For the past 8 years, this has been my absolute favorite Pho restaurant! Their broth is so delicious! I've ordered the same thing: rare steak pho, fried egg rolls and shrimp fried rice. Their prices have gone up, but whose prices haven't. Anyone I've ever taken here is always impressed with the food and quick service. Make sure to take cash as they are cash only.

We ordered the Dac Biet & Bo Vien (pho bo with special rare steak, well done flank, brisket, tendon, tripe & beef ball), a plain pho with no meat and the Cha Gio (Vietnamese fried egg rolls).
The pho tastes fairly standard for a bowl of pho, which is to say the soup was good but nothing special. And for the Dac Biet & Bo Vien, they only had one size: medium. For someone like me who is used to smaller portions, the portions here - even the medium - were just so large. And the meat was a bit tough, which made it difficult to chew and really enjoy.
But to be honest, the real star of the meal was the vegetarian egg roll. It tasted delicious, served piping hot. The outside was wonderfully crunchy, the insides were amazingly savory and the sauce perfectly complemented the egg rolls. Even though this was the vegetarian egg roll, it was so rich and flavorful.
The place itself is your standard Vietnamese pho joint, looking like a typical mom-and-pop run restaurant. And note that they're cash only so make sure to bring some cash when you come in!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 26, 2023Updated review
The food is alright but the service was subpar today. The server dipped his finger in my soup while setting it on the table, not once but twice. I lost my appetite entirely.
We were provided just 3 waters for 5 people (I guess children don't require h2o?) and our boba drink came with a narrow straw that doesn't fit boba?
We also don't get any plates for the appetizer and the dipping sauce only for brought out once we were already eating them....
The food is fine but I would only get take out if coming here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Apr 2, 2015Previous reviewA consistently good bowl of pho for when you have that craving. The broth is good, definitely not great. I don't pick up a lot of flavorful notes although the fresh herbs and jalapeños do add a great aroma. The meats tend to be overcooked and the servings are not the most generous.
Jan 6, 2013Previous reviewThe place is on the grungy side, but the Pho is yummy and doesn't break the bank!
Great for a casual meal. - John D.San Francisco, CA03Dec 1, 2023
I purchased #14: rare beef and brisket large.
-Broth: meh, took some seasoning to get it where it's juicy.
-noodles: not bad. Good portion for large
-beef- barely any. Not high quality. Scrawny.
Overall- skip. Nothing worth the trip. But overall large was good PORTION for a hefty meal without the bloat.
Service was quick. Place was clean.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 7, 2023
Decent place for Vietnamese food in the area. They have an expansive menu and good selection for Pho soups. We've been here a few times and this place has plenty of tables for dining in and a quick order for takeout. Typically, the wait time is around 10-15 minutes if your order in. We ordered the rice combo and they were good and flavorful. The prices however, were steep compared to San Jose prices. Overall, not bad Vietnamese eatery for the area.
Cheers!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Justin Q.San Francisco Bay Area, CA7268179Mar 13, 2024
We been going here since 2004. Good food but needs to improve on cleaning the tables, plates and pork and spoon. They be dirty when we dine in here. Maybe invest on replacing and buying new ones. They only accept cash as a payment.

Used to be our go-to pho place but recently just found hair in our soup and felt nauseous after eating the food :/ we will not be back.

My career requires me to be on the go and I've been here a few times for a quick lunch. Average food, but their service is quick.
My main complaint is this is cash only with no ATM. I've been very lucky during all my visits to have loose change handy.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Autumn C.Castro Valley, CA0114Mar 24, 2024
Pho is good , my favorite are the egg rolls , they give you huge ones & a lot more than any pho place I have ever been to ,while being the same price . Please please change your times online if you close at 8 it shouldn't say 9.thanks!

This place is decent. I got the pho dac biet & bo vien. It is more on the pricey side where it is more than $15 for the pho that i had. The pho itself average. Since my family and i came here for late lunch, the food came out fairly quick especially that there weren't many customers there. The restaurant is in the plaza. This place only accept cash. They didn't have 'cash only' sign anywhere.
