I was driving back to my hotel debating what I'm going to eat for lunch when suddenly tada! PITA INN. I made a fat U-Turn and ordered.
Food:
I ordered the meat mix. It was delicious! Definitely one of the best Mediterranean meals I've had! I didn't expect it to be this good since it seemed like I was in the middle of nowhere. Red sauce and white sauce on the side.
Service:
Very friend staff. Order at counter and wait for your calling.
Environment:
Fairly large seating area. Place was packed by the time I got my food.
Price:
Very cheap!! I had so much food and it was under $10

Pita Inn is one of the most iconic restaurants in the Chicagoland area!
There is literally no other hummus that compares to their hummus, and the pita bread they bake daily is also available at the Pita Inn Market... Thank GOD! Because if it weren't, getting it in tinfoil from the restaurant would be too infuriating!
That being said, getting literally anything from the restaurant will be the best decision of your day! I highly recommend the falafel sandwiches both are delicious!
While they have renovated, since my childhood... making the space far bigger (and much nicer and more inviting), beware there is always a huge line... but it's absolutely worth it!
Do not skip the baklava!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jickles H.Chicago, IL37531Dec 6, 2023
I've been eating at this Pita Inn for decades and never reviewed it? The review is long overdue!
Pita Inn does great Middle Eastern food and it's very affordable. Everything is cooked to order and fresh. Whatever you get will be high quality and delicious.
I've always been a fan of the Businessman Lunch, a combo plate of their meat, with falafel, rice, lettuce, and tomato. It's served Monday through Friday from 11 - 3. My favorite meat is the kefta kabob. It's ground beef with some spices and I think onion. It's very tender, delicious, and addictive. The chicken breast is nicely marinated and grilled. Sandwiches are very big and delicious.
I've had the hummus and baba ganouj and fans of those items will be very happy with the Pita Inn versions. Super tasty and great texture.
The lunch rush can be a crazy time so call ahead if you have the option. The line has literally backed out the door at times.
If you want a quick Middle Eastern lunch without a big cash and time investment, Pita Inn is the place to be!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Nov 29, 2023
I've grown up going to the Pita Inn in Skokie, but since moving to Wheeling this location is much more convenient. I often visit during lunch during the week and grab their business special lunch. It's such great deal for SO much food. It's enough for 2 meals and you get a little bit of everything.
Once you walk in they have arrows on the ground still from the pandemic but it's actually super helpful when they get busy because it keeps folks in line. Once you get up to the counter and order, you let them know if you're dining in or ordering for carry out. The food comes up at the counter when your number is called and you're on your merry way.
The food is great and consistent for the price. Fast and easy if you're in a rush, and the staff is great at communicating and getting you things you need.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Suraya W.Waukegan, IL1103May 3, 2024
Offers quick, consistent and delicious Middle Eastern staples. Everyone who works there is nice and pleasant. Their lunch specials are generous and offer great value. The dine in situation is casual, clean and fuss free. There is even some outdoor seating. I am obsessed.

Casual ambience, quick service, and good food. First time here ordering the combination feast with a side of chicken Schwarma sandwich, fries and lentil soup. Everything was good. The place is clean and busy. I enjoyed the pita, nice and warm. I would eat here again if in the area.

Which ever Pita Inn you try you will ALWAYS get a good consistent meal. Went with the chicken tender entree with a fatoush salad upgrade. The chicken is unbelievable! So tender and flavorful. The rice is fluffy and so yummy! I just love this dish!

Everything is fresh and flavorful. This time had the chicken shawarma entree with fatoush salad. Rice is fluffy, chicken is moist and the salad is fresh. Significant other tried a piece of the impossible kefta kabob and he said it was amazing. I didn't try it but wow it smelled so good.
Apr 26, 2020Previous reviewOrdered takeout during the quarantine. It's great as it usually is. I get a couple different things and everything is tasty. My favorite is the chicken shawarma fatoush salad. The dressing is a vinegarette. The other dish I like is the Shoah kabob that has a bunch of pieces of meat over rice with a side salad. My sig other gets the vegetarian combo and it has a bunch of food. The mint iced tea is so refreshing.

Been going here for over 30 years. Place is excellent. The food is excellent. The service and prices are way above par. The remodeled the restaurant which is a lot more comfortable. Best falifals I have ever tasted.

Pita Inn, possibly the best mediterranean restaurant in Chicago suburbs. If this isn't on your usual palate, I highly recommend you experience it at least once in your life time.
Ordering the pita and hummus is a MUST. The pita is served warm/mildly toasted and goes great with their variety of hummus choices. I normally stick with the regular hummus and you cannot go wrong with this.
Their beef and chicken shawarma are full and flavor and incredibly fresh. We ordered the spicy chicken entree for the first time which had a powerful kick. The entrees come with rice which is VERY filling. Sandwich's are also incredible but don't come with rice unless requested.
Also tried falafel for the first time EVER and was pleasantly surprised. This is a meatless option and tastes amazing. Crispy fried outside with warm filling, truly delicious.
Overall, I love Pita Inn. Can you tell? We've been coming here for decades and their consistency and quality has stayed the same.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0
