Chicago concert. Horrible customer experience. Bone heads have one extremely slow entry. Killing me smalls. Guestimate over an hour to get in with a line approx 600yards. Wrapped around to the James Joyce Pub. Idiots! What a pleasure to be screwed. Hugely disappointed.

I left a concert early tonight after the main act played two songs because the audio quality was so poor. It was really disappointing, because the act is someone really talented, but everything was so jumbled it wasn't really possible to distinguish between the singer's voice and the music from the instruments. It was all jumbled, and the singer's voice sounded like it was wayyyy higher pitched than it normally should be, like how people sound when you fast forward them.
Also, they set up the entry line to be in the sun on a 95ºF day and made us stand right next to a bus that was running the whole time. We were sweating soooo much.
And then when we got into the concert, some of the ushers were incredibly rude.
And they put all of the people handling the sound mixing directly in front of the rear 2/3 of the seats. They weren't even on a lower level than the crowd. I was sat in my seat and there was literally a 6-foot camera set up by the venue DIRECTLY in front of my chair and blocking the view of me and the people immediately to my left and immediately to my right. There were about six people in the mixing area and they were walking around and standing up.
Imagine you're sitting in a chair in the doorway of a classroom and you're watching a classroom that's happening outside of the window, but you're looking at the concert while the classroom is in session and while the teacher is teaching and walking around and COMPLETELY blocking your view.
I want to emphasize that this wasn't like just having a single tall person in front of you in a concert. They put the mixing equipment directly on the same ground as all of the seats, and they had everyone doing the mixing right there on the same level as you. But what I could not see was the performer. Instead, I saw the whole mixing crew walking around and moving back and forth blocking the view of everyone in my row and every row behind it. I paid about $200 for my ticket, and this was just a poorly run concert all around.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liz W.Manassas, VA7842Jul 25, 2022
The venue and employees at the beer stands/tents were friendly and enjoyable. However the employees who are considered ushers were incredibly rude. My friend and I were conversing with one usher but his co-usher came out of nowhere and told us to "back off". Later on in the night in the night I approached an usher near the pit and she told me that "my thoughts and questions were irrelevant since I didn't have pit tickets" . These two situations pissed me off and I will not be returning to this venue

Came here for the first Baltimore Jazzy Summer Nights concert series here. We parked at the public garage in Little Italy (about 3 blocks east), which was $4 after 4:30 on weeknights. The ticket prices started from $7 (lawn) to $22 (near the stage). We got the $22 tickets.
As we entered the venue, l had to have my purse searched, but no big deal. Our seat were on the end of the front section (the 100s). These seats are located under a covered pavillion. There is another location at the rear of the venue, the lawn section, where folks can bring chairs and the like to sit and view the concert.
The event started off with Baltimorian DJ Tanz, who was great! The first act was Baltimore native Rufus Roundtree and his band, who were great. The main act, jazz trombone player Jeff Bradshaw, was awesome as usual.
The venue had stalls located at the entrance area and on the opposite stage side with food, drinks and spirits for sale. The restrooms were tended by staff, who were on site (with tip jars located on the sink) and the upkeep was tidy.
My only complaint was that the sound system has a lot of feedback, which made it difficult at times to hear what an artist was saying to the crowd. I would need for Pier Six to work on that.
All in all, a delightful outing for a Thursday night!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matt V.Lusby, MD4121Jun 29, 2017
We have several complaints about this venue:
First: Venue advertised that doors opened at 6:30; however the first band started at 6:30 and it took us over an hour getting into the Venue.
Second: There is NO view from the Lawn; they don't even have a video screen too see the band.
Third: Bathrooms, well Porta-Potties; by the start of the Headliner they where overflowing.
Forth: Over Priced drinks; $14 for a Beer and $18 for a Shot of HOT whiskey.
We won't be attending this venue ever again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 31, 2015
An outdoor pavilion which is a nice concept for concerts. It's got a giant tent that covers the area in case Mother Nature strikes and it's close to the harbor so all the sound goes out that way and doesn't disturb the city.
I saw Clutch and Mastodon here and it was a fun show. I've seen Mastodon several times and they always rock. It was my first time seeing Clutch and they were awesome. They're from Maryland so this was a nice homecoming for them.
The sound could've been more improved but it's outdoors so I can't fault them too much. The restrooms were a bit dirty so be cautious of that when you go in. Aside from that it's not a bad venue for a show.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 5, 2013
I saw an artist here in June. They have the most ridiculous rules: No glow sticks or any type of lights.
This Pavilion "area" wasn't as big as I thought it would be. Seating though was nice, you could actually see the stage.
There was grass you could hang out on in the back, but it wasn't a big section. Behind that was a concrete path you could sit off the Harbor (literally, take a dive if you want).
They did have normal bathrooms, including porter potties.
No, I wouldn't come here again. Horrible venue for a concert.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 26, 2018
This was my 1st time attending a show here last night. It's actually called the Mecu Pavilion now. I had purchased tickets to see Charlie Wilson on groupon. I had no problem redeeming my ticket to be scanned upon entering. It was a raining night for sure. Not so sure how I felt about being next to the water in this situation. All I could think is please don't let it flood. After the heavy pour down before the show I have to say that the rain did lighten up enough for us to be able to enjoy the show. I had pretty good seats. I was in section 205 Row H Seat 6. I had a pretty good view when people were not standing in front of me. LOL. I am a shorty. I still enjoyed the show. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Items for purchase are pretty pricey but, to be expected when attending an event like this. I have to say that the bathrooms were pretty clean. Overall it was a pretty good 1st experience here for me. I would return to see another show. By the way Avery Sunshine and Charlie Wilson both had an awesome performance.

