Stopped in here because Tokyo Underground was closed. Waited on one dine in pizza for nearly an hour, then was told that half of the pizza did not turn out right, but they would give us a second pizza free. Nice soda machine though.

This was my second try at getting delivery from them. The first time I was a little drunk, so I wanted to believe that my pizza showed up looking like a kindergarten class made it because I had made some mistake in my order. I was wrong. It seems the people behind the glass at Pizza Parts and Service just don't give a crap that you can find better pizza at least 4 other places on H st for half the price. I made my order, asked the order taker to repeat it back, and added "Would you mind taking some extra care with this order? My last one showed up looking kind of nasty". Still I got a pizza that looked terrible.

Stay away. You're better off ordering from Domino's. At least they have managers that respond to quality and service issues.

One of my pizzas. It was suppose to have spinach on it, and probably not burnt up and terrible looking.

      What's wrong with this place?

The food is good, but the service is a headache. Getting decent pizza delivered in the H Street can be a hassle. This place doesn't help at all. They are unreliable and unapologetic. One time, got a call telling me that they didn't have a driver and couldn't deliver. Other times, they've been out of items. Tonight they were out of salad by 6:45pm.

This place is run by amateurs.

      This place is a joke.

Ordered online at 4:50. Ordered an 18 inch plain pizza and a 14 inch speciality pizza and one salad. At 5:30 got a call saying they could not deliver the 18 inch pizza because they didn't have the boxes for it, but in exchange would get two plain 14 inch pizzas for the same price. They said they had been trying to call for some time, which was not true as my phone never rang. First red flag. They said it would be 30 minutes, making it 6:00 pm. That was 70 minutes, but they called and were throwing in a free pizza, so I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

So it gets to be 6:15 and nothing. I call again and they said my order was out the door. We live less than a mile away, so it should take no time at all.

6:35 and nothing. We call again, and again they say it is out the door.

At 7:00 the guy showed up, finally and I told him forget as I knew it was not coming after the second call and scrambled to feed my two young sons who thought they were getting pizza. What blew my mind is that he reacted like it happens all the time. Pissed off people telling him to forget the food.

So this is clearly what happened. They didn't make any of the pizza after they called to tell me they didn't have the right boxes, then they lied at 6:15 when they said it was out the door and lied again at 6:35.

If you are going to have delivery as part of your business plan you should actually seem to care about it.

I would have loved to have reviewed the pizza, but I didn't get to have it. This place will never get my money what a terrible experience.

We all know that DC is a bit of a desert for good NY style pizza, but I will say this is one of the best in DC. I love that they deliver too which is amazing...

...but if you want to put on pants and get out of the house, the ambiance inside is cute and clean.

I am a classic pizza person, ya know, cheese or pepperoni, but I have gotten a bit adventurous and tried a couple of their others when I am ready to mix things up. They didn't disappoint.

The garlic knots are delicious as well.

It's a bummer to me to write this review, because I live in the hood and want to love this place. But the reality is: both the service and the food is mediocre. The food (I had just two slices of cheese pizza, I should say) seems to include cheap, manufactured cheese that made me long for the moment when my eating was done. The crust was soft and cardboard. It's an attempt at NY pizza without the ability or willingness to go all the way. Which is a bummer that goes even beyond the clear faults of Parts and Service. I'm not from NYC and I'm not a pizza snob. But we all know what "New York pizza" is -- it's still mind-boggling to me that I can go to almost any city, and plenty of towns, and find a good slice of NY pizza, but nowhere in DC has figured it out yet.

Anyway, pizza aside, there's the service. I walked in, ordered two slices, and saw a fresh, almost full pie of cheese za behind the counter. Fifteen minutes later I inquired as to what was up. The girl at the register said they had to cook another one and it would be out in one second and she'd throw in a third slice for the unexpected wait. It wasn't a few seconds. More than five minutes later I got my pizza -- 20 minutes after ordering two quick slices -- and the third slice was no longer part of the equation.

First-world problems, I realize, but you'd be far better off going to H & Pizza down the street, or Red Rocks, or anywhere else, really.

Strolls in 10 minutes before they close and orders a large specialty pizza.

No grunts from any of the staff. Just back to business, which I appreciated, and believe that's how a business should operate. If they didn't want my business, I could of happily walked down to h&.

I've been wanting to check this place out!

