Phat Jerry's Phillies

Went to the food truck during one of River Park's Food Truck Friday's at Glen Hall Park. First time having a Philly Cheese Stake. I eat sandwiches often and theirs definitely was one of the best sandwiches I have had.
I personally cannot handle a lot of heat and asked for mild, and their heat level handling is top class.
The steak and cheese melted together perfectly so that every chunk of meat was perfectly coated in an outer layer of cheese, topped with a perfect level of spice, making a top notch sandwich of flavor, texture, filling.

What others have said - this is a super solid spot for Philly Cheesesteak. Best I've found in Sac so far, just wish it was closer to home (prob better for my waistline).

I placed an order for pick-up a few weeks back. Phat Jerry's is just off the Watt Ave / 80 Exit, located in a small plaza with a Starbucks and Fried Chicken spot. Parking was easy and staff was friendly with quick service. Inside was clean with plenty of seating.

My Philly was PHAT indeed, I got the Super Philly Cheesesteak, their original 10" cheesesteak with 50% more cheese and steak. It comes with onions, sweet and hot peppers. I also added green peppers. For about $15 it was well worth the price for the amount of food. I split this was a friend and we were both completely full. It stayed warm on the ride home too.

We have been coming here for years. Always the best. We love it!! Not tonight. Burnt dry cold fries that cost over $4. Burnt meat like it had been cooked on a very dirty grill from a busy Friday that had not been cleaned at all in between rushes, and on a soggy roll. Literally the worst ever. I don't know if it has anything to do with ordering near closing time when I got off work, but either way super disappointing!!! What a waste of hard earned $21.10!!!

So I ordered the Super Philly, overall they got some good tasting food. Cheesesteak came out hot and fresh and tasted great. Bread was soft and the flavor was good. The garlic fries were crispy and packed with garlic and I'm not even a huge fan of steak fries. My only gripes were that I thought it'd be more cheesy for having "extra cheese" and the sandwich looked more like a 7 inch than the 10 inch that it said the Super Philly is supposed to be. Other than that though I was pleased with their food.

This is so dang good. I ordered a 7" Philly with steak fries. The bread was flaky on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. The steak was full of flavor, just wish there was more cheese. The place is small inside and could use some freshening up. Overall a good experience though.

Asked for no onions and just mushrooms with cheese on top of regular garlic fries. I got cheese steak with nothing but onions, jalapenos and peppers on top of steak fries.

I've been to this place at least 8xs, so this isn't a one off. I have a deep understanding of how a one-time customers review can hurt a business. If you're going to give a negative review, at least have the courtesy of multiple visits. Although Phats is a chain, they're not common in Sacramento. I have no beef with the cheesesteaks. They are freakin delicious. I've only had them in Philly once. It was at an airport. I was on a stopover and begged for 20min. idk if I got the real, but it was awesome. Phats are awesome. Now, why the 3*? Small Fries $5. I could hold all of them in one hand. Unbelievable! To add insult to injury, I tried using a discount sent to my email. Min order for discount is $40. I'm pretty sure a 2 sandwich order with $20 min wage is going to get close to $40 soon. This particular order was 2 sandwiches and a small order of fries $34. God help us all.

Pretty solid cheesesteak shop. I called in my order at 11:00am for pickup. I selected the Super Philly Cheesesteak with everything on it. I arrived at 11:15am and the place was packed! That's a good sign right? My order was ready to go.

If I ever go back and have it again I will have them hold the pickled jalapenos as they took away from the taste of the cheesesteak. Had way too many of them IMO.

There aren't a lot of options for Philly cheesesteak in Elk Grove so when I saw their food truck at the weekly food truck Friday event at the park near our house, we decided to try it out. The guy calling out orders was interesting. He yelled out my name and I had to put down my drink in my stroller and walk over, I wasn't even that far but he kept yelling out my name over and over without any breaks or actually looking to see who was walking towards the truck. It was actually kind of embarrassing as if I wasn't listening or taking forever to come over, but I was already walking over. That whole situation was off putting.

We ordered the philly cheesesteak fries, which came out to $18, definitely expected as standard food truck pricing. It was a good amount of meat on the mound of fries though. I wish they were different fries, as I'm not a huge fan of crinkle fries, just makes me think they were reheated from a frozen bag. Loved the onions and peppers on it though, they were nicely cooked and tender. But I really dislike nacho cheese and I think it's a cop out way to put cheese on something - if you're gonna be cooking the meat anyway, it would taste ten times better if it just had real melted cheese on top! Cheese is in the name of the product and I think it deserves the real stuff.

Had an unfortunate experience with the driver of this food truck. He was parked illegally across handicap spots in front of Starbucks. I parked in the space in front of him; to which enraged him. He felt I was blocking him and started cussing at me and throwing his hands up. I only had a mobile order and came back in under a minute. He continued to be aggressive yelling and displaying threatening behavior. His behavior was unhinged! I do not recommend this business and would be very careful in considering patronizing this business. #1 They don't know how to park a big truck with trailer appropriately. #2 They are comfortable threatening and attempting to silence a female alone in a parking lot.