The new seats are ridiculously small. I'm an average sized guy, 5'9" and 160 pounds. My legs were hanging off the side of the seat. I had a much larger person sitting next to me who had a lot of trouble fitting in the seat.
Then as the crowd stands, there is an equally small amount of vertical space in front of the tiny seat, so people move to the aisles only to be pushed back together by aggressive security.
I had obstructed view seats because of a pole. I understand we need poles to hold up the canvas roof, but this was not disclosed on any seating chart.
They need to widen the gates for exit. The small exits lead to pushy crowds, long exit times, and a potentially dangerous situation
I'm an easy going guy who normally doesn't write bad reviews and I am NOT one of those people who would sit on Pier 7 and steal the concert. But, I now have better understanding why they do it. The facility is NOT fun to go to.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sue G.Allentown, PA67282612Aug 17, 2016
What a great venue! We arrived in the middle of the first act for Volbeat. The opening act was terrible, so thank goodness Pier Six is designed so that you can meander around if you don't want to be in the immediate concert area.
We parked our car in the Harbor East section, a less than five minute walk away, for $9 for the night. Good deal! Tons of people were on the street, walking to the concert or patronizing the many restaurants and bars in that section.
The stage, covered seating area and lawn is surrounded by a moat-like walkway, where you can walk along the water or sit on benches overlooking Inner Harbor. The lawn section is slightly elevated so that you can still see the stage, which isn't very far away. (I've had lawn seats at bigger venues and couldn't see a thing. That's not the case here.)
There are a few alcohol and food stands on both sides of the concert area, and they were surprisingly not ridiculously overpriced. Bathrooms were actual bathrooms, clean and maintained by attendants and accessible from either side of the concert area.
Tons of staff and security on site, which was reassuring. They were friendly, helpful and alert, keeping aisles safe and clear and immediately putting an end to smoking and other behaviors considered disruptive or unsafe to fellow concert-goers. But they were cool too, allowing people to approach the stage for photos and asking politely for people to clear the aisles.
Our seats were pretty close to the stage, slightly off to the right. It would have been perfect had it not been for the speakers, which literally knocked the wind out of me. It was as if someone was standing on my chest. After awhile I had to move to the section next to us. People seemed to move around a lot and no one seemed to mind.
We really loved that this was an intimate venue with something to do before the show other than stand there (walk along the water, sit on a bench, talk to the boaters along the pier, grab a bite or a drink.) Looking forward to attending more concerts there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
