As much as I come here it's always something different. It's clear the front desk girl Ellie doesn't me personally.
I've worn the same things to the gym all the time: this lady stops me and tells me to turn around AFTER ALREADY checking into the gym for inappropriate shoes. I asked her was it a "gym policy" she said no it's just me. Specifically stating she just had her own issue with me. My shoes are made to be worn inside the gym and I explained that.
When I asked her for management info to reach out to corporate she was unwilling to help and acted as if she knew no info. You following policy but don't know your managers number or email? Crazy right.
On top of the fact I've been a member for years and never had any issue with this location or my shoes.. I've heard things about her before but now I'm going to tell everyone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

VERY poor customer service.
I called to pause or cancel a membership due to illness. Each time I called, they told several different stories regarding the process. I asked to speak to a manager, and Terra claimed to be the manager. I explained our account had been billed during a hold, and she was of no help in getting a refund. All the stories they told me to cancel or hold a membership: 1) Come in to sign a form requesting a hold (again, the hold is for medical reasons); 2) Send a certified letter to the gym (in 2021?!) to cancel - emails not allowed; 3) Hold for only 1 month; 4) Hold for 3 months with medical documentation (who would trust incompetent people with private medical records?)
I know the membership seems inexpensive, but that's because they make it impossible to cancel once they have access to your bank account. It's not worth the headache. Go to a real gym with processes that make sense.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi there! We're sad to hear that you had such a difficult time cancelling your membership with us! We try our best to make things as straightforward as possible. Our policies regarding membership cancellation are present in both our membership agreements and on our website (https://www.planetfitness.com/about-planet-fitness/planet-fitness-policies) and state that memberships must either be cancelled in person or by mail. We do this because we need a signature on file so no mistakes are made in the process. We understand and are sympathetic toward your frustration. Thank you for reaching out to us!

When I first visited this gym it was on point; clean, working machines, friendly staff etc.
Now however, a few things have changed. The gym is still relatively clean but unfortunately the upkeep on the machines is abysmal. There has been an entire row of treadmills that have been out of order for at least six months. Some of the weight machines have been broken for so long, it's clear that they have no intention of fixing them. I don't know if the ownership has changed but there is an obvious lack of concern. The membership has obviously increased because it's a lot more crowded lately. Therefore you'd think they'd accommodate members by repairing broken machines.
Also, the most annoying thing about this gym is the climate! It is entirely TOO HOT!! I have been to lots of gyms from here and other cities, including other PFs and none of them have been as hot as this one! Anyone who knows ANYTHING about the basics of fitness, knows that the objective is to "work up" a sweat NOT to start off sweaty. And the only way to do that is to get your body in "the zone". Unless you're in a Hot Yoga class this climate is unacceptable and sometimes bordering on dangerous.
It doesn't make sense to have the front door open when it's 70-80 degrees outside, that money could be put to much better use. As a business owner I'd be pissed if my employees were recklessly running up my electric bill.
There are some really nice people working here, hopefully management can step it up.
In response to the comment from the PF representative: I have made an attempt to contact management. The problem is, they don't see the heat as an issue. Therefore I'm not going to continue to waste my time with "gym" managers who clearly don't have a logical understanding and/or basic knowledge of what a gym's climate should be. Over 70° is fine at home chillin' but NOT where people are running on treadmills, using other cardio equipment or lifting weights. Whenever I've asked about the heat or why the doors are open when it's warm outside, the employees are clueless, which is why I tried to contact management.
Also it's not on me to mention the row of treadmills that have been "temporarily" out of order for over 6 months. They know they're broken. Question is ... do they care?
I must give credit where credit is due. All new cardio machines have replaced the old ones. A much needed and appreciated upgrade.
Now if only they could add toiletry caddies in the showers and add chairs to the dressing rooms. I've been to PFs all over the state of IL and in other cities, and they all have caddies & chairs. There's really no excuse for this location not to. Also it would be nice if they brought the power ropes back.
Other than those shortcomings, the gym is clean and most of the staff is friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