A large pie for $20 including tax (18') seems appropriate for a company that makes in house mozz. Hopefully, their other ingredients are top notch too. Ideal size for two people to share.

Ordered a number 11, which was a white pizza, with sausage, mushrooms, garlic, basil, and lots of mozzarella. I really enjoyed the pizza. It was crispy, a little doughy the crusts.... it was all I needed. Flavorful..... a little sweet.... and didn't ... anything extra. Perhaps more basil, as one can never have too much.

      Would I go back? Sure.

Alright, so I can't speak to the delivery service here, since this place is about four blocks from my house. But the pizza itself is absolutely amazing. Maybe the best traditional pizza I've had in DC. Sure, &pizza wins for originality, but when you just want a big slice of hot pizza with lots and lots of cheese and pepperoni, this is where it's at.

I don't have much else to say beyond that. It's pizza. We all know the drill. Pizza Parts & Service just does it really, really well. And for cheap--it's about $4 for a big slice. I guess their delivery isn't great, but if you're in the neighborhood, I highly recommend this place.

The sanitary conditions of Pizza Parts and Services is in no way, shape or form acceptable. Seeing what happened Sunday night was so disgusting and surprisingly beat even the horrible experience we had at Steak and Ice (all male employees, no soap in the men's room = you do the math).

We got to PPS and ordered our meal. After paying we examined the receipt to find that they didn't put in our order of wings and had input a regular not Nonna (thick crust rectangle) pizza. We checked with the girl and were rung up separately for the wings and she gave a verbal to the pizza maker to make it a Nonna instead. Didn't think it was a big deal since the issue was corrected and the poor girl in the front, nice as she was, was massively swamped with the phone frequently ringing plus taking orders and getting food to customers.

Most of the kitchen is viewable to those waiting for food to be prepped and cooked so as we waited we watched. I saw the girl at the front frantically trying to manage the front station and when the pizza maker came over I thought he was going to help her. Instead he picked up his cell phone fiddled with it, put it to his ear and --while still talking on the phone-- went back to making pizzas. Didn't wash his hands. Didn't put on gloves. When his call was done he put his phone into the back pocket of his jeans and again went back to making pizza with his bare hands. Of note, the gentleman working in the far back near the ovens was wearing gloves.

In retrospect I should have said something right then and made sure that the guy washed his hands before he made my pizza but I was just so surprised that I was frozen in disbelief. Instead I stared on, my attention now heightened to all other wrongdoings. Then it became very apparent that the girl, who had been fidgeting with her hair the whole time, was not just taking orders and handing out boxes of pizza - she was also using her bare hands to separate single slices of pizza. Yes she should have had another employee helping at the front of the shop, but she should not have been scratching her head, touching her hair and handling money while also touching food. Isn't that common sense?

Though it's pretty insignificant to the other problems, our order was off when we got it. We'd asked for no mushrooms on half of the pizza and there were mushrooms on the whole thing (albeit fewer on half of it). Also, despite what some of the other reviews here say, they refused to do a pizza half and half of two different specialties even if they did have the same sauce. And even though they claim they will deliver soon, they were very adamant in person that they don't and gave no indication that they will.

Not sure if the issues here are due to employees being under trained or just not caring...or if it's something more systemic since it seems like there were similar issues at Steak and Ice. It's definitely something that needs to be addressed or surely this place will go down the tubes just like its predecessor. At least they're consistent with their promo video: "this shit is fucked up cuz it's shady in th[is] biz."

Brian S and I decided to go here the other night while waiting for our Lyft to arrive (how else would we get home from H street). I got a white pizza with ricotta that was quite good and reasonably priced. I always disagree that NY pizza is way better than DC's pizza because I think DC has a lot of really good spots. What NY really does beat us at is pizza by the slice. I am sure I am forgetting somewhere, but off the top of my head I can't think of a single by the slice pizza place (jumbo slice excluded) in Adams Morgan, Woodley, Dupont or U street.

I hope Pizza Parts and Service thrives and we see more places like this popping up throughout the city.

This place should be closed. They forgot to make one of our pizzas and when they finally got around to making it, as our other pizza sat there getting cold, it came out as a soupy mess. They also ran out of salad ingredients and so instead of refunding our money they decided to give us a different salad that we hadn't ordered. Thanks for wasting our time and providing an unappetizing meal.
