for 7 days in a row now and basically have no color. If you need to tan, stick with a real tanning salon. The one here isn't worth the time.

I think that this is a great kindergarten gym. Perfect for a beginner. If you're used to working out in a real gym steer clear.

Always helpful and most of all affordable !!!
Also a nice place to meet new friends.