While living out of state I was a black card member at a PF so I was familiar with the PF flow. After moving back home, I joined the Pullman club in March 2018 at the $10 level because this club does not have a Beauty Angle machine. When I inquired just recently I found out Chatham PF has one but the atmosphere is not the same there so Imma stay here & hope they get one!
For those who don't know what the machine does, I attached pics that include written info. Basically it's a stand up tanning bed that DOES NOT emit
uvb/uva rays but rather a light that promotes an overall feeling of wellness (with consistent use). I suffer from SAD syndrome thru fall & winter months and the light therapy really is a pick me upper! The machine has a plate you stand on that vibrates on 4 different levels that REALLY wake/warm up muscles. This was always my 1st stop before my workout! My agreement # is 078012908. I would appreciate if the GM of the Pullman location would contact me to discuss the possibility of getting a vibrashake/beauty angle machine! Thanks in advance. Giving a 4 star because there is no beauty angle. Ms E Fitz
Pullman PF under new ownership has in fact installed the 'Beauty Angel/light therapy bay"! They listened!....I'm grateful and love the club...staff & members are THE best! As I am in close contact w/my 86 yr old mother (cancer survivor) due to covid I haven't been to club since it reopened. Unfortunately install wasn't completed before gyms shut down & I'm in process of figuring out how/when I'll be back. Talking to friends who have returned, my understanding is all possible precautions available are in effect to keep staff & members well. Facility cleanliness was NEVER an issue; staff ALWAYS did an excellent job of cleaning! KUDOS!! Planning to go very early one day this week!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This is an updated review.
I checked in at the front desk and the young lady said that I need to update my file with my BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER and ROUTING NUMBER.
I declined and asked "why do you need additional bank info when my payments and card are already in good standing?!"
The manager couldn't explain so I canceled my membership right there.
This is a $10 gym...I could totally understand if this was EBC or a state of the art facility; but absolutely NOTHING about planet fitness warrants my bank account number and ROUTING NUMBER.
BYE!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 5, 2017Previous reviewPros:
Knowledgable staff, plenty of parking, not stinky, clean locker rooms / clean bathrooms, not too many creeps or thots here. This place is the complete opposite of LA fitness.
Cons:
Crowded after 5 so you might have to wait for a machine. I've noticed a sink that's been down for months and a leg press that's been out of order for awhile. Their equipment is not as high tech as other gyms but for 10 dollars a month I can't complain. :) - Sabrina J.Chicago, IL01Jan 29, 2022
I really like this gym. Employees are extremely friendly and helpful at night. Coming in the morning it's a different vibe. So I normally workout in evenings. Despite that this place is always clean and stocked.

I started coming to this gym 3 years ago and everything has always been fine until yesterday somebody was bothered because I was using a machine that she wasn't using and told me Bluntly to get off because that was her next machine to use and I explained to her with RESPECT that I needed one more set and starts yelling like she got no sense calling me a dumb ass and retarded. Mind you that i wasn't the only one just working out in that area there were 4 people using the machines doing SETS like I was. For some reason I was the only one she was more concerned about I felt like I was racially targeted because I am Hispanic. She goes and tells the "Manager" Terra and Terra doesn't do anything to de escalate the situation and goes to tell me ONLY ME to get off the machine because I was in the way of the other person's workout routine and she asked me for my personal information in front of other people and asked where my home gym was I told her and she told me to go to the front desk very rudely rolling her eyes but i still got up from the machine and went with her. Up in the counter she tells me that I have to go to my home gym because thats where I signed up but I pay $22 a month to go to any gym I want. Overall the "Manager" Terra has the most rude way to talk to people and isn't any help in situations like the one I had yesterday and tells people to go to their home gyms. I guess now we only pay to go to OUR home gyms and to get off equipment when other people need it when you're obviously in the middle of a workout. This one star is for Terra. everyone else has amazing customer service.

MY People. I would give this establishment negative stars if possible. Yes the struggle is real but do we really need to treat each other this way. While visiting my hometown in the hood I attempted to purchase a months membership here. The manager was HORRIBLE, rude with a bad attitude. The guy signing me up did everything in his power to discourage me. I was asked to provide a routing number and account number along with a valid credit card. WTW? No thanks I passed to all possible breaches in my identity.
