I've been on the hunt for a new hair salon after my previous go-to girl retired. I had heard great things about Phia and after a gym sesh across the street I decided to randomly swing by to see if they had availability anytime soon. When I walked in I was super surprised to be greeted by a virtual assistant through a monitor. It was something straight out of the Jetsons. After they asked me a few questions they happened to have an opening an hour later so I swiped that one up and came back after a bit.
I was randomly assigned a hairstylist, Minnie, and it was like the stars in the universe aligned because we clicked right away. She asked me all about my hair and what I was looking for. I'm a wing it type of person but I did have some things in mind. I ended up getting a trim with some wisby longish bangs and she was able to keep my length which was awesome. At the end she mentioned the different products she used in my hair and sent me home with a "care card" with recommendations on when to return and who else to see if she wasn't in.

I did contact the salon and while the individual who answered was very kind they were not particularly helpful.

The Jazmen & Gia provide great service despite constant issues like lack of leadership and consistency in product and equipment. This has unfortunately left most clients seeking services elsewhere and disgruntled. Not to mention the addition of a virtual person for check out leaves the space feeling stale and transactional. Such a shame.

We appreciate your feedback and are genuinely concerned about your experience at our salon. Jazmen and Gia are exceptional members of our team, and we value their dedication to providing great service.
Upon seeing this review, we promptly reached out to both Jazmen and Gia, who also serve in leadership roles within our salon. They were both surprised by your review but considered it thoughtfully to see where your perceptions may have arisen. Here is what they came up with:
Regarding product and equipment consistency, they suspected you may not be aware that the challenges they’ve encountered are related to supply chain issues that are beyond their (or the salon’s) control. Gia and Jazmen the leaders who manage product orders for the line they use on you, and, frustratingly, have been facing manufacturing backorders as long as we’ve carried the line. They've been diligently exploring alternatives to replace our coily/curly product line, but we haven’t replaced it yet because nothing has matched the performance and price point of our current offerings, so we continue to bear these frustrations until we can find a better line. If you have any brand suggestions for them to explore, we would love your input.
Gia did recall one instance of an equipment malfunction when you were in. Our Purple People Heater (yes, that is its real name!) went out unexpectedly. Hot Tools must have stopped making them, because we couldn’t find a new one. Since the other new bonnet dryers on the market appear to have very low reviews, we went vintage and got a legacy hood dryer that should last forever--but we will certainly also ask the staff if they want to test other brands of bonnet dryers.
Your comment about clients seeking services elsewhere is perplexing. Our guest satisfaction metrics are robust, and the number of guests we serve each week is stable or increasing. While statistics are essential, they don’t tell the whole story, so if you have specific concerns about someone who has become disgruntled or sought services elsewhere, please feel free to reach out directly so we can learn more about that situation.
Regarding our virtual receptionists, their presence has relieved our in-salon staff tremendously, ensuring they receive adequate support. Our long-term goal is to offer our guests the convenience of checking out from their salon chairs. Currently, we are working on resolving logistical issues related to sound interference with the front desk, but once we get this rolled out, our guest experience will be even more streamlined. Please know that these virtual assistants complement our on-site staff and do not replace them; we still have on-site support professionals to provide support.
We hope this addresses your concerns and want to reassure you that if our salon no longer aligns with your preferences, we respect your decision to explore other options and can even make recommendations to other talented professionals in the Columbus market.

I went in to Phia for a hair refresh and Jazmen did not disappoint!! I had long, damaged hair with grown out highlights when I came seeking her expertise... I left with a perfect fall/winter transitional color & highlight, healthy hair, and a fabulous long bob. Jazmen and Nate worked their magic and kept me so comfortable throughout the whole process. It's always a little nerve wracking trying a new salon for the first time, and now Jazmen has a customer for LIFE!

I went to a different "salon" and they butchered my hair. The next day, I went and saw Kalen @ Phia and he fixed my hair. He obviously couldn't give me back the length that I lost (I had hair to my butt, now it's just past shoulder length) but he was able to soften the blunt concrete steps the other place gave me. He was honest with me, that it wasn't going to be perfect, but he would get me as close as he could, and he delivered. Happy to say I have found my new hair stylist. Thank you Kalen!

Coming back for another raving review 3 years after the first. I've finally moved to Columbus and have found an amazing stylist at Phia, Minnie! She is such a gem and knows how to help me cut my hair for my natural curls! As well as for those days I want it straight. 10/10 recommend. Oh also, she's amazing at working with thick brows. Love it.
Phia overall is great and I've had my hair conditioned and styled by others. Very natural, communicative and relaxing atmosphere. I'm new to the area and was so nervous even with the good reviews I'd seen because I have been failed (in other states/salons) so many times with my thick/wavy hair. People never blow dry it to last me, but Phias was amazing. I felt pampered even through phone call, and got my hair cut and blown out by Liv who did PHENOMENAL! I love my hair.
It actually has volume, and was texturized. A little Pricey it might be but with the struggle it is to find a good hair stylist it was so worth it. I'm so sad I'm leaving Columbus soon, but will definitely be back whenever I return. Highly recommend. Thank you !! - Alexa R.OH, OH01Nov 13, 2023
Tabby did my hair- she did amazing my hair felt so soft and healthy when I left. The energy and other stylists in the salon was 10/10. Will definitely be going back!

I had a lovely experience at my first time at Phia. The salon itself is very beautiful. My stylist, Wesley, was truly a delight. I just came in for a cut, and I wasn't 100% certain what I wanted besides a "change." Wesley talked me through some ideas based on one picture I brought, but also based on what would work for my hair type, my level of commitment to a hair routine, and my face shape. I love the final look! I think it really suits me. I left with lots of advice on how to manage the new 'do myself.

Today was my first time at Phia. I was looking for a new hair stylist to fix my not so cute mushroomy bob and touch up my color. I have extremely thick hair with curls and can never seem to find someone who knows what to do with my hair. When I called the salon they recommended Andrew and wow am I glad I went with him. Not only did he give me the best haircut (for once in my life looks like the inspo pics I had), but he spent a lot of time to understand my hair and what I want, made great suggestions and the attention to detail while he was cutting my hair was like nothing I have ever seen. He also showed me how to style it which I very much appreciated. The salon is very cute and the prices were extremely reasonable. I can't recommend him enough, he is so talented and has a great vibe.
